Hey lovely! Thank you so much for coming back to English Wedding. I just know you’ll adore today’s feature, with beautiful bride Julia and her gorgeous new husband Joe celebrating their marriage at Shiplake College, Henley on Thames. They’re a fabulous, fun couple whose wedding is full of personality – from their first look (the photos are just wonderful!) to the floral styling around the venue. Images are by my lovely friend Ayshea Goldberg Photography, who gets such a fantastic review from the happy couple.

We came across Ayshea’s website while browsing online and really liked her style of photos.

Ayshea was a pleasure to work with! From the moment we met her, we knew we wanted her to be our photographer – she was professional but also fun and relaxed, and put us at ease immediately. She was great on the wedding day – she helped calm any nerves and was unobtrusive the whole time but captured the day perfectly.

Our midweek wedding is a blissful, breathtaking, glorious celebration of love at Nottingham’s Carriage Hall. Stephanie and Peter were married in April, which they chose as a time of new beginnings – and the perfect month to start their married life! The lovely couple always knew they wanted a humanist wedding ceremony: “Humanism celebrates the idea that we have one life to lead, so we need to live it in the here and now, that we need to make the most of life’s beauty and riches every day; it focuses on the goodness of humanity and community, family and friends; and the importance of love.

“We worked with a wonderful celebrant, Laurie Cohen, to write a ceremony that was completely unique and personal to us. Working with a Humanist celebrant allowed us to reflect back on our relationship and really think about why we wanted to get married. It was a really lovely process and probably one of the most fun parts of planning the wedding!

You can’t beat a wedding with a really fun story. Lovely Jade and Carl invited all of their guests to their children’s christening – and surprised them with an extra: they got MARRIED!! It makes the photos of the beginning of the day even more special, knowing that for most of the guests, the whole thing was a secret surprise!

Images are by lovely Fiona at Anoif Photography, who gets a fabulous review from Jade and Carl in their interview (at the end of the blog post). Photography was the couple’s biggest spend, and one they’re very glad of – for while this was very much a DIY wedding on a budget, the images will last a lifetime and I love the piece of family history they’ve captured for our lovely bride and groom!

Hey lovely! Happy Wednesday and I hope you have sunshine!! Prepare to be literally glued to your screen though, because right now I’m sharing one of the PRETTIEST weddings as we join Sarah and Greg at Dorfold Hall, with images by Joasis Photography – this is just SO beautiful! It’s wonderful to read such fabulous words about The Little Paper Shop too – they’re a glorious little stationery boutique in Nantwich, and where I’ll be teaching calligraphy workshops this September! Cheshire brides – do check it out as I would LOVE to meet you there!

“I had never been one of those girls who has their wedding planned in advance, but once I started I knew what I wanted it to look and feel like. I have a creative streak, and wanted to design as much of it as possible so the invites; table placing and orders of service all used my script and drawings. Cara at The Little Paper Shop designed some loose leaf florals for me in a muted pink (to match the bridesmaids dresses that I had already bought!), which we put with rose gold and the theme grew from there. The styling of the day was all muted pinks, ivories, and delicate flowers with beautiful scents – such as roses and peonies – and with lots of texture and sage green. I loved the flowers – and in particular my bouquet – which blew me away! It was such a beautiful shape!

Morning lovely! Do you have sunshine? I hope so – it’s beautiful here and I’m so tempted to hit the beach for an impromptu lunch picnic right now! Before I do though – something really rather beautiful is about to wriggle its way up your screen and into your heart! Stunning couple Rachael and James were married at Owen House Wedding Barn in Cheshire and their rustic country wedding is full of the loveliest moments and details… I mean, this adorable bunch of humans just make the BEST group shots I’ve seen in a LONG while!

Sean & Charlotte’s Coombe Lodge wedding was relaxed, fun filled and full of love. Their theme of rustic romance in blush, cream and greens incorporated traditional touches: lace, hessian, lots of candles and lots of florals. Charlotte is stunning in an Essense of Australia dress, and Sean wears his military uniform – so today’s wedding will appeal to all of you lovelies who are looking for traditional, pretty and classic styling ideas for your day.

As we don’t live locally to Coombe Lodge (Blagdon), most of our suppliers were found online, mainly through Google. Claire from TheWildeBunch arranged our wedding flowers as well as the styling. I knew I wanted cream and blush flowers, with some greenery and quite a rustic looking bouquet, with roses and gypsophila. The flowers were absolutely beautiful and exceeded my expectations.

Martin actually found and messaged us on bidvine.com, after we uploaded a request looking for a wedding photographer. We looked at his work and instantly fell in love, he’d also shot at our venue before which was a bonus!

Hey lovelies! I hope you’re having a fabulous week. Is it summer anywhere in the UK right now? We drove from Somerset up to Cumbria yesterday with the car heater on all the way – where’s our sunshine?!! Today though, I have a lovely spring wedding to brighten your screens and lift all of our hearts. Gorgeous couple Chloe & Dan tied the knot in Cornwall, with their two adorable pooches as ring bearers on the day. Their wedding is a DIY affair with 400 (I know, right!!) handmade pom poms (by the bride) instead of confetti, a sparkly fairy light table plan and plenty of rustic touches to really make this a special and personal wedding.

The venue is The Green in Liskeard, Cornwall, where Mark from Evolve Photography is a recommended wedding photographer. Chloe and Dan very kindly told us a little about their day:

Gorgeous couple Emily & Harry tied the knot at Sharpham House in Devon last May. Theirs was a wonderfully relaxed, country style wedding with plenty of wildflowers – and truly, the floral styling is breathtaking! Harry’s mum arranged all of the flowers with help from family and friends. Emily told me she worked tirelessly in the run up to the wedding and in particular the day before to make everything look so beautiful.

“We went to a wholesale flower seller in Cornwall to purchase all of the flowers and used wildflowers in her garden to help decorate the tables. We had plenty of green foliage to bulk out the flowers and also add colour. In my bouquet were pale pink peonies, blue delphiniums, white freshias and green foliage. The wildflowers on the tables included buttercups and bluebells. We also used plenty of cow parsley and eucalyptus to decorate the venue!

The venue itself is a beautiful old house, so we didn’t need a large amount of decoration. We added a few touches here and there to make it look more festive and like a wedding!

Hey lovely! I’ve been blown away by the stunning wildflowers and relaxed, boho styling of Chris and Bex’s Devon wedding today. Once again we’re at the fabulous Colehayes Park in Bovey Tracey with their recommended photographer Warren from Howell Jones Photography. You’re going to adore all the floral prettiness – and this is an extra special day because the sunshine played out all day so even the meal was served in the gardens!

Bex and Chris chose a hot and sunny May day to get married – remember the crazy hot summer we had last year? This is pretty much where it all began! Beautiful bride Bex wears a divine boho wedding dress, light and floaty for the summer sunshine. The softly sparkling beaded belt and delicate lace cap sleeves are simply wonderful. Chris looks so handsome in a tailored grey suit with purple tie and pocket square. Sophisticated sunnies complete the outdoor groom look!

Isabella and Paul at Bath Assembly Rooms with Bristol wedding photographer Martin Dabek Photography (45)

Today’s wedding is elegant and timeless, with styling touches which are perfectly on trend, and images which take my breath away. The gorgeous bride and groom are Isabella and Paul, who met seven years go. Paul proposed at Christmas, and the wedding happened in March… with just 3 months to plan everything I think they did an amazing job!

Isabella wears a stunning Rosa Clara Couture wedding dress, which she bought from The Wedding Atelier in London. Paul’s son gave Isabella away, and their daughters (in stunning green gowns) were the bridesmaids.

The old Rolls Royce Isabella arrived in actually belonged to Paul’s grandfather. He used to go to the beach with his grandparents when he came on holiday to the UK years ago – Paul is actually from Canada, and the maple leaves on the place cards are a nod to his home country. Other place cards had an oak leaf for England.

Join me today for gorgeous Sarah & Rob’s wedding in Hertfordshire, with tons of creative details and special personal touches, and with a fabulous bunch of recommended wedding suppliers who helped bring together this stunning Micklefield Hall wedding. Our bride and groom celebrated in The Great Barn at Micklefield Hall, and chose Buckinghamshire wedding photographer Damion Mower to capture their day. I’m proud to say Damion is an English Wedding sponsor and was voted as the 2019 Wedding Photographer of the Year, South Central region, at The Wedding Industry Awards!

Rob and Sarah were wed in March, choosing Micklefield Hall for its impressive Great Barn which really lent itself to their country casual wedding style. The flowers brought a softness and colour to the room, including the venue’s own flower screen which is part of the venue for couples who use the barn for their ceremony. For the marquee, which was perfect for the drinks reception, Sarah & Rob added more decoration to make sure it was dressed for the occasion – outdoor and table signs, photo displays and cute touches with a bicycle theme (as Rob is a keen cyclist). I love it – I really hope you do too!
