The best day of our lives: Daniella & Lewis’s Devon wedding, with Younger Photography

Published by Claire Gould on

Today we bring you a glorious sunny wedding with a great supplier list from our gorgeous couple Daniella and Lewis. The happy pair tied the knot at St Elizabeth’s House in Plympton and chose Devon wedding photographers Younger Photography to capture their day.

How did you choose your photographer?

The wedding venue gave us their details. We had also been to a wedding where they were the photographers and they were amazing to be around.

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

Absolutely blown away. We couldn’t have asked for a single thing to be done better. They were professional but also made you feel at ease and had a good laugh which we loved. They kept everyone smiling and laughing all day. They also provided us with a photo booth for our reception which went down a treat. The best choice we made.

What’s your fondest memory of your wedding?

Every single thing. It was the best day of our lives.

Videographer details if applicable – and any thoughts for other couples about having a wedding video?

Summit imagery did our videography and they were incredible. Capturing the whole day for us to look back on. I love the thought of being able to hear families voices and being able to relive the most special day.

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

St Elizabeth’s House in Plympton. We fell in love the second we drove up the driveway. Just the most beautiful venue, modern but classic. Not too big but held just the right amount of people for what we wanted. The service was incredible from the start of the planning process right until the end.

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was your shopping experience, was it fun to find your wedding gear?

Lewis loved his suit! He had been looking at the same suit for a long long time and him and his groomsman looked so smart. The pocket watches which we gave as gifts topped them off. The wedding gown was not so easy. Being short and quite small built, some of the dresses made me look awful. I cried in the middle of the shop on the stage whilst Adele was playing in the background. Luckily the bridesmaids were on hand with tissues. I only liked one dress out of the hundreds I tried on. Funnily enough the dress was named ‘Lucie’ by the store and the shop assistant helping me in and out of the dresses was also called Lucie. I went back, tried it on again and completely loved it!

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness

Yes – Hannah Burnett Florist. We had the most stunning wedding flowers. We also had a single flower pinned into the back of each chair sash which looked gorgeous.

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

Whites cake house – Debbie was the loveliest lady ever. Her cakes are delicious and we opted for a huge 4 tier cake with traditional raspberry sponge, lemon, chocolate and carrot cake. Something for everyone!

Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves

I am not the most creative person in the world! I can’t make anything! I did design things and have visions in my head which I shared with the talented suppliers. We used F3 designs to help these ideas come to life. We had shot glasses as favours with alcohol inside. They were small little jars labelled drink me. These looked good on the tables and also got our guests drunk!

What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?

We chose Paul Weller – Broken stones. It’s up beat and we love Paul Weller. We didn’t want anything too soppy as we aren’t keen on slow dancing!
