I’d be so excited if I received an invitation to a wedding at a venue called Finchcocks Musical Museum, wouldn’t you?! And what a stunning place it is – a fabulous choice for Gemma and Gordon’s beautiful wedding. Home to historical pianos, organs and music boxes(!) it’s a fascinating location and has beautiful gardens for wedding photos – and Gemma and Gordon made the most of these!

Helen and Andy’s Gloucestershire wedding is everything a country fete should be: warm and welcoming, full of flowers and pretty decor, and created with the help of friends and family – with details and gifts including flowers grown from seed by a kind neighbour, a wedding cake made by a friend of the bride’s Mum and some fabulous hand painted wedding signs.

The venue is one of the stars of this outdoor wedding and from Helen’s wedding report I gather the venue owners were true stars, helping to create the perfect day. I loved hearing how Helen had been on a screen printing course and designed all of the wedding invitations – isn’t that fabulous?

Hey everyone! Just a quickie this afternoon as I’ve been playing behind the scenes and – I’m sure you’ve noticed – the header image for the English Wedding Blog and facebook page has changed. I owe huge thanks to lovely Joseph Hall Photography for the photograph, which is from Jacqui and Andy’s beautiful Winkworth Farm wedding.

english wedding featured english wedding blog feature badge

Along with the new header, I’ve also got a new badge for wedding suppliers to put on their websites. Watch out for it – when you see this on your wedding suppliers’ website it means they’ve been featured on the English Wedding Blog!

Wedding suppliers who’ve been featured here in the past, please help yourselves to the badges above for your websites. Please link back either to your feature, or to the home page at English-Wedding.com

You might have been featured and missed it… do a quick search like this: http://english-wedding.com/your-business-name (substituting your actual business name along with hyphens!) and see what you find. If you haven’t been featured and you’d like to, then get in touch! info@English-Wedding.com

There’s nothing I love more than an intimate wedding: with only closest friends and family for the ceremony, Emma and Jeremy created the loveliest wedding day at the fabulous Ox Pasture Hall in Yorkshire. Their style: Alice in Wonderland and specifically the Mad Hatter’s tea party.

With lots of wonderful handmade details – the button bouquet and buttonholes being a real highlight for me – this is a charming and enchanting wedding. Huge thanks to a gorgeous bride and groom, for sharing their day and all the fantastic advice in the wedding report. Thanks also to lovely Neil Jackson Photographic for his lovely images of the wedding day:

Shepherd Neame Kent wedding photography of the lovely Carly and Paul

A lovely start to the day for the bridal preparations at the recently and beautifully refurbished Marine Hotel in Tankerton, Kent. Then a short drive along the coast in a 1956 Morris Minor for Carly and her dad to the market town of Faversham to the Shepherd Neame visitor centre for the wedding ceremony.shepherd-neame-brewery-wedding-0180shepherd-neame-brewery-wedding-howling-basset

A new venue for me to shoot and it’s a rabbit warren of features and surprises. The evening reception was a vast and interesting space and part of the museum itself. There was even a genuine Spitfire cockpit that of course any self-respecting groom just had to have a try in.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope it’s sunny and warm where you are as well… such a beautiful morning here at English Wedding Blog towers 🙂 and I’m feeling happy. So it’s the perfect time to chat about balloons. Wedding balloons are having a bit of a revival – and it’s going to grow and grow, with thanks to the lovely Bonbon balloons. Pretty balloons with garlands, tassels, filled with confetti… just gorgeous!

The possibilities are endless: mix and match colourful balloons outside your venue; create a backdrop to cover a wall, with candy coloured balloons filled with confetti; use balloons with tassels and garlands to hang over a cake table or escort card display.

It’s the first time I’ve blogged a wedding with a pet hedgehog called Derek – who inspired much of the theme for Liz and Paul’s countryside wedding at Surrey’s Coltsford Mill. They had little hedgehog stamps on their stationery, and even adorable little hedgehog cake toppers… who I’m calling Derek and Mrs Derek!

Bride Liz looks amazing in a Lusan Mandongus designer wedding dress, with exquisite lace detailing and the most beautiful back and train – she’s simply stunning isn’t she? Paul is her perfect match, and I’m so proud to feature such a lovely couple on the English Wedding Blog today.

From the romance of Yorkshire to the magic of Florence… I couldn’t resist sharing this enchanting engagement shoot by lovely destination wedding photographer Rik Pennington.

Rik Pennington Photography (1) I’ll never forget the times I spent living in Italy as a student. I visited Florence from my home in Trieste, and loved the hustle and bustle – but photographer Rik, along with gorgeous couple (ridiculously so… aren’t they?) Giorgia and Filippo explored the quieter streets, full of real untouched Italian charm and atmosphere.

Are there favourite secret places you’d love to explore in your home town or on a destination shoot? I have a few ideas of my own…

There are a few places in this beautiful land of ours which inspire fierce loyalty and pride: Yorkshire is most certainly near the top of that list. The white rose, rolling hillsides and charming towns and people make Yorkshire a perfect place to live, and to love… and today’s bride and groom chose Yorkshire as their wedding theme, location and flavour!

Yorkshire themed wedding blog (19)

Bren and Nikki married at the fabulous Ox Pasture Hall, and chose lovely Georgina Harrison Photography to capture their day. With bunting, pom poms, a vintage typewriter, jam jars with candles, mini chalk boards with easels for the name cards, a suitcase for collecting cards and their awesome ‘LOVE’ light, this is a wedding full of ideas which I know you’ll love!

Ahh… happy Friday everyone! With the weekend beginning in – ooh about 8 hours shall we say? 😉 I thought I’d share something really special with you this morning. I had the absolute honour of styling a creative shoot at Broadoaks Country House a little while ago, and we really made the most of the amazing William Morris Music Room for a truly timeless setting which brought our shoot to life. You can almost taste the romance in the air – it’s such a beautiful setting.

Sassi Holford bride Julia Tasker Couture (15)

Our beautiful model Kelsey wears a Sassi Holford wedding gown with exquisite embroidery detailing around the neckline. My heartfelt thanks to Julia Tasker Bridal Couture. Kelsey’s graceful and elegant hair was styled by lovely Gareth from Aqua The Salon, and make up is by Helen at Definitions Mobile Beauty.

It’s been the most amazing summer for English weddings – so many of my photographer friends have had a fantastic year, and I’ve seen the most wonderful, beautifully styled and photographed celebrations. We can safely say that English couples are the BEST! – and we have some of the best wedding photographers in the world to prove it. The absolute highlight of my job is discovering new wedding photographers and suppliers, and when I saw Liam Smith Photography I was blown away – what a sight for a wedding blogger’s happy eyes!

The neckline of Alicia’s wedding dress is just wonderful: on such a graceful and glamorous bride, this dress couldn’t be more perfect… and so sets the scene for today’s beautiful wedding blog. Alicia and Seb were married at Knowlton Court in Kent, celebrating their day with friends and family in the summer sunshine.
