Published by Claire Gould on

Lucy & Jason told us they always wanted their wedding vibe to be classy but chilled – and they nailed it! This is a glorious, sunny wedding with elegant styling and the loveliest handcrafted touches. Huge thanks to the happy couple for sharing the love with us today!

Wedding photographer review

Rachel did a fantastic job photographing our wedding! She was brilliant at making us feel at ease when being photographed, and achieved just the right balance of being friendly and professional. We’ve loved reliving the day through the photos which capture all the best bits perfectly.

Your best moment or memory

Jason’s favourite moment was the car journey from the church to the reception venue, as a chance to spend some time with just the two of us before celebrating with all our family and friends. Lucy loved the speeches and how they perfectly captured our story. She also really enjoyed getting ready in the morning, being pampered with hair and make up.

Venue name + review

We had our ceremony at Wokingham Baptist Church, followed by the reception at Stanlake Park Wine Estate in Twyford. It was stunning to be able to have photos amongst the vineyards, and the two different barns meant we were able to have separate drinks and wedding breakfast / dancing spaces. Plus the food was absolutely incredible!

Tell us a little about your outfits – both of you!

Lucy wore a lace topped, A-line, champagne-coloured wedding dress. It was actually the first dress she tried on. Jason wore a navy suit with grey waistcoat and a pale pink tie and pocket square to match the bridesmaid dresses.

Dress or suit shop name + review

Lucy got her dress from & She Loves Bridal Boutique, which specialises in reduced price sample dresses. Rochelle was lovely, and picked a selection of options out before the appointment. Jason got his suit from Anthony Blay. We both tried to support local businesses when selecting our outfits.

Florist name + review

Our flowers were from Sonning Flowers, and were exactly in line with what we wanted! We particularly loved our flowers for the registry table, which we also used for the top table after the ceremony.

Cake maker name + review

Bake Bella made our wedding cake. She listened to our requirements, and even helped source us a wedding topper to our very specific requirements.

Any crafty projects or homemade styling touches?

Lucy made all the stationery, with the help of an Etsy template and a printing company she found online.
We handcrafted lots of elements of our wedding, including:

  • Hand made paper flowers for our table centrepieces
  • Using a mirror to make the seating chart
  • A wedding timeline made from a pallet
  • Personalised coat hangers for each of the bridesmaids
  • Signage for the guest book, made from corks given the vineyard location
  • Table games
  • The invites, with calligraphy for the envelopes
  • The table names (we made postcards for different places we had been on holiday) and the seating place names

Hair + makeup name + review

Sarah Thorne (Thorne Brides) did Lucy and the bridesmaids hair and make up. She was really friendly and did a great job, following our instructions that we wanted to look relatively natural!

Wedding readings?

We had some Bible readings, as well as a reading from Winnie the Pooh!

Entertainment

We had a DJ and Saxophone combo for the evening which went down well. We even found out that the DJ used to live a few minutes away from where Jason grew up!

First dance song? Playlist recommendations?

Our first dance song was John Legend All of Me. We spent some time making a Spotify playlist before the wedding for during the drinks reception and meal.
