Does English Wedding accept guest posts?

Published by Claire Gould on

One thing English Wedding doesn’t do is email wrestling with SEO agencies. So, rather than spending hours of my life (oh, because English Wedding’s admin ‘team’ is me, Claire) reading and responding to digital media companies, I thought I’d write a straightforward explanation of what I do, and what I don’t, and what I would never, publish on English Wedding.

English Wedding is a publishing platform for independent UK wedding business owners.

That means:

  • English Wedding members, who are sole traders and small businesses (e.g. wedding planners)
  • Wedding industry thought leaders (e.g. authors covering important topics like marriage law reform)
  • Wedding photographers, videographers, planners and stylists
  • Wedding celebrants – honestly, top of my list right now – I adore celebrants!
  • Wedding stationers, jewellery makers with collections specifically for weddings, cake designers, florists, decor and hire specialists
  • Ethical wedding caterers, indie pizza truck & food cart owners
  • Independent, thoughtful wedding venue owners
  • Tailors, seamstresses, dress and suit designers
  • Calligraphers (I’m one. Calligraphers are amazing.)
  • Suppliers to the wedding industry itself: coaches, course creators, admin wizards
  • Wedding supplier associations (for photography, celebrants, planners etc)

I don’t publish generic wedding content.

That means:

  • Press releases sent to a bunch of publishers all at once
  • Articles generated from ‘clever’ Google research (I honestly don’t care where the most expensive city to get married is)
  • Pieces written by content writers who aren’t directly involved in weddings
  • Articles with links to print companies, big jewellery brands, and similar SMEs
  • Launches or collections from brands who will pay a PR company thousands, but won’t spend £180 on our Starter Membership package for English Wedding
  • And if you’re even thinking of reaching out on behalf of your casino/gambling/tacky hen & stag brand, please take that nonsense elsewhere

EDITORIAL GUIDELINES: English Wedding Website

  1. Original, human-written content only: no AI please!
  2. Personality, in-depth wedding expertise and genuine storytelling
  3. Human means real stories: if an article is written by a human, it should, somewhere, include “I…” to bring personal perspective.
  4. No overly promotional copy: articles should be helpful, never salesy.
  5. Please write with warmth and empathy, as if you’re writing a letter to a friend or jotting down a conversation you had.

Inclusivity

English Wedding celebrates all couples and welcomes diverse representation across cultures, identities, and abilities.
Our articles aren’t just for “brides”: they’re for all of the people who are planning weddings.

Tweaks, edits and publication

I may edit your copy for grammar and spelling, and also for SEO optimisation to benefit both of our brands. This will always be done sensitively, and with a light touch.

Please ensure any paid content fits with all of the guidelines above. This will save time for us both going back and forth with corrections and amendments!

Suggested article length: 500 – 1,500 words. It’s more important to write naturally and keep your words interesting: writing to a set word count can be unhelpful, so there’s no hard and fast rule here.

Claire Gould

Hi, I'm Claire, the editor of English Wedding. I've been sharing real weddings, planning advice and styled editorials by amazing wedding suppliers for more than ten years. As a supplier myself, I launched English Wedding as a platform for UK wedding businesses to stay visible online, publishing their beautiful work in a meaningful way - because I see how deeply suppliers care about everything they do. English Wedding has evolved to support a slower, more sustainable kind of visibility for wedding suppliers. Being published here protects your brand voice while helping couples discover your business, building trust through consistent features over time.
