Hermione de Paula: Virere

Published by Claire Gould on

We are in LOVE with Hermione de Paula‘s exquisitely crafted couture wedding dresses… this has to be our happiest, slowest-scrolling day ever, as we pore over every tiny detail in the breathtaking Virere collection.

With enchantingly layered, luxe patterned fabrics, painterly prints and delicious botanicals, Virere takes our breath away, described as “a creative explosion, made with love against all odds.”

Virere | I am verdant, green; I sprout new green growth. I flourish; I am lively, vigorous.

Wisteria Waterfall has our hearts with removable embroidered underskirts welcoming a stunning new evening look for modern brides. Transformational bridal looks are everything going into 2022, and Hermione de Paula is the queen of sensational wedding-to-party dream dresses!

The craftsmanship behind every piece in this collection is inspirational. Take ‘Peony Wave’, an enchanting beauty which took months of hand painting into each pattern piece, with a total of twenty-five metres of hand painting to cover every gown panel – and how incredibly beautiful she is.

A note and a little aside, if you’ll indulge me just for a moment?

Hermione de Paula’s collection images, her gorgeous website and social media are as beautifully diverse and inclusive as any we’ve seen. It’s been wonderful to see Black and Asian bridal models on here today. We checked Hermione’s website and were delighted to see plus size models taking centre stage. There are – shockingly – still bridal brands who could learn so very much from world class names like Hermione de Paula. What an absolute pleasure it’s been to share Virere with you all today.Claire's signature
