Happy Monday everyone! Let’s begin the week with a vibrant bouquet from a lovely English wedding, shall we? Kent and Essex wedding photographer Alison Wood got in touch with me on Twitter when I shared my best real bouquets of 2014, and I loved Hayley’s bright colours and exciting textures.

Hey everyone, welcome to Friday! Yay 🙂 I’ll be out on my latest adventures when you read this, on a major birthday shopping excursion for my man and looking forward to reliving my youth at a concert this weekend… but first, a little bit of something yummy for us all to share…

Yumbles edible weddding favours (10)

I’m about to tempt you with handcrafted, gourmet raspberry marshmallows in a pretty bag… or limited edition strawberry cheesecake cookie pops with a kraft tag and baker’s twine… sound good?!

Mollie from Yumbles got in touch with me in June. (Brilliant name, isn’t it?!) Yumbles is an online food and drink marketplace connecting food lovers with the UK’s best independent producers – and they’re proud to have recently introduced a range of unique and original wedding favours on Yumbles.com, all handmade by their wonderful sellers. Hey there lovely blog readers! I hope you like horses… and beautiful, romantic styling ideas… because I’m about to show you such a lovely shoot it’ll burn your Pinterest fingers.

Wedding photographer Penny Young is becoming a bit of a regular on the English Wedding Blog. She’s just so lovely, and we were chatting on email about a shoot she’d been involved in – I saw a couple of images and I was hooked. I had to show you!

A whimsical farm wedding shoot with stylist Christine Maciocia

The shoot was designed and arranged by talented wedding stylist Christine Maciocia. She was approached by real life couple William and Christine, who were looking to recreate the vibe of their wedding day in some new, exciting and beautiful images. They must love the results – and don’t they look amazing! It’s clear from the images they’re in love, and I think that sets this styled shoot apart from so many others – the looks of love are real.

Don’t let the headline mislead you – this is the most elegant of weddings, and any Viz table names come as a complete surprise (which makes the chuckle factor greater!) Kirsty is a beautiful bride in a designer David Fielden gown, Paul her handsome groom. They celebrated at the fabulous Maunsel House (click the link for more real weddings there) in a relaxed and beautifully styled day.

I love how Paul and Kirsty didn’t work with a theme – instead, their wedding came together beautifully around their sense of style. It’s a lovely way to create a wedding and makes perfect sense to me. Images are by lovely wedding photographer Anna Taylor who you should read more about here:

Did you watch Glastonbury this weekend? Or did you go? I’ve never been to Glasto, and while I’ve had some amazing festival experiences Glastonbury’s never been on my radar. It’s so big it scares me. And I think my blog, life and business have a lot in common with the little hippy festival of 1970!

What the…?!

First of all, I’ve decided to start sharing some more personal and wedding blogging / business posts again. (Here are the ones I used to write.) A lot of wedding suppliers read the blog, and I know we share a lot in common and can help each other with little chats and thoughts like this post.

Magdallen College Wedding Photography_Marshal Gray-1118

Back to Glasto, and Wiki tells me there were 175,000 people there this weekend. Now I’m a girl who loves intimate gigs – I love Manchester Academy, and I love Beautiful Days festival. It’s limited to 15,000 tickets – still a lot of people but I like it. Small is beautiful, right?

Norma & Dorothy is a UK based independent wedding invitation shop. Created by designer Grace, it’s a place of pretty prints and playful lettering, a little world where you’ll find some of the loveliest wedding invitations you’re likely to see. Norma & Dorothy is an online shop only, run from a busy little craft studio in central Manchester.

Hello my lovely blog readers! Is it really Friday? I feel as though I missed Thursday, and Wednesday… the week has been a bit crazy here! I have been hiding away some gorgeous wedding invitation samples which lovely Emma from ELS Design sent to me a few weeks ago – they’re gorgeous and deserve all the attention I can give them! So as always, I got my calligraphy pens out and played, and now I can show you Emma’s beautiful invites 🙂

You might think it’s the lambs which clinched this wedding as a must-have for my blog, but I promise it was the beautiful bride and fabulous flowers that won me over first. Then the lambs… sooo sweet! Hollie and Darren had a rustic village hall wedding with a twist of historical Britain, brought to life with red, white and blue in true style.

Ever wondered how you’d cope without your bridesmaids? In these crafty times the responsibilities of the average bridesmaid have changed: many of you will be spending weekends and evenings with your best girls covered in glue and lace, helping you make all kinds of decorative touches for your big day. Second only to your partner and your parents, bridesmaids are there for you all the way and I think we should celebrate them more!

Your bridesmaid is worth her weight in gold. She’ll come to bridal shops, join in your Pinterest obsession, help you find suppliers, trudge around wedding fairs and keep you sane when all the planning gets overwhelming.

You’ll always remember the laughs you and your best girls have in the run up to your wedding – from trips to Hobbycraft right up to your hen night. Your chief bridesmaid has the best job of all: planning a hen night to bring all your best girl friends together for anything from glamping to go-karting. So I think bridesmaids deserve the biggest thank you of all!
