I love today’s wedding for it’s classy sense of difference: there’s nothing normal or ordinary about Kate and Steve’s London wedding, and yet it’s as elegant as any wedding, ever, without trying to be quirky… the mark of a couple whose style and grace makes everything just fall into place beautifully.

Kate – today’s timelessly graceful and beautiful bride – and her husband Steve have been together for years and their wedding focused on friends and family. They still forget they’re married… and yet this wedding in its uniqueness will stick in my mind for a long time. I love to see a day which is different.

One of my favourite things about today is Kate’s interview (at the end of the feature). Very often brides write LOTS about their dress, and add a very brief note about the groom’s attire or bridesmaids / flower girls. Kate though… and I LOVE this… gives a resounding ‘nah…’ + one line to my question about her dress (which is stunning!) but writes 3 LINES about her adorable son (Batman bowtie – awesome!!) and daughter (sparkly shoes – awww!!).

As a little girl I used to try and make my own dried flower bouquets… so I was delighted to see Paula’s bouquet from today’s wonderfully country wedding: it really is beautifully different. In fact today’s wedding is one of those I love for every little detail which comes together to make a creative, exciting and unique overall style for a magical day.

Sean and Paula chose their wedding venue for its windmill. Paula’s dress was chosen at the very last minute… and wow, it must have been fate because it’s beautiful!

The rustic stationery and DIY touches are what make today’s wedding look so unique – and the photographs are out of this world – I really struggled to cut the images down to a reasonable number to show you… because between the venue, the gorgeous bride and groom and the fabulous photographer, they make for some of the best wedding photos I’ve seen and shared. A favourite, definitely!

Hello there beautiful! I hope you’re having the loveliest week already – and I have something fabulous to help inspire your day: we’re talking opulence and elegance on the English Wedding Blog this morning.

Today’s stately home wedding shoot takes us to the magnificent Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire. There are designer dresses by Jenny Packham, Sassi Holford and Suzanne Neville, antique furniture and exquisite stationery to inspire those of you planning a stately home wedding – we’re talking lush, big budget styles with a classic flavour.

Styling a stately home wedding is all about working with the venue to create a gorgeous overall look. In today’s shoot Kelly (The Bespoke Wedding Company) did it with flowers, stationery and delicious accessories to complement the elegant surroundings of The White Room, Waddesdon’s newest wedding location.

Whatever your wedding budget, styling and decor can be scaled to fit your pocket: one thing I love about this shoot is its flexibility: Kelly has created floral displays at the end of the aisle, as centrepieces in tall displays and as scaled-down table arrangements with mercury glass. Choose whichever fits your budget best, and your stately home wedding will look beautiful, I promise!

Sometimes a wedding is far too pretty to say no to, and sometimes a wedding is so pretty it takes seconds for me to squeal “yes pleeeeeeeease!” at my inbox! Jade and Lawrence’s big day shot straight into the latter category and I know you’ll love it too.

The gorgeous couple were married at Hedingham Castle in Essex and their day was relaxed, pretty and with lots and lots of DIY details. Jade and Lawrence saved money by asking friends and family to help out, and they also chose to ignore the traditions they didn’t like… which, I’m sure you’ll agree, is the way to do it!

Jade is absolutely stunning, rocking a superb dress by Lou Lou Bridal and timelessly glamorous red lipstick – her bouquet is as individual as it is classy: white tulips are all a girl needs when she looks this good. Gorgeous, gorgeous girl!

More and more of the wonderful brides and grooms featuring on these happy pages are telling me they found ideas and suppliers on wedding blogs. That’s awesome! I LOVE knowing you’re discovering some of the amazing people whose work I feature, and booking them too!

Image credits used in this post: Penny Young Photography. Full supplier list and link to feature at the end of the post

I’ve been featuring more styled shoots on the English Wedding Blog, and I do choose them carefully: they have to be inspirational and beautifully photographed as well as having elements you can recreate without breaking the bank! For some of you this will mean contacting the suppliers featured; for others shoots are more about finding colour combinations or other elements you could use. They’re where some of our best ideas come from, right?

But as a supplier there’s one immensely frustrating side to styled shoots, and that’s exclusivity requests from wedding blogs. Until recently I asked for exclusivity for a few months on the English Wedding Blog; I don’t now. It seems almost greedy to ask for exclusivity: why claim the work of creatives for yourself and insist it’s not published elsewhere?

Hey there lovelies! It’s on days like today I wish you were here with me, helping me choose the best of all the gorgeous images I’m sent for every real wedding feature. Because to be honest, today’s Fanhams Hall wedding is so beautiful I’m simply lost for where to begin!

Today’s stunning bride Nicola wears a Galina Signature gown from David’s Bridal. She looks incredible with a navy sash belt and crystal hair accessory – and oh, those flowers… nothing provides texture more than fabulous blue thistles and berries, while the roses add glamour and anemones complete the romantic bouquet. LOVE!

I can tell Nicola and Adam were inspired by wedding blogs and Pinterest: the chalkboards (and hours learning how to get the lettering just perfect!), anenomes and attention to detail are ideas I love to share on the English Wedding Blog so this blog-inspired wedding is more than perfect!

It’s rather lovely to be exploring Oxfordshire’s finest wedding venues on the blog this week, don’t you think?! On Sunday I shared Kelly and Chris’s gorgeous Henley on Thames wedding; today it’s the turn of Hannah and Mark at the fabulous Ardington House. Wow… (Oh! And while I remember, I’m looking for more weddings from Berkshire, Wiltshire, Northamptonshire and surrounding counties so do get in touch if you’ve one to share!)

Hannah and Mark were married outside, and it won’t take more than an image or two for you to see how amazing the surroundings are… this is one of the loveliest outdoor wedding venues I’ve seen.

There’s no shortage of details to inspire you: Hannah’s time making 60 paper poms really paid off: they look gorgeous in the marquee and add a touch of colour to the styling. Hannah’s other craft projects include the card suitcase, table numbers and menus, and table plan.

The ceremony… the rings… the speeches… I think every bride and groom has a different expectation of what the most amazing moments will be when the big day finally comes around. I met up with fabulous Kent wedding photographer Benjamin Toms recently, and we got to chatting about the best moments. Ben surprised me, and talked so passionately about the best wedding moments as seen through the eyes of a photographer… and I think I’ll see every real wedding on the blog a little differently now.

“As a documentary wedding photographer I will spend a full day shooting a wedding. This means I live through the nerves and excitement with my couples – and it’s such an incredible privilege. I usually arrive two or three hours before the ceremony, which gives me time to capture images of the bride getting ready.”

I love Carolyn from The Pavilion at Lane End, I really do… but she always sends me articles (and pictures) of the most gorgeous, delicious-looking food. On a hardworking Monday afternoon I’m even more tempted to reach for some fabulous sugar therapy!… This is dangerous! And yet – as a bride- or groom-to-be, YOU have a legitimate reason to drool over these wonderful little ideas. Enjoy. Oh and Carolyn – I love you really: you’re the best!
