So happy Valentine’s Day to you!! I hope whatever your plans, you’re feeling loved and blessed this morning. I’m getting ready for a really special friend’s wedding tomorrow and I can’t wait!! So I think we’re doing all our Valentine’s Day stuff on the 15th… we’ll miss the rush in the restaurants and have a wonderfully cosy meal!

I had to save up something really special for the blog on Valentine’s Day of course. This is a breathtakingly beautiful bridal shoot, loosely based around a romantic ‘French style chateau’ in the New Forest, Hampshire. Thank you to lovely Frances Moore for sharing it with us – if we weren’t all feeling loved up already, oh my goodness am I in the mood for a little romance now!

Have the most wonderful day everyone!

Charlotte Wise Photography & Frances Moore teamed up to create this beautiful French inspired bridal editorial. The look is elegant and feminine, using soft blue, white and grey to keep the styling timeless. Charlotte’s images are naturally light and feminine, with a relaxed and romantic style I absolutely adore. Her fine art photography style is perfectly suited to Hale Park.

Dominique and Nick’s wedding is beautiful – gracefully styled with exquisite florals and elegant touches throughout. Their venue needs no introduction: Pendrell Hall is one of our faves here at English Wedding HQ. Dominique looks so lovely in her dress, although she admits to having her bridal ‘moment’ when she fell in love with her shoes! (which are gorgeous!!) The focus of this fab couple’s wedding is most certainly on family, and that’s what we love most of all. Involving your children in your wedding is so important, and will make the day so much more special and memorable… even if you do end up lying on the floor in your wedding dress having Thomas the Tank Engine driven across your hair (seriously, one of my fave pics! Don’t miss it at the end of this blog post!)

Today’s beautiful bride Alexandra describes her wedding to Elikem as “a collage of vintage pastels, silver screen, Motown and total euphoria!” – don’t you just love that?! Their day was themed around Motion Pictures. “El and I are huge film fans so our invites looked like movie tickets and each table was named after one of our favourite films.”

Inspiring style with personal touches and a gorgeous vintage twist! A Bromley wedding by Teddy Pig Photography (2)

Due to the time of year I researched and suddenly came across the idea of having dried flowers which were so different. I had never seen a Bride before with dried flowers and the bouquets on The Artisan Dried Flower Company‘s website were stunning. The flowers really complimented El’s tweed suit too.

We wanted our wedding photos to be as natural as possible and to reflect our personalities. Kerry’s previous shoots from various occasions were original & fresh but with a vintage twist.

“When I first saw this beautiful wedding dress by Watters at Agape Bridal Boutique, I was completely smitten! The nude colour tone and the tulle ruffles – it was so feminine and different!

“We just had to create a shoot based entirely around this dress not only for our own creative fun but also to showcase it!

“The English Countryside setting was perfect with the wild buttercups and luscious tall grass and this gave us the idea of a bouquet which looked like wild flowers that had been handpicked.

We then had the idea of scattering some of the pink lisianthus blooms along the skirt of the dress.

You don’t need 100 or more people to watch him put a ring on your finger. You don’t need the stress of a wedding table plan, huge corkage fees or to spend your day in a crowd of distant cousins. All you really need is you. Intimate weddings with only a handful of guests are my favourite, and beautiful bride Liz and Richard’s day is simply perfect. Don’t you just love that Jenny Packham dress?

“We looked for Kent based photographers online and after looking through a lot of photography we came across Helen’s website and we knew it was the relaxed style we wanted. We contacted Helen to arrange meeting her at a wedding fayre and we instantly clicked – we knew she’d be great at blending in and capturing our special moments.

I love today’s shoot – all the greenery is stunning, it’s wonderfully styled and absolutely beautiful. Botanicals is such a beautiful trend, and lush green leaves are key to styling this year – today we show how to incorporate a whole lot of fabulous textures into your botanicals inspired wedding.

The ideas here are wonderful – from a fabulous team of wedding suppliers whose vision comes to life at the fabulous Highcliffe Castle, in the gorgeous Wintergarden room with its glorious windows and light. The stunning bouquet of ferns and anemones is amazing; the metallics of the tablescape and cake are the perfect contrast with all the green… I hope you love it – please do Pin away to your heart’s content!

More than anything else I value true craftsmanship and style in the wedding industry. Mass-produced, bland styling touches turn me cold… but show me breathtaking style from independent designers and I fall head over heels in love. Today’s wedding inspo comes from the very best: creatives, artisans and designers whose work I truly adore.

Paper magnolias, calligraphy and dusky blue ethereal beauty - bridal inspo by Jess Petrie Photography (38)

A few simple – but beautifully crafted – details can go a long way on your wedding day. Choose statement pieces and use them sparingly: a stunning dress; a unique and different bouquet and hair accessory – these are the details which will make you feel incredible and ensure your day is truly special. The blue dress is Eden by Claire Pettibone – a stunning favourite from her beautiful Couture Collection, supplied by Yorkshire’s White Room Bridal Boutique. Paper magnolias and the stunning floral hair accessories are by designer and illustrator Amy Swann.

I do love how weddings give the perfect opportunity to glamour things up to the max. Today’s celebration is beautiful and then some. A statement bouquet, a gorgeous bride in the most fabulous dress, and such a stunning venue! Every detail is just wonderful… I do hope you love this as much as I do!

Glamorous Gatsby wedding from Prestwold Hall on the English Wedding Blog (18)

Our theme came from my love of the Great Gatsby, I’ve watched the film and read the book a million times. The whole day from the invitations to the decorations and dress were inspired by the 1920’s era, featuring quotes from the book and patterns from the art deco period. With me being a designer for a living it was really easy to translate the designs from the invitations across to the rest of the theme for the wedding.

This is wedding inspiration at its prettiest – a gorgeous wintry inspiration shoot combining  an exquisite contoured dress and a modern twist on the iconic beehive. The beautiful bouquet and buttonhole – by Charlotte from Moutan Flowers – is both textural and delicate. The bouquet continued gorgeous globe thistles, pretty pink cool water roses, the rich black dahlia, and snow berries for an added delicate pink and cream colouring.

Creating an editorial shoot for Wasing Park has been something I have wanted to do for a while, its gorgeous grounds, and diverse wedding buildings enable you to create something truly unique. My favourite space has to be the summerhouse: its charming mural of pale blue, almost oriental in style, creates the most perfect backdrop to a wedding.

Claire and Nico’s wedding is fabulous – full of pretty homemade touches and all with the help of their wonderful family and friends. The flowers are stunning, the rustic wooden props and accessories look gorgeous!

“Our wedding was the happiest day of our lives… totally perfect! I wanted something really chilled and relaxed, nothing too styled or formal. It was very much a homemade affair styled around the English countryside, relaxed, and shabby chic!

Lots of the bits and pieces were homemade. My amazing mum made 180 metres of beautiful bunting, the cake (and not just one – there were so many practice runs that we were all sick of the sight of cake by the time the wedding arrived!), the wedding favours (lovely vanilla fudge) and far too much else to mention. I spend weeks steaming labels off jam jars and covering them in twine, making the table plans by hand and so on…

You know when nature creeps into the cracks of a wall on an old industrial site…? I love that. Life prevails. Beauty wins, and today we show a transformation which will turn your wedding venue world on its head. You really can be married anywhere. I almost wonder if an abandoned warehouse space could become a more beautiful location than a stately home? After all, we’ve kind of done village halls now… Claire

The magic is in the contrast. An urban, industrial backdrop filled with handcrafted and botanical details: handwritten calligraphy, botanical illustration, a delicately crafted and stunning wedding cake. There are feather garlands to soften and add texture and hand cut paper flowers for a chic, modern DIY look. Dresses are by the one and only Claire Pettibone, styling is by Sheffield’s gorgeous Nina Marika, and the sublime images are courtesy of lovely Jess Petrie.

I’m a bookworm, and proud! And I love a wedding with a venue full of books… if I could get married in the village library where I spent many happy hours as a little girl I think I would, you know?! So today, a treat: a beautiful English wedding from Somerford Hall with a wonderfully bookish theme and the loveliest couple ever: Becky & Gareth.

Somerford Hall wedding blog with Esme Fletcher Photography (39)

“Somerford Hall didn’t need a great deal of decoration as it’s so beautiful anyway. I asked for a few handmade and personal things in each room (there are so many rooms!), including vintage glass bowls filled with sweets, Jane Austen-themed bunting on the bar, and little wooden hearts on loops of ribbon. I made little framed paper crafted items, such as a list of all of our important dates, such as when we first met, and when we moved in together. My sister also updated some pretty horseshoes with ribbon and pages from old books – those horseshoes had been at my grandparents’ wedding!”
