Natalie & Luke’s beautifully authentic wedding photography, with York Place Studios
So many things come to mind when I see a wedding captured by London wedding photographers York Place Studios. Authenticity is one; the fact that a wedding is a real day, happening in the real world and filled with all the wonderful happy chaos of daily life. Sometimes I think the wedding media can pile the pressure on to make a wedding look like a day you can engineer to be perfect – but any event with joyful people and celebration is bound to be full of unexpected little moments. That’s the way a wedding should be: happy, fun, and all about the people.
Natalie and Luke’s wedding is just that – and for us, it’s the very picture of a perfect wedding. The couple look amazing, the dress is stunning and the suit just gorgeous. The flowers are fab, there are little styling touches we love… but they’re just the details. The joy comes from the couple and their guests, and this is SO important to show on a wedding blog.
The backdrop to Natalie and Luke’s wedding is the charming Robin Hood’s Bay, Yorkshire. The characterful old streets add a sense of timelessness to their photos – and the locals and tourists smile as they watch the wedding group walk by. I love how this sets the celebrations firmly against a background of ‘life goes on’ – there’s that wonderful authenticity which comes with the very best documentary wedding photographers.
Don’t you just love the ceremony venue? It’s The Cove at Robin Hood’s Bay – an historic former chapel with an auditorium dating back to the 1820s and spectacular views out to sea. Natalie and Luke had a romantic first look as they entered the chapel behind their guests, then walked down separate aisles to the stage where they said their vows. What a glorious, special and unique wedding!
