Totally embracing the fresh start thing today – English Wedding‘s had a little makeover with a new logo and we’re updating behind-the-scenes stuff to make this space amazing for you!
I can’t quite believe we’ve been here since the end of 2009. That’s 15 years of wedding ideas and inspiration – and the changes I’ve seen have been huge.
What stays the same is YOU. The couples who come to this website looking for wedding planning advice and inspiration. You’ve fallen in love, you’re looking to create an incredible celebration and share your commitment with the world. We’re here for you!
I am full of festive spirit today! It’s our last blog before Christmas and we have an absolutely gorgeous, sparkly twinkly Christmassy wedding which I know you will LOVE!!! The newlyweds are Katy and Simon, married at Northamptonshire’s Fawsley Hall with images by Sky Photography. I’ve been so excited to share this wedding with you, and I’m thrilled that Katy’s written all about their stunning day including fabulous reviews for her favourite Northants wedding suppliers. As always, I’ll share favourite photos on instagram (@englishweddingblog) but for now, grab yourself a cosy cuppa and scroll slowly – this is one of the loveliest Christmas weddings I’ve ever seen!
Our penultimate wedding before the end of the year is an absolute beauty. The venue, breathtaking Skipton Castle. Autumn & James said their vows below a beautiful old church window with no glass – only the sounds of trees and nature, and champagne corks popping outside as they were wed! The couple look fabulous, the images are just wonderfully romantic thanks to Joss Denham Photography, who gets an amazing review from the happy couple!

Aside from how utterly stunning today’s featured wedding is, one thing really struck me when I read about Corine & Neil’s wedding celebrations: the time of day they made their vows. This wedding was sent in by luxury wedding planner Elegante By Michelle J, who says “We always recommend later ceremony times at destination weddings in hot countries – no one wants to say ‘I do’ under the burning mid-afternoon sun!” I would love to see later ceremonies become a summer wedding trend here in the UK as well!
