This week has FLOWN by! Lovelies, I hope you’ve enjoyed all the beautiful weddings and shoots we’ve shared on the blog this week. Time now for a relaxing weekend and some sunshine… but I want to leave you with something incredibly beautiful. I love everything about Maisie and David’s day – it’s full of fun, love and laughter… and the little details are just stunning (as are our gorgeous bride and groom!) Welcome to May, lovelies. I thought we’d kick off the month with a truly enchanting wedding to lift our spirits. Valerie and David’s May wedding is unique and beautifully memorable, with lilac as the main wedding colour inspired by their favourite flower wisteria, and yellow accents for bright and cheerful contrast and sunshine. Coming from Cambridge and Southern Ukraine, David and Valerie’s day combines their little world in creative ways, with Ukrainian delicacies and wedding games – oh, and the ‘stealing of the bride’ tradition! The look is very much a traditional English wedding, with beautiful sunshine and the most magical sunset over Richmond Park at the end of the day.

Just a couple of days before lockdown was announced, beautiful bride Jemma married her handsome man Antony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall. This is a really special day and I’m proud to be able to share it with you. There were just two witnesses, Jemma’s mother, the celebrant and their photographer Sarah. Because of coronavirus, sadly some guests were no longer able to attend.

Two things – when I stop giggling. Two quite important things –

1) this is actually genuinely REALLY beautiful and

2) injecting a little bit of happy chuckling into any lockdown day is the best thing you can possibly do. It’s definitely what solid-haired Rachel & Rowan did on their wedding day last week, in the company of Yorkshire wedding photographer Andy Matheson.

They’re the best-looking Lego couple we’ve EVER featured here on English Wedding, and despite a few mishaps (Rowan slipped and fell on the lentil-confetti, but don’t worry: he was ok) their day is – and now I’m NOT laughing: really, truly, beautifully captured!

Lovely couple Pippa & David had a joyful spring elopement in Dartmoor back in the days when spring was simply glorious spring, and we could all go out and get wed and do all the wonderful things! I wanted to share it with you today as a reminder that normality WILL resume, and that the future can still be more beautiful than ever. Patience, my lovelies – this will pass. So let’s join the happy couple who took spring as the inspiration behind their wedding theme. The sense of joy and optimism at seeing the first green shoots of the season and splashes of yellow daffodils. Their vision was for everything to be fresh and vibrant, offset by white and earthy tones and textures. Their wedding venue Ever After – A Dartmoor Wedding took care of all the sourcing and styling, and Pippa & David’s day is just perfect.
