A fabulous tipi celebration in the height of summer. A gorgeous, relaxed and head-over-heels in love couple. Rustic styling, tons of florals, vibrant colours and a party atmosphere. It really doesn’t get much better than this! Howard and Rowena’s wedding venue was the village field in Iwerne Minster, the village where Rowena’s mother lives. By day the field is a football pitch and on a sunny day in August it was transformed with the addition of tipis into their wedding venue! I hope you love this one as much as I do. Huge thanks to Rowena and Howard, and to our fabulous friend and Dorset wedding photographer Robin Goodlad Photography. Do read the groom’s interview below – the story of their day is fantastic! Hey lovelies! I hope you’re having a fabulous week. Is it summer anywhere in the UK right now? We drove from Somerset up to Cumbria yesterday with the car heater on all the way – where’s our sunshine?!! Today though, I have a lovely spring wedding to brighten your screens and lift all of our hearts. Gorgeous couple Chloe & Dan tied the knot in Cornwall, with their two adorable pooches as ring bearers on the day. Their wedding is a DIY affair with 400 (I know, right!!) handmade pom poms (by the bride) instead of confetti, a sparkly fairy light table plan and plenty of rustic touches to really make this a special and personal wedding.
Gorgeous couple Emily & Harry tied the knot at Sharpham House in Devon last May. Theirs was a wonderfully relaxed, country style wedding with plenty of wildflowers – and truly, the floral styling is breathtaking! Harry’s mum arranged all of the flowers with help from family and friends. Emily told me she worked tirelessly in the run up to the wedding and in particular the day before to make everything look so beautiful.
“We went to a wholesale flower seller in Cornwall to purchase all of the flowers and used wildflowers in her garden to help decorate the tables. We had plenty of green foliage to bulk out the flowers and also add colour. In my bouquet were pale pink peonies, blue delphiniums, white freshias and green foliage. The wildflowers on the tables included buttercups and bluebells. We also used plenty of cow parsley and eucalyptus to decorate the venue!
The venue itself is a beautiful old house, so we didn’t need a large amount of decoration. We added a few touches here and there to make it look more festive and like a wedding!
Today’s wedding is everything. I love it – I love the atmosphere in the pics, the excitement (and the nerves) and the celebration and love. The styling is fabulous; it’s elegant with quirky touches. Emma and Paul are gorgeous and their day just totally ROCKS. The weather didn’t quite play ball: check out the “dramatic” October skies over Dumbleton Hall (and – spoiler alert – the rainbow, which obviously brought a few raindrops along with it!)
The images by my fabulously creative and talented friend Sheryl at Oobaloos Photography are literally stunning. You’ll be wanting to grab a cuppa and snuggle down somewhere comfy to scroll all the way through this one! Enjoy.
Dumbleton Hall near Evesham is a 19th-century Cotswold stone manor house set in many acres of gardens. The picturesque lake and black swans were the icing on the cake for Emma and Paul. “It was dreamy and had so much character. Staff were so thoughtful, supportive and friendly. Our guests praised how well staffed the venue was for getting drinks and serving our wedding breakfast. Everything throughout the day went so smoothly with them.”

How is your week going? Do you have sunshine? It’s been beautiful here… I think spring is my favourite season of all when it’s like this! I could almost be on my laptop in the garden right now!
We’ve had a week of beautiful weddings and features, and today’s is a real favourite: the relaxed and elegant styling is fabulous; Lucy & James are gorgeous and their day looks so much fun. It’s all beautifully captured by our friend and outstanding Dorset wedding photographer Robin Goodlad Photography.
Lucy’s Alice Temperley gown takes my breath away. The delicate embroidery and soft, swishing fabric of that fabulous skirt make this a true dream dress!
Having a boho / rustic wedding can still involve lots of styling and creative projects, and I fell head over heels for all the foliage in Lucy & James’s marquee – they made hazel frames running along all the tables and hung hops and other foliage from it – it looks fabulous. Even the bar is covered in hops! I love it!
Becky and Dan’s vintage DIY wedding is perfect, gloriously happy and colourful, and just seems so full of character and fun! Becky describes their day as “Completely DIY and disorganised! Perfect for us!” – and I love it. They tied the knot in church, then had afternoon tea in the scout hut next door and their evening reception was on the local bowling green! The gorgeous pics by Yorkshire wedding photographer Stevie Jay capture the spirit of their day brilliantly – what a fabulous, eclectic and fun couple! Congrats guys, you ROCK!

Stevie was recommended by a friend who is a professional photographer.
Stevie was amazing, we said it was like having a friend there from wedding prep to the evening do. The photos were incredible. I’m not the most confident with photos and I was anxious about seeing them but she captured our emotions perfectly.
The first time we saw our wedding photos we were sat on the sofa together with a bottle of bubbly and I cried!
Morning lovely! We’ve a gloriously colourful and happy wedding to share with you today – it’s beautiful Beth and gorgeous hubby Andy, who were married at Wold Top Brewery in July. Beth is STUNNING in a fabulous Sassi Holford dress, and Andy rocks a stylish Ben Sherman waistcoat & trousers. The colourful florals and styling elements make this a perfect wedding to brighten up all of our Mondays!
Images are by Sasha Lee Photography, who gets a glowing review from Beth and Andy. (Don’t miss their interview below, which is full of advice, ideas and supplier recommendations.)
Happy Monday lovelies! How was your weekend? We were at a wedding in beautiful Derbyshire, so I’m still over the moon feeling happy for my amazing friend Beth and new hubby Peter – we had the absolute best weekend ever. So I was so excited to stay in the wedding mood and share another gorgeous day with you all today – we’re sharing gorgeous bride and groom Amy and Chris’s wedding all the way from sunny Devon, with our friends Devon wedding photographers Howell Jones Photography behind the camera lens!
Amy and Chris were married in August at Colehayes Park near Newton Abbott in Devon. Amy told me their wedding was “The most fun party I’ve ever been to!” and you know what, it really does look that way! They called the wedding ‘Lonkerfest’ – the festival vibe was because Colehayes Park was theirs for over a week so lots of wedding guests stayed over and hung out and partied throughout the week! Amy’s surname is Lonnen and Chris’s is Straker – “together our friends know us as The Lonkers – hence Lonkerfest! It was full of colour and silly-ness – there was no real theme – just to PARTY and have fun!”
Happy Monday, lovelies! How was your weekend? Did you see our FOUR features on English Wedding this weekend? Huge thanks to Jordanna Marston Photography for sharing her best 10 London wedding venues with us on Saturday – that was fab! And we LOVED the sustainable wedding inspiration shoot on Saturday morning. Lovely Charlene‘s wedding videos (Love Gets Sweeter) made the blog look so lovely on Sunday. Meanwhile, we have been sofa shopping and then walking in the mountains… a weekend of two halves! I’m pooped – but happy to be at my desk again and ready to share some wedding loveliness with you today!
Jenn and Jon were married in September at Barley Wood in Somerset, and chose lovely English Wedding member Howell Jones Photography to capture their day. Jenn told us the venue is owned by the YMCA and all the proceeds go back into the charity. They train apprentices on site who look after the grounds and the venue – they have a really relaxed, laid back attitude, but give great constructive advice and support.
Hello there beautiful! I hope you’re having a wonderful day and staying snuggled up and warm inside! While our hearts and minds are full of Christmas, I have the loveliest wedding to share with you today. Issy and Alistair married at Milling Barn in Buntingford at Christmas time and chose lovely Becky Harley as their wedding photographer. The bouquet and styling are insanely beautiful, Issy is stunning in a modern style Maggie Sottero dress and Alistair oh so handsome in his RAF uniform. There are berries and holly and evergreens galore in this wonderful winter barn wedding, and I hope you love it as much as I do!
Our wedding venue was Milling Barn, Bluntswood Hall, Buntingford – a wonderfully rustic barn with plenty of countryside charm. The barn is beautifully decorated anyway so we wanted to enhance what was already there. We cut down ivy from the garden and wound it around the staircase, bannisters, and some hoops hanging on the walls. We bought a mistletoe ball which hung from the ceiling in the ceremony room, and had a big branch of mistletoe hanging above everyone in the reception room. Apart from that we just had LED candles lining the aisle and berry-lined hearts on the walls.
I love the bright colours and the sunflowers in today’s wedding – it’s the perfect little blast of sunshine to brighten up our screens and our smiles when the weather outside is… oh let’s just not look!!! Join me in gazing happily at the gorgeous pics from gorgeous Hannah and Nathanael’s pretty sunflower wedding – it’s glorious!
All the images are by lovely Coventry wedding photographer Hannah K. Photography. Aren’t they fabulous?
Our experience was that weddings are as expensive as you make them to be. We were keen to save money and so got loads of our friends and family involved with everything! Our maid of honour’s mum made our wedding cake, Hannah rented her wedding dress, our friends designed all the stationery and so much more! It was a great way not only to save money, but also to involve people in our process and to make them feel a part of it.
