Have you got a lovely Sunday afternoon planned? I have a treat for you today: the most beautiful Bowes Museum wedding – a venue I’ve driven past many times but never had a proper look at… and it’s magnificent!

This is a perfect, romantic and classic English wedding. The images of the bouquet are gorgeous; beautiful bride Claire and her husband Rick look such a wonderful couple and I love their portraits – so grab a cuppa, nestle into your favourite Sunday armchair, and enjoy!

“Claire and Rick are just the loveliest people, we got on like a house on fire straight away and spent a lot of time together during our first meetings and engagement shoot which i think just made us so comfortable we were more like friends.

The day being at the AMAZING Bowes Museum was probably the highlight for me, as a photographer working there is just brilliant as it has so much character and beauty it made creating lovely images easy peasy!”

There are too many things to love about Alex and Andrew’s wedding: the bride herself is stunning, her groom equally as gorgeous 🙂 The modern calligraphy lettering on their fabulous letterpress stationery is a winner for me instantly; the flowers are divine, and the styling of the day comes together so beautifully to create a fabulous English wedding.

The flowers are spectacular: “Adam Prest was our florist for the day, Katie and I met Adam a few weeks before the wedding and the whole experience was magical! Adam really has the gift of creating exactly what you have in mind with little direction. I wanted a woodland feel with pops of natural colour, Adam certainly exceeded our expectations.”

Happy Thursday lovelies! How are you this crisp December morning? It’s a special day (my parents’ wedding anniversary – happy anniversary!!!) and I’m celebrating with a really magical wedding on the blog – I think you’ll love it. I love weddings which are stripped bare of fluff and which focus on the true meaning and reason for the day of celebration.

Don’t get me wrong: I’m a lover of fluff… but I adore romance and I sort of think it’s a responsibility of wedding bloggers not to get too carried away. Today’s wedding is everything it needs to be; I’ve said many times here that intimate weddings are my favourites. All you need is each other – and the smiles on beautiful bride Natasha and her hubby Gareth’s faces are testament to that.

Durham wedding photographer Chris Randle got in touch and I had a proper nosey around his blog – so this wedding is one I chose for an English Wedding Blog feature. It’s beautiful, romantic, and special. I feel so lucky that Chris was there as Natasha and Gareth’s photographer: being able to feature intimate weddings with beautiful photography is such a privilege for any wedding blogger.

Morning everyone! I have a lovely, romantic and heartwarming little tale for you today. Oh! And photographs of a gorgeous English wedding from County Durham. This is beautiful bride Lisa’s wedding – because she’d always wanted an intimate wedding. Her husband Mo wants a spectacular celebration… but we’ll come to that later!

In a nutshell, today’s bride and groom decided to have two weddings. A little one, and then a massive party a year later. What I love most is that the intimate wedding turned out to be way more than just a formality – it was just about as special as you could ever imagine.

I’ll let wedding photographer Nadine Van Bilijon explain more! This is the email she sent to me a few weeks ago:

“Next year, Mo and Lisa are planning a pretty spectacular wedding at Castello di Modanella in Tuscany with friends and family arriving for a week to celebrate together which is very much what the groom wants.

Oh, don’t worry – there’s more to today’s English Wedding Blog post than a first dance photo… but this one had to come first: how captivating and romantic a moment and an image is this?! You’re going to love this Durham Castle Wedding, I promise!

With every wedding I blog, I ask the couple to share their favourite moments from the day. Their responses are what sets each wedding apart. Jenn’s reply stopped me in my tracks:

“Sitting at the top table with my new husband, looking around at all the people who mean most to us & feeling full up with love.”

This is what weddings are all about. Not the details, not the planning, not the dress or the readings or even the ring. The love. I hope you’ll enjoy today’s blog post for what it’s truly about: volumes of love which sing higher than anything else you’ll see today.

With photographs by Holden & Jones, and a fantastic wedding report by gorgeous couple Chrissy and Jenn. Enjoy! (I know you will!)

Nina and Lee’s wedding is sheer elegance: having chosen the magnificent English wedding venue of Lumley Castle for their big day, the style for their celebrations was already set in stone… 14th century sandstone, perhaps?

Lumley Castle is a fairytale wedding venue – a grand and impressive Grade I listed building near the city of Durham (and believed to be one of the most haunted buildings in the area!) Its rich history makes it a sumptuous wedding venue – and today’s wedding blog will show you the very best side of Lumley Castle.

With beautiful images by Durham wedding photographer Simon Hudspeth, Nina and Lee’s wedding story unfolds in pictures and with words by the lovely Nina.

Who proposed, and how?

Lee proposed. We went on a weekend trip to Copenhagen and he had many weeks earlier booked the best table in one of the most charming restaurants in the city.
