Welcome to Monday, lovelies! I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. We’re beginning this week with a wonderful editorial photoshoot focusing on repurposing beautiful and unusual items for a sustainable wedding look. All the dresses are from Bridal Reloved, who specialise in sample and pre-owned high end designer wedding dresses. Rustic Rentals styled this fabulous shoot with a showstopping wedding cake by Joanna Pyda and Caroline Clements‘ glorious florals, all set in the charming Old Milking Parlour at Cavokay House in Somerset. Everything is captured beautifully by Photography by Chantel.

As both the stylist and décor hire company I set out to create a shoot with a talented group of suppliers which would be both inspirational and aspirational. We wanted the designs used to be achievable for real weddings. We also wanted to encourage couples to consider reducing their impact on the environment by showcasing designs that incorporated re-used items. Highlighting options such as hiring the décor and props, beeswax candles, British grown flowers, recycled paper within the stationery and the re-use of jewels and copper wire within the tiara design. The Venue The Old Milking Parlour at Cavokay House was chosen as it is a converted dairy farm incorporating large woodland areas so perfect for our theme.

Hey lovelies! I have a treat for all of you London brides and grooms: a second part to our feature from this morning. Kensington and Chelsea Ceremony rooms, located in the historic Chelsea Old Town Hall, is the setting for this elegant wedding styled shoot. Many famous couples have graced these very rooms for their wedding ceremony, and Tessa from A Touch of Nevaeh is here to tell us more.

When I first laid eyes on the Brydon Room I automatically fell in love, naturally sun-lit, boasting original parquet flooring and eye-catching new floral arrangements, it truly is any couple’s dream ceremony room. The Brydon Room is the most impressive of the ceremony rooms at the Chelsea Old Town Hall. Its stunning interior is the perfect match of classic and contemporary and this spacious room is able to seat parties of up to 38 guests. Over the years many famous couples and even royalty have tied the knot in this room.

The Chelsea Old Town Hall is a grade II listed, iconic building located in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, so we were excited to style one of the versatile rooms in this historic building; especially as they’d just undergone an eleven month renovation.

Where on earth did Friday come from?! I’m totally chasing my tail this week with some lovely calligraphy work for early bird brides! We’ve also had a lovely response from some fabulous vendors to English Wedding’s January HALF PRICE sale – and you still have time to grab 50% off all Tier 1 and 2 advertising packages on the blog if you join in January!!! With Tier 2, as well as a listing in our UK wedding supplier Directory you also get 3 home page features on the blog throughout the year to really raise your brand profile so if that sounds good to you, email me!

Today’s images on the blog are blissfully creative, romantic and rural. An inspiration shoot for luxury countryside weddings, showcasing some of Yorkshire’s finest. For those couples wanting a truly rural location, Danby Castle nestled deep in the North York Moors couldn’t be a more perfect setting. With a Wuthering Heights aesthetic, the ruins of Danby Castle (once the home of Catherine Parr, Henry VIII’s last wife) stand strong between a landscape of barren moors and deep dales. The weather delivered in true Yorkshire style, flitting between sunshine and showers as the mist quickly rolled in.

Penny and Ben's funfair wedding at Marleybrook with Rose Images (38)

“Marleybrook House is already beautifully styled which really appealed to us. Once we added flowers and balloons we really needed little else. It was important for us not to have to spend lots of time preparing the venue so we could spend time with family and friends who had travelled to Kent for the wedding. We left most of the hard work to our trusty suppliers and Tanith our lovely wedding planner at Marleybrook House.

… because you can’t beat a llama surprise, right?! Honestly, this wedding is everything. Glowing with newly wedded happy vibes, Moran and Danny celebrate their love at Ashdown Park. Their day is magical, breathtaking, beautifully designed and brilliantly captured by our friend and English Wedding member Damion Mower Photography. Morag’s dress is exquisite, unique and different; from the fabulous Needle & Thread. The venue is oh so special – Ashdown Park is in the Ashdown forest, believed to be the inspiration for the Hundred Acre Wood (home of Winnie the Pooh!) – and the converted chapel with its stained glass windows is so enchanting all Morag & Danny had to do was add flowers – which, it has to be said, are stunning!

Ashdown Park Country Hotel wedding photography by Damion Mower (45)

“Our theme was loosely based on a Midsummer Nights Dream style, my dress, hair, bridesmaids and flowers were very ethereal and the original ceremony was going to take place in the Summer House by the lake. The tempestuous weather the night before moved the wedding inside but added a magical twist of excitement to the day.

It’s been lovely to meet so many new faces over on my instagram these past couple of weeks – and lots of you who got engaged over Christmas and New Year! So I wanted to say hello properly, and to introduce myself and tell you a little about English Wedding. I kind of came into this in a weird way, you see!

My name is Claire – hi! – and I live with my amazing boyfriend Steve on the edge of the Lake District, in a quiet village by the sea. When I’m not blogging I’m writing calligraphy, mainly for weddings. I started as a calligrapher in 2005, and as things tend to go a little quieter in winter I started publishing real weddings on English-Wedding.com back in November 2009 (at 6 o’clock in the morning, one random weekend!)

Everything snowballed. I have been switching from typing to dipping into an inkpot on a daily basis ever since! I’ve made lots of wedding friends along the way, and I honestly love the wedding industry we have here in the UK – it’s such a creative and inspiring scene!
