Timelessly elegant, untamed florals for Adam & Nikki’s breathtaking Yorkshire wedding, with Jemma Khan Studios and Christopher Western Photography

Today’s wedding is utterly breathtaking: Nikki & Adam’s day was timelessly elegant, beautifully photographed and exquisitely styled with incredible floral artistry. Their Yorkshire venue, Middleton Lodge, looks amazing, with gorgeous greenery bringing nature indoors in the loveliest way. Floral styling by luxury wedding & event florist Jemma Khan is beyond anything I can find words to describe. Christopher Western‘s evocative and timeless photography captures every detail thoughtfully, with grace and artistry. The atmosphere is relaxed and refined, the moments heartfelt, the celebrations filled with love and warmth.

Wedding photographer review
Christopher was beyond amazing from the moment we first spoke to him. We both knew instantly that he understood our vision and was on the same wavelength (and geeking out about cameras with Adam was a bonus). We knew we didn’t want posed photographs and wanted candid shots capturing moments between people and Christopher achieved this and more. His creativity and use of light has captured our wedding perfectly and we couldn’t be happier. It also helps that he is a delight to work with and having him there on the day felt so natural.

Wedding Story
Best wedding moment or memory
My favourite moment was signing the register sat under a tree, watching our guests mingle and listening to live classical music. I was so emotional before the ceremony that this moment was when it all came out. I was so overcome with happiness and relief that we had done it and I hadn’t fainted that I was a bit teary. It was a really lovely moment for me and my new husband to have time together to take it all in.
Tell us anything you did differently – any NEW traditions (or if you had none at all!)
My parents are divorced so I did a first look with both my mum and my dad. Having a moment with both of them before the ceremony was so special and are some of my favourite memories and the photographs to look back on.

I also invited my make up artist’s dog to come while we got ready. I’m a massive dog person and having a little pom running about made the morning so relaxed and happy.

Wedding venue name + review

The venue could not have been better. We knew we wanted to get married there before we had even visited and from the first viewing all the way through to the morning after they were fantastic. Everything was looked after and made easy. We wanted a venue that could cater and where guests could stay overnight – the idea of walking back to your room barefoot and tipsy was our idea of a good night and we wanted that for our guests. Wedding planning can obviously be quite overwhelming but everyone at Middleton Lodge were fantastic and were happy to answer even my most stupid of questions. The food was fantastic and the setting was just stunning.
Florist name + review
North West wedding & event florist Jemma Khan Studio

Jemma was incredible from start to finish.
We had a clear vision of what we wanted: natural florals in keeping with the venue, with a focus on greenery and white flowers. Jemma was so attuned to this idea and executed it so beautifully.

We worked together closely to make sure everything was perfect and she was a dream. We honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. The clouds installed above the table and my wild bouquet that trailed almost to the floor were particular stand outs.

Hair + makeup name + review
Hair – Daniella Makeup & Hair (Lancashire based, covers the UK)
Daniella was fantastic. We had a trial beforehand and tweaked it slightly on the day and it was all seamless. She made the morning so relaxed and did an amazing job with my bridesmaids, mum and auntie.
Makeup – North West England based make up artist Lauren McCabe
Lauren (and her Pom Oscar) were such a natural extension of our wedding. My make up and that of my wedding party was flawless and we had such a laugh getting ready. I could not recommend her more. I felt so beautiful.
Wedding cake maker
My friend made my cake (with a little help from me beforehand) which made it even more special and carried lovely memories.

Wedding stationery
We used their online design function and then assembled our invitations and other stationery ourselves to give it a personal touch.
Wedding wear
Tell us a little about your outfits – both of you!
I wore a strapless satin Abela ball gown with a long train, buttons down the back and a two tier veil. I also wore drop earrings with handmade porcelain flowers and matching bespoke hair pins with flowers that matched those in the floristry for the day. My shoes were glittery Jimmy Choos for a bit of sparkle but they were swapped out for white Birkenstocks pretty quickly!

Adam wore a black tuxedo as our dress code was black tie. The theme was really a black tie garden party – the contrast between formal attire and the walled gardens at Middleton Lodge was irresistible.

Dress or suit shop name + review
My dress was from Abela, purchased from Emma Louise Bridal in Bolton who were fantastic. My accessories were handmade and bespoke from Vivi Embellish. Georgie the Creative Director is supremely talented and I now have treasured keepsakes from my wedding.
Styling and personal touches
I wore some of my aunties jewellery with opals as my something borrowed and something blue. Having that personal touch was something really special to me.
I also really enjoyed the time with my friend making our wedding cake. It made it more than just a cake.
Wedding ceremony and readings
We had two readings – one was a poem and the other a story from my childhood. We asked my two bridesmaids to read them so they had a role in the wedding alongside the other wedding party members.
My maid of honour and Adam’s best man made speeches and Adam’s other groomsmen were his brothers who witnessed the signing of the register. It was lovely to have everyone play an important role in the ceremony and celebrations.
