Good morning lovely! An early post today because I’m off teaching a Christmas calligraphy class in the Lake District (so excited I can’t tell you! We’re doing wrapping paper and baubles!) And so today’s creative wedding photoshoot was just perfect to share with you right now. It’s just so beautiful! The flowers are incredible and I adore Julie Michaelsen’s photography. (I was lucky enough to have Julie send me some photographs of my calligraphy back in 2017 and have been in love with her work ever since!) The look is beautifully styled by Lamp Productions with stunning calligraphy by Judy Broad and the most excitingly creative cake from Nevie-Pie Cakes – see the full supplier list at the end of the feature!

“Set in the heart of the Surrey countryside in England, Millbridge Court is a contemporary, exclusive use wedding and events venue. We decided to choose Millbridge Court for our shoot as we knew we wanted to shoot at a countryside venue. Luckily, Millbridge Court is within easy reach of London and it has a relaxed, refined luxury feel to it. Not only is it such a unique venue with a naturally rural yet contemporary and elegant feel, but it has a stunning interior and is flooded with light all year round.

Let’s relax into a wedding style feature which is opulent, lush and sophisticated, shall we? Today’s blog is all about elegance, with timeless looks inspired by Price & Prejudice beautifully brought to life at Cornwall’s luxurious Burncoose House. Janna from Wild and Free Photography teamed up with stationer Caroline from Love Tree Designs and stylist Natalie Blake to bring a timeless elegance to this enchantingly beautiful wedding shoot.

Inspiration came from Jane Austen’s romantic novel, Pride and Prejudice, as well as using old world decor to give a truly authentic feel. The colour scheme was inspired by a combination of forest greenery which surrounds Burncoose House paired with gold which represents prosperity and grandeur. Burncoose House in Cornwall has us stepping back in time to the Georgian era with its classic architecture, grand staircase and ornate features throughout, which fitted perfectly with the vision.

Situated under the grand staircase was the most opulent cake by Christine Jensen from Peboryon, that shows off her detailed sugar work and styled by Natalie Blake with draped material and candle light.

They’re as breathtaking as ever – and I just know they’ll be even more stunning in the flesh. Ailsa’s signature touches are ethereal, floaty fabrics and a gentle, natural movement in every piece she creates. The Armada Collection introduces delicate blue hues, and a chic jumpsuit which is bang on trend for 2020.

Warm out there, isn’t it?!! I’m loving how summery I’m feeling this week – and just before I take my little packed lunch to the beach (because I’m the luckiest wedding blogger and it’s like 2 minutes’ walk!) I have this stunning summer wedding to share with you. Beautiful bride Victoria got in touch with me a few weeks ago. She married Stephen last July and chose a quintessentially English theme for their wedding day.

I loved hearing about Victoria’s dress: it was handmade for her by a family friend, along with her mum’s dress and the four bridesmaids’ dresses. Victoria was really involved in the process, and able to choose the fabric (Thai Silk), shape (A-Line) and detailing on her dress. Silk covered buttons ran all the way down the back of the gown, with the top button covered in lace from Victoria’s grandmother’s wedding dress. Oh, and pockets! Her dream dress looks fabulous – as if it were made especially for her – and it was!

Ahhh… I’m LOVING writing blog posts for you this week… because it’s summer on my screen and that makes me happy! Hello lovelies! Today’s all about the pretty on English Wedding… gloriously soft and feminine pinks with romantic table styling, silk ribbons and a lush bouquet. This palette and look would be wonderful in a contemporary marquee or garden wedding reception, or an orangery with views onto beautiful gardens. Huge thanks to lovely Jenna from Wonderland Invites for sharing it with us – this is so damn beautiful!

When my Instagram friend from the states announced she’d be in the UK to shoot a wedding, I knew it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to work together in person. I messaged Ryann of Ryann Lindsey Photography and she was up for the task!

We decided to push for a London based shoot, and my search began. I was over the moon when Chelsea Physic Garden accepted. As a working garden open to the public, they don’t frequently allow photoshoots; as such, it was an amazing opportunity we were handed by the marketing team there. To compliment the lush greenery of the gardens, I opted for a pink, mauve and white colour scheme which would bounce beautifully off the floral and fauna of the surroundings.

I just adore the winter styling – this talented team prove you can have a stunning wedding full of florals and pretty, romantic touches – even in the colder months of the year. Some of my faves are here with a glorious bouquet of anemones and white roses, and hyacinths in the table arrangements to give a wonderful fragrance too! Somerley Estate sits right on the Dorset and Hampshire borders and is the stunning backdrop for this inspiration shoot.  A privately owned home and wedding venue, the house was designed in 1750 and has been in the Normanton family for five generations.  Somerley is gorgeous, (very) grand and has a lot of history.  With this shoot I wanted to bring a little piece of understated contemporary style to blend with the traditional luxury surroundings.

The colour palette combined grey with teal and soft apricot and I chose to blend silks by Kate Cullen with contemporary acrylic and copper materials.

The stationery was beautifully designed by Georgina Read Creative, on cotton combination paper with torn edges and featured a lovely copper seal detail. In fact this was one of my favourite details!  The stamp used was THE Somerley stamp and is hundreds of years old.

Eva Tarnok is a wedding photographer I love to work with: she’s taken some of the most beautiful images of my calligraphy; she has a love for the kind of pretty which perfectly suits a quintessentially English wedding.

Today’s inspiration is just so lovely: Morden Hall is a classic setting and needs little extra decor. Spring flowers and a pastel cake covered in tumbling, delicate foliage and pretty blooms set the scene, along with my calligraphy. The dress is pure romance… Kate Edmonson has something uniquely beautiful, don’t you think?

Baby, it’s cold outside… but you know, I’m still loving snuggly jumpers and sneaky hot chocolates and evening cuddles… winter has a spirit all of its own and I’m in no hurry to see the end of these chilly, beautiful days. But I’m biased: I’ve been completely and utterly won over by today’s gorgeous winter wedding inspiration. The word wonderland was made for the beauty you’re about to see… a combination of a luxe winter wonderland with a hint of silver, fluffy cotton candy, and geode crystals.
