A gorgeous summer wedding with the cutest first look – the couple’s dog Winnie completely steals the show for that moment and it is wonderful! I’m utterly in love with Jess and Ruhi’s day, captured by Pearce Wedding Photography at The Old Kent Barn. Fabulous reviews for some amazing suppliers including Bijou Bridal, JP Video, Jess’s hair and make up team, and the venue staff – so keep reading! Wedding photographer review
From the second we met James, he instantly made us feel completely at ease, and we knew we needed him as part of our day. He got to know us prior to our wedding through video call, and keeping up to date with our social media, so by the time our wedding came around, it was as if we had a (very talented) friend with a camera! His photos speak for themselves really; he captured the day seamlessly whilst blending in with our guests and never taking us away from the moment. The majority of our photos are candid and real, and that’s part of why we love them so much. Our guests absolutely loved looking through our gallery after the wedding, and many mentioned how lovely James was during the day as well. He was truly a pleasure to have at our wedding, and we couldn’t recommend him any more!

Wedding Story
Best wedding moment or memory
We had organised to do a ‘first look’ prior to walking down the aisle, however, Jess was able to get all of our vendors in on a slightly different plan, where Ruhi would be turning around to see our dog Winnie waiting for him in a wedding dress!

Tell us anything you did differently – any NEW traditions (or if you had none at all!)
Instead of throwing the bouquet in a bouquet toss, Jess dedicated her bouquet to her mum instead. Jess gave a small speech to thank her mum, and then everyone danced to ‘Slipping through my fingers’ – her mum’s favourite song.

Videographer name + review
JP Video Kent – he was absolutely amazing and worked extremely well alongside our photographer, James – a real dream team! Our videos are outstanding quality and were turned around quick enough that we were able to watch them back while still celebrating on our honeymoon! Initially we weren’t going to splurge on a videographer, but we are so incredibly glad that we did – Jack was worth every single penny!
Wedding venue name + review
The Old Kent Barn We could not speak any more highly of The Old Kent Barn. The venue is obviously so incredibly stunning, but what really stood out to us was the staff. The team simply could not do more for us throughout both the planning process and the actual day. They don’t leave a single stone unturned and their attention to detail is admirable. Our guests even commented throughout the day at how lovely and accommodating the staff were. We really could not have asked any more from them.
Florist name + review
Our family friend, Pauline, did all of our amazing florals! (And absolutely smashed it!)
Hair + makeup name + review
Bride’s Hair was by Blowdrys Kent
Bride’s Make up by AL Makeup Bridal
Bridesmaid Hair & Make up – Amelia’s Bridal Hair & Make up
All the girls worked amazingly together and made us all feel so beautiful. Our hair and make up even withstood the extreme heat of our August wedding day!
Wedding cake maker name + review
Ruhi’s mum Fiona made our wedding cake! Three tiers of our favourite flavours (including a gluten free brownie so the gluten free Maid of Honour could have a bite!)

Stationery designer’s name + review
Jess (the bride) designed all of the wedding stationery, from save the dates to invites to personalised menus for each guest! Not to mention our wedding newspaper!

Wedding wear
Tell us a little about your outfits – both of you!
Ruhi – A double breasted beige suit, a floral pink tie, pink socks and buckled dress shoes.
Jess – A strapless lacey princess style dress covered in sparkles with detachable sleeves. Jess also wore a 3 by 3m long sparkly veil and white heels which are actually called ‘Ruhi’ shoes (by the brand!)

Dress or suit shop name + review
Groom and groomsmen suits were from Slaters. The bride’s dress was from (multi-award-winning) Bijou Bridal in Faversham. The team at Bijou were so amazing and accommodating, even with a large and very opinionated entourage!
Styling and personal touches
Every detail was thought through and given a special touch. It was important to us that our loved ones felt the love. From personalised fans, to bedazzled walking sticks for our grandparents (which we matched to their chosen outfits!)
Wedding ceremony and readings
We had a stunning outdoor ceremony, making the most of the beautiful grounds at the old Kent barn and the August sun. We had personal, heartfelt readings performed by Jess’ mum and Ruhi’s dad.
Wedding planner name + review
The bride! – Jess didn’t include a review here, so I (Claire) will add that the evidence is in the photos that she did an AMAZING job!
