Beautiful English summer wedding with Richard Skins Photography (27)

Let’s relax into Wednesday lunchtime with a beautiful English wedding, shall we? Hattie and Max tied the knot at Helmingham Hall in Suffolk on a beautiful July day. Helmingham itself is a breathtaking venue – and one we’ve never featured on the blog before today! It’s a magnificent Tudor hall with an actual moat, in the grounds of a 400 acre deer park – what more could you possibly want?

I love the lightness of Heidi and Shaun’s pretty Glemham Hall wedding. Their flowers are deliciously pretty daisies with peonies and roses – and they fill my heart with summer vibes! Glemham Hall is one of Suffolk’s most beautiful venues: a 16th century family home surrounded by 300 acres of countryside and with its own 170-capacity marquee which is perfect for elegant weddings. Our beautiful bride tells us a little more about the day:

Our suppliers were mostly local. Karen Lear Florist, Tonia Edwards Cakes, My big Fat wedding disco, Blue daffodil events catering, Ayshea Goldberg Photography, Galley Slaves ice cream bikes. Our wedding stationery was provided by Andrew at Vintage Designs. Andrew provided a very personalised service and was extremely helpful.

I had a natural looking bouquet, with peonies, roses and other garden flowers from Karen Lear Flowers. The colours were pale pinks, whites and lilacs. Flower girls had gypsophila crowns and a small bouquet of mini daisies.

Today’s gorgeous couple Hannah and Tom had plans for a gorgeous outdoor ceremony at Sibton Park… and the sun shone until the very last minute, when it poured. Not to be outdone, they brought everything inside and had a cosy, magical ceremony and celebration indoors. I love the smiles, the laughter, the ‘we’re all in this together‘ spirit of the day, and I simply had to share this wedding with you.

“Our venue wasn’t a wedding venue. It is a country house that you hire to stay in. We just hosted a wedding while we were staying there. This meant I had to arrange getting EVERYTHING for the wedding in so all decorating was done by us. It did mean that it was unique to us and we were able to choose just what we wanted. Sibton Park had had a handful of weddings there before us and the house staff were incredibly helpful. They have since become a bit more of a “wedding venue”.”

The style of Chell and Ben’s wedding is wonderful: this is a themed wedding done beautifully, and it’s a joy to scroll through their images! When this wonderfully sparkly, gold, glamorous wedding landed in my inbox I knew you’d adore every detail…

Oh my god I was obsessed with my wedding dress! We knew the theme we wanted almost straight away; Great Gatsby Glamour. I went online to search for 1920s style dresses and instantly fell in love with the Jenny Packham Eden dress in Platinum. It had 1920’s decadence but with a bridal twist. Effortlessly stylish and beautiful without being over the top. The detailing of all the sequins and beading made it stand out above all other dresses. I am still totally in love with it now and am always looking for 1920s events I can use as an excuse to wear it again. I’m even contemplating bringing it on our honeymoon to the Maldives so I can get some more beautiful photographs in it!

Today’s wedding is stunning… full of sparkles, the most amazing flowers and luscious greenery – and with a gorgeous, smiley bride and groom whose style I LOVE!!! This is such amazing inspo for an autumn or winter wedding, with soft colour tones and thrilling textures to the flowers and leaves which set the scene for the whole day. I adore the venue with those fabulous beams…

My wedding flowers were based around anemones. The foliage was very silver, using eucalyptus. The flowers were grey and deep blue. I wanted the bouquets and centre pieces to be unstructured and informal. They’re by Sarah from Bramble & Berry Www.brambleandberry.co.uk

I didn’t do a lot to the venue as it was very clean and crisp with large chandeliers and modern lighting. I brought in sequin table cloths and we put fairy lights up on the back wall. And I had L O V E letter custom made for us by my friend who is a woodworker.

I LOVE today’s real wedding! It’s soooo pretty… all the delicate pinks and the fabulous venue work together beautifully. And Alex & Gareth are just gorgeous! It’s just perfect, in every detail. If you’re looking for the prettiest feminine wedding style inspiration, you’ll love this!

For flowers we used Myrtle and Mint. They were absolutely amazing! Charlotte was there to answer I had any questions I had, or me changing my mind on things, right up until the wedding. When the flowers arrived, they were more beautiful than what I had expected. I was blown away. I would recommend them highly.

Our venue was absolutely beautiful in its own right, so it didn’t need much decoration. However, we wanted to make sure we put our own stamp on our day and get our personalities across. We made a giant ‘guest book’ with every guest’s photo printed, that they could sign and write a message to us on. We wanted to do something a little different to the traditional guest book and we loved the idea of our guests coming across old or funny photos of themselves and it being a talking point.

It’s really important to me to feature REAL weddings on the English Wedding Blog. For me, that means not importing the most lavish or unusual weddings from overseas photographers, but sharing UK weddings from my photographer friends. And Anna and Dale’s wedding strikes me as one which is elegant, timeless and uniquely English in flavour. They’re gorgeous; their day is simply styled and looks lovely, and I love their images too!

The weather was perfect – sunny skies and a warm summer day for people to enjoy the grounds all day long and well into the evening celebrations.

This wedding was just perfect!  Everything had been planned so carefully and worked so well on the day. The couple are lovely, their colour scheme was elegant – navy, silver and ivory flowers, their venue was idyllic (I love working here).

Anna is beautiful and her choice of dress was exactly what I’d imagined her in too.

I have to confess I’ve neglected my little Vespa over recent months: but seeing today’s wedding makes me desperate to go and play out again! Lovely Suffolk photographer Ayshea Goldberg knows me too well: send me a gorgeous wedding with a Vespa and I simply can’t say no. I love this so very much!

The venue and its floral decorations are super pretty: I know those of you with a love of traditional weddings will adore this. Rosanne is absolutely stunning; Isaac is ever so handsome and that grin for his bride and his Vespa have kept me smiling since the moment I first saw this amazing wedding!

Glemham has a beautiful staircase in the Grand Hall, which our amazing florist decorated with flowers –  but we let the rest of the venue speak for itself. The Rose Garden in particular was stunning when we got married in September. The reception meal was held in the marquee outside, but we kept things fairly simple with tall, elegant centre pieces.

Use local suppliers to save money – so say Helen and Declan whose gorgeous wedding at White Dove Barn we’re featuring on the English Wedding Blog this morning. It’s good advice: there are amazing creative suppliers nestled all over the country and you’ll find them at craft fairs, in art galleries and at the best wedding showcases… even from venue recommendations.

This is a charming wedding for a beautiful bride and her handsome groom – and I love their approach to styling their day. Helen told me, “we wanted to make sure we went local as much as possible – so things like hairdresser, florist, make up were all local to Suffolk… everything else came from recommendations or people that we knew.”

Images are by the superb Essex wedding photographer Greg Coltman, whose wedding photos get a glowing review from the happy couple. “words can not express how happy we were with them – they were stunning and captured the day in every detail.”

I do love hearing stories from all of my brides and grooms whose special days feature on the English Wedding Blog. You’re all so amazing it’s unreal! The tips and advice you share have taught me pretty much all I know about wedding planning… and I know so many other couples are inspired by your words and images every single day.

Today it’s Charlotte and Chris whose beautiful wedding will be published on the pages of the English Wedding Blog. They’re a stunning couple whose words and images about their wedding will stay with me for a long time. I found it hard to select images because so many were just gorgeous. (Happy news: there are loads for you to scroll through! Yay!)

The same goes for tips and advice from the happy couple, but I do love this brilliant advice: “make sure you plan a special exit because otherwise it tails off and you just walk out which isn’t very special. We went for the classic running through the sparklers – it was lovely and everyone got to have fun playing with sparklers as we drove off.”

I do love a barn wedding… and Emma and Gavin’s is bursting with lovely little details which I know you’ll love. They married in October at Alpheton Hall Barns in Suffolk, and included lots of DIY details which are captured in the lovely photos I’m so happy to be sharing with you all today!

Emma told me “I especially loved that our photographer had captured so much detail of our day, having pictures of all the little bits and pieces reminded me of how everything had come together so well“.

The images are by Lorraine Claire Photography. Lorraine was excited to share the wedding with us all today: “Emma was honestly the nicest bride I have ever photographed. The whole day Emma was telling her bridesmaids how gorgeous they looked. All Emma wanted to do was to make sure everyone was having a good time. It was a gorgeous wedding full of happiness and laughter.

Jessica and Sean’s wedding is traditional with a modern vintage twist – combining pretty pastels and soft floral arrangements with a classic cake, venue and wedding dress brings together this quintessentially English wedding beautifully.
A quintessentially English wedding at Priory Hall with Lee Allison Photography (45)

They were married at Priory Hall, Hadleigh, in August last year and I just couldn’t resist sharing this wonderfully sunny, deliriously happy day with you all this morning. I hope you’ll love it as much as I do!

Jessica told me it was important to take time out and appreciate everyone’s company on the day: “all of the people you love in the world are under one roof for this one day – and they’re all there for you two – make the most of your time with them and don’t let anything stress you out“.
