Vintage weddings are back in a big way in 2025, and they’re not about copying the past, they’re all about adding meaningful, personal touches that make your day feel uniquely yours. Whether you’re inspired by the elegance of lace, the richness of velvet, or the nostalgia of the 80s, here are some beautiful vintage ideas to inspire your wedding!
Why Choose a Vintage-Inspired Wedding?
This chic, stylish wedding ticks all the boxes. Stunning florals, elegant attire and the sweetest couple who’ve written loads about their fave suppliers for their English Wedding blog. Definitely the first wedding we’ve featured with an F1 simulator – and it went down a storm! As a wedding blogger and calligrapher, the highlights for me are 100% the gorgeous images captured by English Wedding member Joss Denham Photography, and Jodie’s gorgeous lettering – super stylish, and ever so beautifully done!
A blast of summer wedding inspiration to brighten your screens this Monday! This stunning photoshoot was sent in by Sam at Rose Rae Photography and I’m bowled over by all the amazing colour and those utterly breathtaking florals. Take from it what you will: colour palettes to bring joy to your day; the modern wedding aesthetic and joyful vibes; the thoughtful styling and lush, warm tablescape – just remember this isn’t a real wedding: it’s a styled photoshoot designed to inspire your own wedding look! I’m uniquely placed as a wedding blogger from a wedding business background – and so the behind-the-scenes stories of this industry are something I find really interesting.
Authenticity and transparency are super important in today’s world and especially in weddings: so I’ll be following European Bridal Week with interest. In my inbox this week, a press release from the team behind this mega event, celebrating EBW as “providing a window in to the creativity, craft, and passion that shape contemporary bridal fashion“.
I’ve tried my best to hammer home the message that traditions are optional when it comes to weddings… and I realised I’ve missed something really big. I saw a post by Catherine from Silk Garters and it turned so many of my preconceptions on their heads. Because wedding traditions aren’t simply “doing things a certain way because that’s the way they’ve always been done”. And they’re not “following tradition because everyone else is”. Sometimes, they’re all about following in the footsteps of your parents, experiencing a shared, fond memory, or sharing something special. So this blog shares surprising reasons to wear a wedding garter, but the specialness it conveys can be applied to so many other wedding traditions. Over to Catherine…
