Destination weddings in the UK are definitely a thing. We’re head over heels in love with Malissa & Max’s wedding in Cornwall – the vibe is relaxed seaside, the look is fresh and modern, and our couple are clearly so hugely in love it’s making us all smiley here at English Wedding HQ! This gorgeous pair are quite possibly the luckiest couple to have booked their wedding just before Covid… and we’re SO happy to be sharing their stunning day with you! Don’t miss their Cornwall wedding supplier recommendations – there are a few names here we’ve heard from our couples MANY times!

I’m wondering this morning if any other weddings could ever rival the joy and celebration of an Indian wedding. There’s just so much going on, so much happiness and laughter. Today our blog is all about Guppi and Gan’s wedding weekend, which has me grinning from ear to ear at all the amaaazing moments. They chose award winning documentary wedding photographers York Place Studios to capture both days, and we invite you to grab a cuppa and scroll slowly… because this is a wedding with so much going on, all captured thoughtfully and beautifully.

I wanted to hug Lisa and Duncan when I read their interview for our blog. They told us, “We’re not big fans of the wedding hype!..Love and fun are all that matter! There is such unnecessary pressure on couples to have the ‘perfect day’.”

Lisa and Duncan planned an alternative wedding to suit them. Lisa's wearing a gold dress and a paper flower hair accessory, and Duncan's in a blue jacket with red tie. They're touching foreheads and smiling, with the sea behind them. By Benjamin Toms Photography in Kent

The wedding media is HUGE, but printed magazines had a rough couple of years in 2021 and 2022. When weddings stopped and guest numbers were restricted, many major wedding magazines disappeared from our shops. The ‘wedding hype’ faded, just a little… and perhaps that’s no bad thing.

I can step out of my front door and see the fells of the Lake District. It’s the most incredible place to get hitched, and as destinations for weddings go, it’s absolutely top of my list! Gorgeous couple Krystan and Abi tied the knot at the stunning Cragwood Country House, and had an intimate wedding with their closest family. Seeing this amazing celebration land in our inbox last week was basically a dream come true! Huge thanks to the beautiful couple for sharing their day with us, and to Jaye Peg Photography for the images.
