So many things come to mind when I see a wedding captured by London wedding photographers York Place Studios. Authenticity is one; the fact that a wedding is a real day, happening in the real world and filled with all the wonderful happy chaos of daily life. Sometimes I think the wedding media can pile the pressure on to make a wedding look like a day you can engineer to be perfect – but any event with joyful people and celebration is bound to be full of unexpected little moments. That’s the way a wedding should be: happy, fun, and all about the people.

There’s a lot of pressure to have your Best Day Ever on the day you get married. And weirdly, the machine that is the wedding media would have you believe that your Best Day Ever depends on the stuff you buy to make it pretty.

Here’s the absolute proof that your wedding day will be amazing because of who you are, and what you say and do, and who you invite, and how the day FEELS, over and above how it looks.

A glorious wedding on a rainy day… and proof that rainy day weddings can make for the most stunning photographs and memories of your day! Katy and Ryan look fab – her dress from Ava Rose Hamilton is so incredibly beautiful and she looks amazing. I do love a groom in glasses – Ryan’s happiness absolutely shines and the pair are just gorgeous together. Do scroll down and read their English Wedding interview, as it’s a beauty! Huge thanks to lovely Heather Butterworth Photography for submitting this wonderful wedding to the blog. Happy Monday everyone! Claire's signature

The venue:

Skipbridge is a relaxed wedding venue full of unique charm. It’s an incredible place with quirky onsite accommodation and animals (llamas, donkeys, peacocks and more) on site, and makes a lovely Yorkshire wedding venue.

OK, so I’ve said this many times, but really today I would love for you to read today’s wedding blog SLOWLY. It’s the images, which are absolute proof that children lift weddings to the next level and then some. Of course our bride and groom are absolutely stunning and this is a day filled with joy and celebration (and pre-pandemic happy hugs!) – but honestly, the kids make it. You will smile, and I hope you’ll chuckle as you scroll through this joyful and relaxed celebration. There simply couldn’t be a more perfect wedding to brighten your Friday and lift your spirits!
