What an amazing weekend! The crazy scenes as our Lionesses won at Wembley are keeping us grinning today! Did you see the interviews? Seeing the joy on the players’ faces, hearing their hearts bursting with pride as they ran off from interviews and skidded across the pitch on their knees… WHAT A WEEKEND!!! We are SO happy today!!

Keeping the joy flowing strong on our screens, we’re thrilled to be sharing this elegant celebration for a beautiful bride and gorgeous groom at Mitton Hall, with True Love Optics behind the camera. We spotted Pash & Sean’s stunning Lancashire wedding on instagram a few weeks back and fell in love – and we’ve a feeling you will too!

Wedding photographer’s website

Robert from https://www.trueloveoptics.co.uk/

How did you choose your photographer?

By looking on a wedding planning app and the photographer’s portfolio. It was very important to us that the photos were authentic, natural and captured intimate moments without being forced.

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

We loved our photography. He really impressed us with how he handled guests and the quality of the photos. We didn’t notice most of the time that he was there (which is what we wanted) and he got all the shots we needed and shots we didn’t even know we wanted. He was very professional and assertive and definitely made us feel as though we didn’t have to worry about the photography element of the day as he knew exactly what we wanted and executed it perfectly.

What’s your fondest memory of your wedding?

After the ceremony, my husband and I had a brief ten minutes where we finally had a chance to speak after the madness of preparing for the wedding, getting married and walking down the confetti line. It was just us outside the venue and everything was so quiet. We shared some laughs as we both joked about how mad it is that we has actually managed to plan a wedding and it seemed like it was going half well! Our favourite wedding shot is from this moment.

If you had a videographer, tell us about them!

Jamie Shaw, Andromeda Video Production
A videographer was very important to us because our wedding was during Covid and we had families abroad who we wanted to share the key aspects of the wedding with. My husband was also doing a speech in my native language and it was just too funny to not capture that moment forever. And thinking long term we wanted something to be able to share with our children in the future in the same way other family members had shown us their videos.

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

The venue was just beautiful. It was quintessentially English but with a modern twist and we fell in love with it instantly. We knew it was fate as soon as we walked in.

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was your shopping experience, was it fun to find your wedding gear?

It was lots of fun! We wanted to keep the memories of our wedding and wedding planning within the town we were getting married and we ended up using local suppliers near Whalley. As we are based in south Manchester it meant every appointment for outfits was a little road trip and we absolutely loved it. Everyone was so nice and professional and it made the whole experience so much fun.

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness 🙂

We used the flower shop in Clitheroe. They were amazing and my bouquet was definitely one of my favourite parts of the day. Parts of the arranging were during Covid lockdown so I had to explain my vision to the florist and she executed it beautifully.

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

Zara’s cakes in prestwich made and delivered our cake and donut wall. We’re not usually cake people but we definitely had the most cake that day out of everyone else. It was delicious and we had multiple flavours.

Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves (we love that stuff!)

We hand wrote the names for the table plan (by we, it was mainly Sean). We had some guests take the tags home as they thought they were professionally made – it was a nice task for us as it made us really appreciate how many people were coming to celebrate with us and how much support we had all over the country. Those bits can sometimes be missed in the frenzy of prepping so it was nice to just sit down for a few hours and go through our guest list.

Did you have any wedding readings? What were they?

Touched by an Angel by Maya Angelou

Sonnet 116 – Shakespeare

What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?

Neil young – harvest moon

We used to go to a quiz every Tuesday for three years and this would always be played by the quiz master and we fell in love with it and the meaning behind it was so powerful we couldn’t think of anything else more apt.

Favourite wedding suppliers

Our videographer, photographer and florist were fabulous.

Our wedding dress suppler – Lulu’s in Whalley were exceptional along with the legend bridal designs in Great Harwood who did the fittings.

When the planning is done and the guests on their way, all you want to do is enjoy your day – and gorgeous couple Maruzzella and Ben did just that! The happiness just shines from their wedding photos, which tell the story of their day so beautifully. The happy pair married at Goldsborough Hall in Yorkshire and chose award winning photographers York Place Studios to capture their best day ever.

Yorkshire wedding photography by award winning London photographers York Place Studios

We do love a black-tie wedding – especially for a church and stately home setting, the look is just fabulous. Maruzzella’s all-over-lace wedding dress is absolutely stunning, and along with the elegant floral styling and that amazing calla lily bouquet this wedding oozes luxury and elegance. But it’s the story that wins our hearts. The little glances from bridesmaids and parents, and the look of love shared between the bride and groom… they’re what make our hearts sing!

Documentary style photography from Goldsborough Hall by York Place Studios

Weddings are never just about the couple. As much as we adore those loved-up shots of our brides and grooms on English Wedding, it’s the interactions between wedding guests that are always fascinating. In this wedding we stopped our scrolling for proud parents, massive heartfelt hugs and belly laughs. Oh, and there’s always a little humour in the best wedding photos, so watch out for babies with little baby opinions on events, and other little ones supping OJ from champagne flutes. This is pure documentary wedding photography at its best and it’s just brilliant!

family friendly wedding photography at Goldsborough Hall by York Place Studios

This is a wedding from the summer of 2019, when we were all free to hug, and laugh, and dance and sing our hearts out with no restrictions at weddings. I know all of my wedding photographer friends are back out there capturing amazing celebrations again this summer, and it fills me with joy to know weddings are back.

What makes every wedding unique is the couple at the centre of it all. It’s their personalities, the friends they gather around them and the families who shaped their lives. And yet, these are the things that every wedding shares: the connections between people and the moments that make life so bloody amazing. Without gushing too much… I love publishing our York Place Studios weddings because they capture this essence of a wedding like no other photographers can.

A lovely, romantic wedding from the heart of Warwickshire, with a highly recommended photographer and some great little tips for Midlands wedding suppliers! The details are timeless and feminine, the styling classic in white and pink. Our gorgeous couple are Ben and Kerry, who’ve sent in a wonderful write up of their day and a brilliant review for lovely Alex, Warwickshire wedding photographer at AJTImages.

Ben’s mum made all of our decorations which was so lovely! We had a sweetheart table rather than a top table so we could take some time just the two of us which was really nice as I don’t think we saw each other after that save for the first dance! And I ordered a beautiful charm to go on my wedding bouquet of my grandma and grandad who sadly gained their angel wings before our special day so that was important for me to have.

Wedding photographer’s website

https://ajtimages.com/

How did you choose your photographer?

I (Kerry) met Alex at a Wedding fayre with my mum and after looking through his work and chatting to him I knew I wanted to work with him. I showed Ben his website and he had already photographed our venue before which we really liked

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

Absolutely! Alex and Claire were great from start to finish. We were unfortunately a couple that had to move our wedding and Alex was so accommodating and understanding. We also had a photoshoot with Alex before the wedding to get to know him and that was a great opportunity for us to discuss what kind of photos we wanted. We went for the natural photos with some “posed” photos and they all look absolutely beautiful. Alex and Claire were so professional but fun on the day and they handled our crazy family and friends perfectly! Alex is not afraid to get down on the floor to get some perfect shots and has a good eye for detail. I would 100% recommend Alex.

What’s your fondest memory of your wedding?

Our wedding day went SO quick but we decided to have a sweetheart table for the dinner reception and this just gave us both some time to stop and reflect on our lucky we were to be celebrating our day with all our family and friends. We also had some singing waiters who were AMAZING and again, Alex captured some fab photos from this.

Videographer details if applicable – and any thoughts for other couples about having a wedding video?

100000% recommend it! Alex actually recommended a guy called Graham who owns Two Towers Media and our video is so perfect! Alex and Graham worked so well together so would definitely recommend the dream team!

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

We got married at a venue called Warwick House in Southam. We went for this venue as we just got a really nice vibe from the staff and venue when we went. We both knew this was the place for us. We loved that it was an exclusive venue and our close family and friends could stay over for the night of the wedding. I couldn’t fault Warwick House and the staff were so friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. Again, Alex knew exactly where to get some perfect shots of our venue and worked so well with the venue staff

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was your shopping experience, was it fun to find your wedding gear?

I adored my wedding dress! I went to a local shop called Forget Me Not Bridal Boutique in Nuneaton and Julie who owns the store is the nicest lady! She knew exactly what styles would suit me and despite my appointment being mid covid she made it as special as possible with my mum and maid of honour attending despite there being social distancing and masks! She has some gorgeous dresses!! Ben’s shopping experience was slightly different.. I sent him with two of his groomsmen to try on suits and they ended up having too many beers and forgot to try any suits on!! Luckily we knew what style we wanted and ended up getting some black tuxedos from Next as they have so many different sizes for a great price!

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness

We didn’t hire a florist as Ben’s mum is a florist which we were so grateful for! She is amazing at what she does so she created all of our beautiful flowers and also decorations. Linda made our flower arch which took weeks to make and she made this by hand with silk flowers and it was gorgeous!!

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

Cakes by Sophie Page, could not fault her work. Our wedding cake was delicious and we had so many compliments! It also looked beautiful and it was one thing we didn’t need to worry about as she just got on with it. Highly recommend her and if you check her out on Instagram you’ll see all her amazing creations!

Did you have any wedding readings? What were they?

Yes my wonderful brother did a wedding reading. I couldn’t tell you what it was called but it was so special to have my brother do a reading which is all captured on video so we can look back on it in years to come.

What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?

We chose Stand By Me by Ben E King. I can’t say we chose it for any special meaning because this was definitely one of the hardest tasks of the wedding planning! We just absolutely love the song and kept going back to that one.

I’m wondering this morning if any other weddings could ever rival the joy and celebration of an Indian wedding. There’s just so much going on, so much happiness and laughter. Today our blog is all about Guppi and Gan’s wedding weekend, which has me grinning from ear to ear at all the amaaazing moments. They chose award winning documentary wedding photographers York Place Studios to capture both days, and we invite you to grab a cuppa and scroll slowly… because this is a wedding with so much going on, all captured thoughtfully and beautifully.

Hindu wedding at Shri Venkateswara temple with York Place Studios

The gorgeous pair had a traditional Hindu wedding at the Shri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple in the West Midlands – an incredible place, inspired by and modelled on a temple in Tirupathi, South India. The wedding photography really does tell the story of the day in a way that ‘standard’ wedding pictures often don’t. This is the beauty of authentic documentary wedding photography, and York Place are one of the very, very best in the UK.

Blenheim Palace unposed natural authentic wedding photography by York Place Studios

The following day, the guys changed into black tie for a breathtaking civil ceremony at Blenheim Palace in Oxford, with Guppi in a stunning Indian dress which sparkles in the sunshine.

Blenheim Palace unposed natural authentic wedding photography by York Place Studios

Don’t miss the little flower girl trying (successfully!) to steal the show – she’s adorable! All of those emotional connections with loved ones are so very precious, it’s wonderful to see them all captured here. This is what weddings are all about, and I’ve LOVED scrolling through all the images from Guppi and Gan’s Indian wedding weekend.

For us that’s what weddings are all about: photographing people just being people, making memories not just photographs and trying to capture an essence of who our couples are in our candid, inimitable style. ~ Dom & Liam, London wedding photographers York Place Studios

An ultra glamorous black tie wedding in Devon, with elegant styling touches and a breathtaking venue. Our award-winning wedding photographer friends Andrew and Agnieszka from Younger Photography, Devon captured the most incredible images from Rachel and Duncan’s day. The atmosphere is fabulous, the day looks incredible and we’re in love with Kingston Estate! Rachel looks amazing in her Suzanne Neville dress, with Duncan’s dark green velvet jacket from Moss Bros creating such a striking look for a groom. I have to mention the flowers: Rachel’s mum is a talented paper flower artist at L’Art du Papier, and the hand made roses she created for the table centrepieces are absolutely breathtaking.

How did you choose your photographer?

We came across our Devon wedding photographer on Instagram, and instantly fell in love with their style of photos.

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

We were over the moon with our photographers, they are a lovely couple who made us feel at ease, and kept us laughing! We were very impressed with the little details even when needing a hair pin they had one on hand, they went above and beyond to get the best photos for us.

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

When we first saw our venue we knew it was the place we were going to get married. The Manor House is incredibly elegant and had the most beautiful gardens. Kingston estate has a little bit of everything. A yurt where we had a meal on the Friday with some of our guests staying. A modern barn where we had our wedding breakfast with the most amazing window wall looking out over the maze garden. And then the ultimate champagne bar in the undercroft for the evening.

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?

Rachel and Duncan's Kingston Estate black tie wedding in Devon. Photographer credit Younger Photography

We absolutely loved our outfits. My wedding dress was by the amazing Suzanne Neville. I enjoyed going to lots of different bridal boutiques and then finally we found the one. Initially it wasn’t something I would have picked up but I tried it on and fell in love with how unique it was.

We went for the classic black tie dinner suits for the groom’s party which looked amazing. For a little twist for the groom and best man we went for a dark green velvet jacket which looked incredible in the pictures, just a subtle difference from everyone else.

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness

Rachel and Duncan's Kingston Estate black tie wedding in Devon. Photographer credit Younger Photography

We used hollyhocks florist which we found through the venue. They were absolutely incredible and holly was really accommodating as we wanted to do something a little different.

Rachel and Duncan's Kingston Estate black tie wedding in Devon. Photographer credit Younger Photography

My mum (@lartdupapier) makes handmade flowers, so for the centre pieces on the tables we had real foliage with my mum’s hand made roses. They looked amazing. She also made us a flower wall which everyone was blown away with.

Did you hire a wedding planner?

We had a wedding planner with our venue. Her name was Jodie and she really helped us make everything run smoothly. Any questions we had she answered straight away even when had to re arrange because of Covid nothing was too much trouble.

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

Rachel and Duncan's Kingston Estate black tie wedding in Devon. Photographer credit Younger Photography

Our cake was so delicious, we went for mainly cupcakes, with just one little cake to cut. Duncan’s step mum Val made it for us.

Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves

As the venue is incredibly beautiful by itself we didn’t have to do much decorating. My mum did a lot for us by making the sloe gin for our wedding favours, the order of the day sign which she decorated with her hand made flowers and of course the handmade flower wall.

Did you personalise your vows or have any wedding readings? What were they?

We didn’t have any personalised vows, but my bridesmaid Charlotte did a reading for us which was beautiful ‘on your wedding day’

What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?

We loved our first dance song we had ‘you make my dreams’ acoustic version by Alex Francais. We chose this because we loved the words and we liked the idea of having the upbeat version by daryl hall and John Oates as we walked out after the vows and then this acoustic version for the first dance.

How did the pandemic affect your wedding plans? Do you have any advice to share with couples planning their weddings right now?

We had to postpone our wedding for a year, it was really tough as we had had it booked for 3 years already. But actually it all worked out for the best we had the most incredible weather and our children were a little bit older it was well worth the wait.
