Adam & Jessica’s elegant wedding in Lindley, with Joss Denham Photography

Published by Claire Gould on

A super sophisticated Manor House wedding with bridesmaids in black and the most incredible chandeliers! This beauty of a day was sent in by Yorkshire wedding photographer Joss Denham. Groom and bride Adam and Jessica call him a wizard – “He is a master at what he does and as a result, the outcome is unbelievable.”

I’m blown away by how beautiful Jessica and Adam’s wedding is. The flowers are stunning; the couple’s outfits are gorgeous and they both look amazing. Jessica wears a Halfpenny wedding dress from The White Closet. And the candles lining the wedding tables in Manor House Lindley‘s Coach House create the most enchanting atmosphere!

We wanted the day to be elegant, classic and chic. We had a black tie theme for the whole bridal party so the men all wore bow ties and the bridesmaids wore black. Our flowers were white roses. In the wedding breakfast, we kept the flowers to a minimum and instead went for large collections of candles on the tables. This helped us to create the intimate, romantic and chic feel we wanted for the day. This looked even better on all the photos!

Wedding photographer review

The images are incredible. There is no other word for it. We had preview images within 3 days of getting married (some of these were bank holidays!!). These helped us to live in the moment that little bit longer. The images themselves are perfect. Joss has managed to capture all the key moments of our day – we have stories we talk about when we see particular images and this is exactly what we wanted. The photos tell the story of our day. They are natural and candid in the best way. They have managed to capture all of the love and joy we felt on the day and we couldn’t be more grateful. We love them and so do all our families. My mum has watched them countless times!

Joss is a wizard. He is a master at what he does and as a result, the outcome is unbelievable. Having watched him work at Jess’ sister’s wedding, we knew he was the photographer for us. Joss was relaxed, funny and managed to seamlessly blend into our families. The biggest compliment we can give him is that so often we didn’t realise he was there whilst shooting photos, but felt part of the family in between! We’d both been to weddings where the bride and groom disappear for a long photoshoot in the middle of the day or people’s views of key moments are obscured by photographers and we knew this was not what we wanted. We wanted to spend our day with the people we loved. With the people we had invited to spend the day with us. Joss ensured we could do this whilst also capturing the ‘Vogue’ style shots that everyone wants. He is amazing. We are now desperately trying to convince our parents to have a vow renewal so we can have him back – he really feels like part of the family!

Venue name + review

We got married at Manor House Lindley. It was completely perfect and we would recommend it to absolutely everyone. The venue felt intimate and chic which was everything we wanted for our wedding. The fact that the hotel only has a small number of rooms meant that our favourite people could stay with us and debrief the entire day over breakfast. All the staff at the venue were incredible from start to finish – nothing was too much trouble, they ensured the day ran seamlessly and felt like part of our wedding party celebrating with us.

The venue made their own macaroons which we’d had when we stayed before the wedding. They are amazing so we ensured they were a part of the day! We had arancini balls and lamb skewers for our other canapes. For the main meal, we had apple sorbet to start followed by pork belly (so so good!) For the main, we had a chicken dish which was one of the best things we’d ever eaten! For dessert (the best part), we had the Lindley lemon tart. All the food was absolutely amazing – we had so many compliments about the food throughout the day! For evening food, we wanted to go for a fast food theme so we had truffle dogs, mini burgers and cheesy churros.

Dress or suit shop name + review

I visited ‘The White Closet’ to try to find my perfect dress.

I chose a two piece from Halfpenny London which just felt like me but more me. I’m not a super girly girly and it’s hard to explain but the dress made me feel extremely comfortable and special all at the same time. It was the only dress I tried on which made me cry (and most of my family!). It was the dress I could see myself getting married in and I just knew it was the one. It was the dress I left excited to try on again.

Florist name + review

The florist came recommended by our wedding venue and as soon as we saw photos of their work, we knew they’d be perfect for us. We chose white roses and gypsophila for our flowers. We wanted them to be entirely white so they would look elegant and chic. We couldn’t have been happier with the flowers on the day – they looked simply incredible. Everyone commented on how incredible they looked in the venue.

Cake maker name + review

We love cake! This was a hugely important detail for us! We wanted the decoration of the cake to fit with the theme so it was entirely white with a black bow and our initials written on the lower tier. On the bottom tier, we had bramble and orange. The middle tier was red velvet (which looked incredible with the white icing) and the top tier was sticky toffee pudding. Everyone at Where The Ribbon Ends was so brilliant with the design of the cake and it was so delicious!

Any crafty projects or special styling touches?

We used wedding newspapers to give people key information including the seating plan and who was in the wedding party. We loved these and they gave the guests a little momento from the day! Jess also had her mum and dad walk her down the aisle giving them both the credit they deserve!

Beautiful wedding music

During the day, we had Rhian Evans on the harp. She is so incredibly talented and was the perfect accompaniment for our ceremony and drinks reception. She was able to play a selection of classical and more modern songs. Having live music during the ceremony and drinks reception was so special. The DJ was absolutely brilliant and really kept everyone on the dancefloor for the whole evening. We had guests bargaining with him at the end to play just one more song!
