Romantic and whimsical English country barn inspiration

Published by Claire Gould on

I can’t even begin to tell you how utterly adorable today’s blog is! It’s an absolute treat to be sharing this gorgeous inspiration with you… and a glance at Hannah Brookes‘ photos will tell you why.

The images are stunning, the styling just perfect, the light and photography out of this world. There are sustainable elements which we LOVE: the flowers are locally sourced, seasonal blooms for a summer wedding. The mix of colour and texture in the bouquet is wonderful. The floral chandelier and archway are just incredible!

It’s really important to say that we share styled photoshoots to help if you’re looking for ideas. You’ll find inspiration here, but we encourage you to interpret the look in a way that works for you and your budget. Take little ideas from the looks created by the team on the day – and of course, if you’re looking for wedding suppliers in Yorkshire do check out the talents in our supplier list!

“This is classic English country garden wedding inspiration with a romantic and whimsical twist.

We wanted to create big, showstopping floral centrepieces using seasonal and locally sourced flowers, and we felt that Sedgewell Barn was the perfect, blank canvas backdrop.

We wanted to show what is possible to style in the space and provide real wedding inspo to engaged couples.

Birdcages and Dragonflies provided all of the furniture, styled everything to perfection AND brought a graze platter to boot.

Our couple, Rebecca and Rob are a real couple, married in real life in 2020.

Rebecca wore a beautiful gown from Treasured Brides, complimented by Rob’s suit from Haworth Menswear.

The cake with the most stunning and intricate sugar flowers was provided by Folia Cake Design, who of course brought some cake for us to sample and we confirm it is delicious!

The star of the show was the venue’s very own confetti pony – Pedro! Happy to pose for the camera and fully aware of his own fabulousness! What a genius idea for the confetti baskets!”
