Megan & Jacob’s gorgeous wedding in Seaham, County Durham | Joss Denham Photography

An incredibly beautiful wedding from the North East of England today, with sublime images from lovely Joss Denham: one of the very best photographers in the region. Megan and Jacob’s day is stunning: elegant and understated with faux florals which are genuinely breathtaking. It’s a joy to be able to share their gorgeous images and heartfelt words about favourite wedding suppliers. As always, more favourites will appear on @englishweddingblog – don’t miss them!
Wedding photography
Our photos were mostly candid ones with some posed. They were edited in mixture of coloured and black and white edited which is what we wanted too and we got amazing photos from each part of the day! They were gorgeous and also captured the stunning aspects of the venue perfectly.

Wedding photographer review
I would absolutely recommend Joss to anyone, he was absolutely amazing! He honestly became part of the day and we received so many comments from friends and family about how friendly but also unobtrusive he was. The pictures he captured were stunning. Neither of us love getting our photos taken and we knew we wanted to go more candid vibes – Joss did this perfectly and made sure we didn’t feel like we were spending the day posing for photos. Even the ones where we did go to specific places in the venue to take it just felt like time with my husband, rather than being forced to pose for photos – it was actually nice time away from the business of the day. Joss also had a good knack for capturing the stunning-ness of our venue in the background of photos too, so they were super well placed! We can’t thank him enough honestly!

Wedding venue name + review
Dalton Old Pump House in Seaham.
We loved the aesthetics of the Pump House – its the best combination of old and rustic, and glamorous with all the chandeliers. We used to think we’d marry in a Church, but the Pump House ceremony room let us have the vibes of a Church without having to move venues mid-way through the day. Their evening room is literally unreal and as soon as we saw it on one of our first viewings nothing even came close. The suite to get ready in on the morning with bridesmaids also was a selling point. I’d definitely recommend getting married there as the people who own it & work there are so lovely and can’t do enough for you!

Florist name + review
We wanted our colour scheme to match the vibes of the Pump House, so we had a lot of dark greens & whites in our floral arrangements, mostly made up of different types of white reflex roses and small white flowers. They were from My Little Wedding Fairy and were not real, but of such good quality and I can now keep my bouquets forever!

Wedding cake maker name + review
Our cake was a gift from the Groom’s sister and was a surprise on the day! We just wanted something plain that went with our overall white/green vibe and weren’t bothered about the flavour, as neither of us are huge cake people! It ended up being gorgeous and just what we wanted, a simple one-tier white cake with beautiful floral decorations wrapped around.

Wedding wear
Tell us a little about your outfits
I found my dress after shopping with my mam and it was from Blue Bow Bridal.

I absolutely loved it! I tried on a fair few dresses with my mam, mother in law and bridesmaids before hand and had an idea in my head of what I wanted before trying anything on and the dress I got fit some of those expectations but not all! I ended up with a dress that had an alternative fabric pattern, like jaquard because I fell in love with it, even though I had thought I’d go for a plain material.
Styling and personal touches
We wanted our colour scheme to match the vibes of the Pump House, so we had a lot of dark greens & whites in our floral arrangements & bridesmaids dresses. Our table ‘numbers’ were place names from some of our favourite fantasy books e.g. Navarre, The Shire etc, with quotes relating to Love from these books too.

Wedding ceremony and readings
We both love Lord of the Rings and fantasy books so walked down the aisle to Concerning Hobbits!
