Here’s a little post I’ve been excited to share with all of you Etsy fans out there! When I’m not falling down an instagram rabbit hole, I’m often tumbling happily down an Etsy slide (is that a thing? I’m totally making that a thing) – and I found these gorgeous wedding treats by UK makers which I’d love to share with you.

Full disclosure: I do this because I love it, and if you love and buy any of my finds from this page I get a little commission as an Etsy affiliate. (Fuller disclosure: I haven’t earned anything from being an Etsy affiliate yet, so this really is more for the enjoyment and pleasure of being able to share things from wonderful independent designer makers!)

A beautifully shot, romantic elopement in Lefkada – beautiful bride Shelby and new hubby Daniel headed away from it all for a dream wedding, and their images by lovely Maxeen Kim are EVERYTHING. It’s been the toughest of years for so many, but I take my hat off to this gorgeous pair for eloping – for focusing on being married, and for staying strong through all the uncertainty of 2020. Shelby is stunning in a Wed2B dress; Daniel’s summer wedding look is from Next. The florals are exquisite – and planner Claire from Lefkas Weddings gets a glowing review from our happy couple!

I’ve jumped at the chance to make the most of every occasion this year – birthdays, Christmas and anniversaries have been extra special. I guess it’s all the romance I’m surrounded by, every single day of my wedding bloggy life! I ordered our V-Day meal from Restokit last night (excited!) and I’ve got my man a few little treats so we can celebrate in style!

Valentine’s Day can be as extravagant or thrifty as you like… many a year I’ve made little ‘vouchers’ (eg ‘I’ll cook up a storm’, ‘movie night’ and ‘one-time-only ironing offer’) – and this time one of my gifts is his fave butterscotch Angel Delight. Yeah I know… But I’ve splashed out on a few little bits, and of course Etsy is my go-to for romantic and creative gift ideas.

So. Lockdown. Here we go… and I’d like to send out a massive hug to all of you. I know this is hard. I know it’s not just about weddings – it’s about loneliness, and fear, and financial crises, and missing people so much it hurts. I know.

I’m staying home. I will do whatever I can to keep our grandparents, parents, neighbours and healthcare workers alive this winter. I only wish we had a government that was more in touch with the rest of us, that would understand the support we all need, and find a means to provide it.

Welcome to May, lovelies. I thought we’d kick off the month with a truly enchanting wedding to lift our spirits. Valerie and David’s May wedding is unique and beautifully memorable, with lilac as the main wedding colour inspired by their favourite flower wisteria, and yellow accents for bright and cheerful contrast and sunshine. Coming from Cambridge and Southern Ukraine, David and Valerie’s day combines their little world in creative ways, with Ukrainian delicacies and wedding games – oh, and the ‘stealing of the bride’ tradition! The look is very much a traditional English wedding, with beautiful sunshine and the most magical sunset over Richmond Park at the end of the day.
