I spoil you sometimes, I do! And the lovely folks who send photos in spoil me! Today is just blissful, dreamy… perfectly suited to an English summer garden wedding  or perhaps, even with a taste of Italy with that sunshine and the fabulous balconies at Kirtlington Park. The lovely guys – Floral Engineers! – from Blooming Haus submitted this dreamy wedding editorial with light, natural and timeless styling – and SENSATIONAL flowers of course!

1. Wear Your Everyday Gold Jewellery

Instead of statement sparkly jewels, we’re seeing brides choosing pretty layering pieces to style their big day outfit. The general trend is that brides are wanting to be comfortable and more relaxed on their wedding day and this is a great way to choose jewellery that you can actually wear again long after the day itself. The style is more modern and minimal with just a hint of embellishment such as a decorative pendant. Opt for gold, it’s more luxe and looks great with ivory.

2. Go Natural

Brides are doing their research when it comes to choosing their wedding dress and we are seeing more and more brides wanting a natural option. Fabrics like 100% pure silk & lace are the key to creating a beautiful gown. There are so many amazing choices out there for dresses made in the UK using natural fabrics which can really set the tone for a sustainable wedding. Brands that use zero waste cutting techniques and local manufacturing are a really popular choice for a dress with a conscience.

Today’s wedding is wonderfully sunny and warm, beautifully styled and sooo romantic – it’s absolutely wonderful and I’ve been so excited to share this with you! Gorgeous couple Amy and Niall were married in Somerset, and styled their day around their backgrounds: as Amy is from Yorkshire and Niall is from Wales they incorporated both of these into their day.

They chose the tythe barn at Priston Mill as their wedding venue, and our lovely friend and sponsor Martin Dabek Photography (who comes recommended by Priston Mill) as their wedding photographer. So grab a cuppa and join us as we enjoy scrolling through the beautiful photographs of this rustic, relaxed, natural wedding day, full of love and laughter!

Let’s relax into a wedding style feature which is opulent, lush and sophisticated, shall we? Today’s blog is all about elegance, with timeless looks inspired by Price & Prejudice beautifully brought to life at Cornwall’s luxurious Burncoose House. Janna from Wild and Free Photography teamed up with stationer Caroline from Love Tree Designs and stylist Natalie Blake to bring a timeless elegance to this enchantingly beautiful wedding shoot.

Inspiration came from Jane Austen’s romantic novel, Pride and Prejudice, as well as using old world decor to give a truly authentic feel. The colour scheme was inspired by a combination of forest greenery which surrounds Burncoose House paired with gold which represents prosperity and grandeur. Burncoose House in Cornwall has us stepping back in time to the Georgian era with its classic architecture, grand staircase and ornate features throughout, which fitted perfectly with the vision.

Situated under the grand staircase was the most opulent cake by Christine Jensen from Peboryon, that shows off her detailed sugar work and styled by Natalie Blake with draped material and candle light.

Welcome to the week, my lovelies! I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. We’re kicking off this week with an absolute stunner of a wedding: beautiful Serena & Michael’s Worcestershire wedding has the loveliest atmosphere of elegance and glamour – I just know you’ll love this. Their wedding photographer is new to English Wedding: Nicholas Rogers Photography is based in the Midlands – he gets a brilliant review from the happy couple. Other suppliers include Georgina Scott Bridal Boutique in Stourbridge, where Serena bought that fabulous Martina Liana dress, Secret Garden Wedding Services, Chandni BeautyJon Paul Menswear and Flowers of Kidderminster.

“My mum dried flowers for a year for the confetti, our conservatory was covered for months at a time! We also bought wall paper for the paper cones to put them in. They were so beautiful, all the guests loved them. We assembled the favours ourselves, painstakingly building 150 boxes, putting macaroons in them and attaching a ribbon and a tag to each one. We made our seating plan ourselves from a huge picture frame and printed the table inserts at home.

Did you catch yesterday’s feature full of advice for kids at weddings? We covered catering, crèches and superhero costumes… but one thing I’d like to talk about more is entertainment for children at weddings. And getting it right is essential if you want those adorable little faces to be smiling on your big day! So our lovely friends at Warble Entertainment have come up with some great pointers to help you out. And whatever entertainment you choose, the benefits are huge and might be a bit of a surprise!

For the most part, weddings have some children attending. Even if it is a small cluster of bridesmaids or page boys, you will normally see a contingent of little people running around looking for something to do, all whilst being chased by a slightly flustered parent!

There are times when looking after kids at a wedding can be challenging. Some children may not cope well with the length of the day (and the inevitable tiredness that follows), so it can be worth having wedding entertainment for kids to keep them occupied during these times.

Inspired by the fabulous images from London wedding photographer Jordanna Marston

There’s a photo somewhere of a four-year-old me, hiding behind my mum’s leg (and clinging on for dear life while peeking around the side) at a wedding. It’s one of my favourites – who’d have such a cute (but terrified) little monkey would be a wedding blogger in later life? If you’d asked me way back then, I’d have said kids don’t want to go to your wedding. But that makes light of what’s actually a huge talking point all over the interweb: should you invite kids to weddings?

brilliant proof that kids at weddings is a huge win! Photo credit Jordanna Marston Photography (13)

People have asked people – in official surveys – if big people should invite little people to weddings. The result is a surprising 50% split – this is contentious! Half of us (big people) want overexcited, small, messy, super fun people to celebrate with us. The other half would rather enjoy a sophisticated day (off) to relax and celebrate, and leave little ones at home. Which is fine!

Before I say anything else, I just have to start with Stacey’s DRESS today – because WOW!!! She looks incredible in a Stella York gown from Bicester Bridal. This is a dreamy outdoor wedding in Oxfordshire, with gorgeous May sunshine (and the sunset is stunning!) and a soft colour palette of blush with accents in powder blue and gentle peach. The flowers are wonderful, the vibe is elegant, fun and romantic and the images by Benjamin Wetherall Photography take my breath away. You’ll love this.

Today’s wedding is an elegant and classy affair; mixing traditional styling with a modern twist at one al styling with a modern twist at one of Yorkshire’s favourite wedding venues:  The Mansion at Leeds Roundhay Park. Gorgeous couple Kat and Vincent were lucky to have a beautiful summer’s day for their wedding, and really made the most of the grounds of the park for their wedding photos.

Images are by York wedding photographer Amy Jordison, who gets a glowing review from the couple in their English Wedding Interview below! Watch out for a stunning Essense of Australia dress (from Ava Rose Hamilton), fabulous florals by NC Floral Designs and that wonderful cake from Zoe’s Fancy Cakes.

We posted a request for photographers on Bidvine.com. Of those that came back, we met those that seemed a good fit and then made a final decision based on various factors like portfolio, experience, location and rapport – the latter being important because they needed to be able to get on not just with us, but all the guests they’d be having to wrangle on the day.

Hey beautiful! Today we’re sharing this wonderful, windswept editorial with joy in our hearts. Autumn days have their own kind of magic: it’s all about embracing the beauty of nature and falling in love with the elements, no holding back! Lovely Jessica Lily sent this one in, and I just love it to bits. The dress has a natural grace and magic to it; the bouquet is stunning, and the location is pretty damn special, don’t you think?! There’s a beautiful invite by lovely LouPaper, which would look amazing teamed with bare wooden tables dressed with trailing foliage and autumnal candles…

“The concept of this shoot was to take boho elegance and beauty to the coast. We chose Rottingdean Windmill as it was nostalgic to me but also I hope the location inspires future brides and grooms planning to have outdoor weddings: there really are some hidden gems in the UK.

The bride’s attire was a delicate plunge gown with intricate lace detail created by renowned bridal designer Alon Livne. I decided to keep the model barefoot and use foot accessories to keep with the boho theme.” ~ Jessica Lily Photography

Julie and Aaron’s wedding photos had me hooked from the moment I saw them – the gorgeous smoke bomb images, Julie’s stunning smile and that amazing Caroline Castigliano dress!! They married in April at Pennard House, with all the cherry blossom in full bloom. The venue was styled by RD Events, flowers are by lovely Bramble & Wild, and there are some lovely rustic touches from Bath Vintage Hire Company. This is a day full of beautiful old English charm, and I hope you love it as much as I do!

We went to a local wedding fayre and saw a photo of a couple with smoke bombs and then looked through the rest of Ryan’s display stand and we were hooked! We knew we wanted Ryan without even looking at the cost!

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

We hardly saw him, but in a good way!! We wanted natural pictures of the day and Ryan just blended in and captured just that. From the moment we booked Ryan he became more of a photographer he became a wedding guest.
