Tiri & Ed’s Brecon Beacons wedding at Tall John’s House with Studio Williams Photography

The loveliest couple – those SMILES! – for a stunning Welsh wedding. I loved this one for the autumn colours – they worked beautifully for the rustic elegance theme in summer, and make a gorgeous blog for autumn too! Tiri and Ed look fabulous, the day is full of joy, I adore all the help this pair had from their family and friends to create a chilled out, gently and thoughtfully styled wedding day. With fantastic images and lovely reviews for Sean from Studio Williams Photography and Tall John’s House in the Brecon Beacons.

Wedding photographer review
Sean did a wonderful job of photographing our wedding in June in the Brecon Beacons. He was relaxed and blended into the background well to get those all important candid shots. Sean considered our ideas and added and improved them when necessary. He was really easy to correspond with and payments were straight forward. The images perfectly captured the mood and atmosphere of the day. He was trustworthy and reliable. Thank you so so much Sean!
Words from the wedding photographer
“Involving familiar faces mattered to [Tiri & Ed], and it was part of why they asked me to photograph the wedding. We already knew each other, so our conversations began with a level of trust.
They could tell me what they liked, what felt awkward and which photographs they were excited about. My job was to listen closely and help those ideas take shape.”

Wedding Story
Best wedding moment or memory
The groom’s first look, and sitting at our top table watching our guests chat, eat and drink together.
Tell us anything you did differently – any NEW traditions (or if you had none at all!)
We did a family favourites dessert table – a few members of each family made tray bakes and cakes for our desserts. It was a great way to move people out of the space to another to socialise while the dance floor was prepped.
Wedding suppliers
Wedding venue name + review
Tall Johns House – Named as the Best Family-Run Wedding & Hospitality Venue 2026 in the Welsh Enterprise Awards, 2026
A perfect location for an elegant rustic wedding weekend. Accommodation was comfortable, clean and lots of it! The owners were so accommodating and welcoming, and they allowed us to do so much of our ideas. We will be back!
Florist name + review
Carolyn is a friend of ours with previous florist experience. She was the most patient and helpful person to deal with, helped me bring my decor vision to life and made it even better!

Hair + makeup name + review
Philip Mungeam and Abi from Peruke – Hair.
They brought to life a tiny idea for hair and made it beautiful, and tied in to the bridesmaids subtly but appropriately – even when I didn’t know what I wanted.
Pip Southgate MUA — Makeup
My makeup needed to be an elevated, no-make-up make up look as I don’t wear make up day to day and I wanted to still recognise myself. Lightly Airbrushed to perfection.

Stationery designer’s name + review
Sarah Doberska – a graphic designer by trade who happens to be a dear friend. She brought to life the random ideas we had had wonderfully, I didn’t have a clue about so many elements and she checked what I needed and just smashed it out the park.

Wedding wear
Tell us a little about your outfits – both of you!
Tiri – I wore an ivory a-line wedding dress from Wed2B, lace covered, straight necked and strapless. I wore it all day and never wanted to take it off.
Ed – I wore a Moss Bros three piece suit: the jacket and trousers were in light woollen taupe brown and then an espresso waistcoat with a burnt orange tie and pocket square. The perfect colour for a rustic summer wedding.

Styling and personal touches
My dad made the schedule in a pallet and signs around the venue. Fairy lights win every time! Choosing orange and dark green as the two colours worked beautifully throughout, although autumnal in tradition they were perfect for the brief of the relaxed late summer wedding vibes.
Wedding ceremony and readings

Our ceremony was no more than 30 minutes while the sun was shining out on the lawn. Having our own personal vows made it all the more special. Emotions were flying high before the bride even got there, but settled as soon as she appeared at the top.
