Morning lovely! I’m happy to be bringing you a glorious real wedding today – it’s from last summer when the world was normal, and it’s exceptionally beautiful. I love to see these reminders of how things will be when the pandemic is over: with friends and family and togetherness and joy and love all bundled up into one huggable celebration! Steph & Tom’s day is beautiful – they enlisted our lovely friend and English Wedding member Jo at One Curious Dream to help bring everything together – and it’s fabulous!

Steph & Tom's classic, timeless Magdalene College wedding, with photography by Lina and Tom (33)

Jo at One Curious Dream helped us to figure out what was going to make the most impact but not break the bank. We had such fun driving over to Norwich to meet her in her treasure trove warehouse and choosing all of the finishing touches for our day. Having her experience to help shape, challenge and explore our ideas made the planning process even more enjoyable and exciting. We agreed that we would put all of our effort into decorating the marquee at Barrington Hall as that was where we would spend most of the day, and to be fair Magdalene College doesn’t need much to be incredible! On the run up to the wedding, Jo and her team spent ages getting our long dining tables perfect and managing hundreds of little vases!

The heavens opened halfway through Mila and Paul’s outdoor ceremony… but this amazing couple grinned and got hitched and their day is absolutely beautiful. I love the location – Casa Grande is a historic house with guest accommodation set high above the beautiful twin lakes of Lagoa des Sete Cidades in Portugal – an unforgettable location for a beautiful destination wedding. Mila and Paul booked our friend and top UK destination wedding photographer Damion Mower to capture their day, and the review they left for him (see below) says. it. ALL.

How did you choose your photographer?

Google was a great help! We knew the kind of style we wanted and then it was jut a case of going through peoples portfolios and reviews and working out who we thought we’d work well with and who would really get us and our wedding.
