I LOVE all the details of this wedding… the dried flowers, Thomas’s suit (I love it when a groom wears something different to the norm) and Danielle is just so beautiful – welcome to the wedding of a fabulous couple whose gorgeous wedding DIY and wonderful wedding planning advice will inspire you so, so much!

We were looking for a candid, informal approach to our photography. Someone who could capture all the emotion of the day as naturally as possible, someone that we felt comfortable to be around, and who was also affordable! After researching for many hours at countless websites and suppliers, we came across Damian. We liked the look of his work online and his portfolios, so we contacted him for further details. After meeting him at our home, we knew instantly he was our photographer!

This is one of the prettiest botanicals shoots I’ve ever seen – I absolutely adore the ferns and the tablescapes, and the stationery is just wonderful! Words by Helen at Betty Loves Vintage & images by lovely Sarah Williams Photography

“I am a real lover of colour and pattern, mixing scales and mismatched patterns, I come from a textile design background and have always edged towards busy floral prints, the busier the better! That’s me: that’s my style topped off with a love of vintage crockery, and so far it’s that of a lot of the brides that I have had the pleasure to work with.

I always look forward to hearing about the latest trends in interior design, fashion and the wedding industry, they all have a slight influence over each other, though I am a great believer in the fact that your wedding should represent you as a couple and reflect your personalities, sometimes it’s helpful to gather a bit of inspiration from what’s going visually on around you.

You don’t need 100 or more people to watch him put a ring on your finger. You don’t need the stress of a wedding table plan, huge corkage fees or to spend your day in a crowd of distant cousins. All you really need is you. Intimate weddings with only a handful of guests are my favourite, and beautiful bride Liz and Richard’s day is simply perfect. Don’t you just love that Jenny Packham dress?

“We looked for Kent based photographers online and after looking through a lot of photography we came across Helen’s website and we knew it was the relaxed style we wanted. We contacted Helen to arrange meeting her at a wedding fayre and we instantly clicked – we knew she’d be great at blending in and capturing our special moments.

I love it when a photoshoot like this sends me tumbling head over heels with a flower I never knew could be so lush, opulent and beautiful. Today’s feature is glamorous, brooding and alternative – and breathtaking. Huge thanks to lovely Grace Hill for sharing her dream with us today!

When you have a beautiful married couple and 800 carnation stems, what do you do? You throw on a styled wedding at Captains Wood Barn, of course!

Within three months, I managed to put together my first styled shoot, a dark romantic authentic vintage wedding, with some absolutely fabulous vendors, all relatively local to the area, in Colchester, Essex.

We decided that there would be no gypsophila, or light and airy style with big boho flower crowns – something which seems to be so in fashion at present. Instead, in came 800 gorgeous, punchy carnations in all hues of reds, purples, magentas and creams, a beautiful lace gown, vintage and reclaimed furniture, crockery and even jewellery, a venue situated within acres of picturesque Essex countryside, a horse called Roxy and a very much in love couple.

I thought we’d end the bank holiday weekend with something insanely beautiful. One peek at today’s wedding and you will be hooked!! (Oh – I have to quickly remind all of you lovely wedding suppliers that today is the last day to join the English Wedding Directory for just £30 – click here to find out how!) And now for our incredible wedding… bride Esha is stunning!!! I adore both of her wedding dresses (the red evening dress is a knockout!), her hair and beautiful henna and the bouquet is breathtaking! – and Rehan’s whole look is wonderful (the detailing and embroidery on his jacket is fabulous. More grooms should look this good!!) It’s a fantastic day with amazing details – there is so much here to inspire you, I just can’t stop looking through all of the beautiful pictures.

“When it came to planning the wedding, I spent a lot of time Googling suppliers and getting inspiration from Pinterest. I had a clear vision of what I wanted and so set about creating boards which helped me to visualise and share the look with suppliers. I have lots of creatives in my family, and so I pulled them in to help make personalised decorations with the theme in mind. I cannot thank them enough for their help!

This weekend has me full of thoughts of spring, newness, life and nature – I’m kind of a closet pagan and so Ostara is my thing at this time of year. I’d love to wish you all a happy weekend of reflection, family, chocolate and flowers! Oh, and if you have a wedding business don’t forget you have today and tomorrow to sign up to be a member of the English Wedding Directory for just £30 this weekend!

But first… today’s beautiful bride Charlotte and Adam were married at the beautiful local church in Burleydam, Whitchurch and then had a stunning marquee reception. I love all the gold styling, and their tablescapes are unreal… plus, Charlotte’s bouquet is unique and so, so pretty.

How is your Easter weekend going? It’s been so lovely taking a few days to relax and enjoy our beach. Don’t forget, I’m inviting all wedding suppliers to apply to join the English Wedding Directory for just £30 this weekend – I’d love to hear from you! Now, if I had to use just one word to describe this wedding, it would be happiness. Everything just radiates joy to me… the fabulous smiles of our beautiful bride and groom Nicola and Joe, the cheery, bright barn venue and the special little touches. It’s all just perfect, and so wonderfully summery too!

“The venue was so stunning we wanted to enhance it rather than transform it. We filled the garden with paper flowers we’d made in our colour scheme, and hung bunting and fairy lights in the barn.

I handmade all the bunting – I think I got to about 100 metres worth by the end! Me and my girlfriends also made about 400 paper tulips to scatter round the venue, we hated the sight of them by the end but wine and snacks got us through and they looked amazing on the day.

A sweet, simple wedding inspo feature for your Easter weekend… grab yourself a handful of mini eggs and meet the Jackalope… isn’t this adorable?!! I love the pretty yellow flowers, the baskets of mini eggs (that’s my place setting, that one right there with the eggs… yep!) and I love how characterful this all looks – it’s the wonderful centrepiece who has stolen my heart today! Don’t forget, if you’re a wedding supplier you can apply to join the English Wedding Directory for just £30 this weekend – Happy Easter everyone!

Have you thought about signage for your wedding day – those helpful little details showing your guests where everything is, when stuff will happen, even where they’re sitting? It’s often the little costs which add up on your day, and taking care of these yourselves can save money. Making them pretty is also a lot of fun if you’re a crafty person, and learning how to write beautiful modern lettering is a skill you’ll keep and use for life!

I’m holding two calligraphy workshops in May and June, both in Manchester’s uber cool Northern Quarter. There are still places available for both and I’d love to invite you along. They’re on Friday afternoons, starting at one o’clock and finishing around half past three. The price is £59 and every attendee gets to keep their calligraphy ‘kit’ to take home and play with.

A few weeks ago I shared the most charming luxe barn wedding inspiration from Cornwall with you – the wonderful, cosy lighting and sumptuous bouquet were so popular on our Instagram and I just can’t help coming back to this shoot over and over again. So I’m thrilled to be able to share something gorgeous with you today – a highlights film by lovely Baxter & Ted to transport you lovely people to Cornwall for another look. Those breathtaking views…
