Here comes the sun! Part 2 of Olivia and Matt’s country garden wedding
More sunshine for you… with love from Olivia and Matt. Yesterday I featured their beautiful church wedding and we left them stepping out of the church hand in hand… today it’s time for the reception and it’s just so perfect… lush flowers and a sunny and happy day for you to enjoy.
Photos are by Pippa Mackenzie and words from Olivia. Watch out for a wonderfully eclectic cupcake tower — looking fabulous! — and some impressive shapes ‘thrown’ on the dancefloor… and why not listen to the wedding band while you look at the blog post? I’m enjoying their music as I type!
Here comes the sun! An English country garden wedding
Morning everyone! I hope some of you are enjoying a ray or two through your windows this morning… I always remember my teachers saying March “came in like a lion, out like a lamb” — so maybe it’ll be brighter in a week or two. But if you haven’t got sunshine outside this morning, scroll down: the lovely Olivia and Matt are sharing theirs!
Words are written by Olivia (as wonderful a wordsmith as she was a beautiful bride!) and the wedding photography is by Pippa Mackenzie.
An art deco wedding with Pimms and ice cream
Three big ticks of approval: art deco? very lovely indeed. Pimms? Yes please! (it’s been a long day already… hee!) ice cream? Go on then, mine’s a vanilla with two flakes (see above). Seriously though — this wedding ticks all the boxes for a lovely couple, gorgeous details, unique and photogenic venue… and some fantastic special touches.
Sarah and Rich got married at The Midland Hotel in Morecambe back in July. The lovely pics are courtesy of wedding photographer Emma Billsborough — who will always, always be “ElmoBilbo” in my head, thanks to twitter. (Some handles just stick!)
Doing sunflowers with style: Mitton Hall wedding

This cute hand-drawn card for “Miss Payne and Adam” got me first. Then I fell in love with the sense of camaraderie at Alexis and Adam’s Mitton Hall wedding. The icing on the cake was — well, the gorgeous little cake sculptures which are little adventures of quirkiness all to themselves.

I feel as though I’ve followed Alexis’s wedding planning journey a little, and I was excited to see her wedding day — I’d heard all about the lovely lady from my friend and wedding photographer Jonny Draper months and months ago when we first met.
Louise and Will’s Manchester wedding (Showcase)
Morning everyone, I hope you’ve had a lovely week. As things are still a little at sixes and sevens here in English Wedding Towers* I’m sharing another treat from the English Wedding Showcase blog with you today. This is Louise and Will’s wedding — or a part of it.
My fabulous friends and sponsors McAvoy Wedding Photography have been writing up their real weddings as little mini-series over the last few weeks, which I love! It means the English Wedding Showcase is a thriving and busy blog full of real weddings. This is part four (count ‘em!) of Louise and Will’s wedding entitled “In The City” — with my favourite pictures from their day.
Countryside wedding inspiration board
Did you see Tanya and Andy’s countryside wedding on the blog this week? I loved it so much I’ve turned the blog feature into a three-day event! We’ve heard about camping in the countryside before the wedding day, about tambourines in church and the band playing around the campfire, about games and cakes and lavender and campervans…
…well, I had to make you an inspiration board from some of the wedding photographs — all of the lovely images above are by reportage wedding photographer Mark Carey. The details and ideas to take away for your own wedding are:

A rainbow wedding at Celtic Manor House Hotel

Kate and Steve’s wedding is a beautiful splash of colour: if weddings were flowers, this would be a bird of paradise — if weddings were butterflies, Kate and Steve’s day would be a peacock. If weddings were birds… oh, damn.
If weddings were rainbows…

My friend and sponsor Jenny from McAvoy Photography got in touch to share this beautiful wedding with you on the English Wedding Blog. It’s perfect: inspiring, beautiful and I love it for being an accessible wedding with gorgeous character through the colours and feelings the photos will show you.
The best day of your lives… part two
Today on English Wedding blog we’ve got:
- ice cream and dancing
- buttons everywhere!
- graffiti and sunshine
- a campervan, lots of love and kisses
- the best, most creative, fun wedding — part two
Courtesy of the fabulous Lucy West Images and with help again from Rachel and David — the most exciting bride and groom you’ll see and fall in love with (these two are stars, they really are!) here’s part two of what I can only describe as the best day of their lives.

The best day of your lives… part one
Who remembers blinking in amazement and squealing in delight at the couple whose mad, exciting and painty engagement shoot I featured a little while ago? The one where they got covered in it, wrote LOVE on the wall and had to go home painted pink, yellow and blue from head to toe?
It was brilliant. I loved it. You loved it… with all your blog comments it went down a treat. And then David and Rachel got married. And the wedding day is EVEN BETTER! (of course it is… but as creative and inspiring and fun goes, it’s just incredible).
Bouncing and rolling down a hill (wedding blog!)
Understandably, this wedding day had me intrigued from the moment I first heard about it! Bouncy castles, inflatables and a gorgeous village hall? Yes please! Louisa and Dan were married in Lancashire on the 4th of June and chose Neil Redfern as their wedding photographer. Louisa is originally from New Zealand, although now lives with Dan in Cumbria (spooky coincidence: my Gareth is half kiwi, and I’m from Cumbria! How could I not feature this wedding?!)
