Meg and Jack’s unforgettable theatre wedding, with Lisa and Neil Photography

Published by Claire Gould on

We love a wedding with a little wow. Actually, we’re head over heels in love with Meg & Jack’s utterly WOW wedding. The venue is amazing, the newlyweds are stunning – it’s all just too beautiful for words.

Images are by lovely Lisa & Neil Photography. The breathtaking and unique ceremony was on stage at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds and the evening reception was held at Culford School.

How did you choose your photographer?

They took us out for coffee and they were so knowledgable and put us both at ease. They made us feel so completely unique and special.

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

Absolutely. I cannot recommend them enough. The pictures were stunning – a match of classic and arty. My husband hates pictures of himself and said it’s the first time he’s liked any pictures of himself! And they made everyone feel so at ease. In fact, they are one of the aspects of our wedding our guests still sometimes comment on! They impressed everyone.

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

It was where we met.

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?

I’ve wanted to wear my dress every day since. I had a friend do my wedding dress fitting and it was brilliant because I really trusted her.

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness

We weren’t going to but at the last minute our flowers we grew didn’t come out as we’d hoped. We got someone local who did our bouquets and decoration for each table. Simple but beautiful.

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

Cake by Louise (based in Ixworth, Suffolk) made our cake. Another local vendor. Her cakes are stunning and she was so flexible about making anything we wanted.

Did you personalise your vows or have any wedding readings? What were they?

Our favourite reading was by Tolkien as we both love his work.

What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?

We didn’t have one. Jack hates dancing. We had a ladies’ dance to girls just want to have fun as our first dance.

How did the pandemic affect your wedding plans? Do you have any advice to share with couples planning their weddings right now?

We had to postpone but it actually meant we got two weddings so nothing to complain about! It was a small wedding too and I think that made it even more special. The thing that made it more than anything we bought in was our wonderful friends celebrating with us.
