New beginnings at English Wedding – and an invitation for independent suppliers

I feel like everything changed when 2026 arrived. Instagram got louder and more out of control, or at least that’s how it felt for me. My wedding friends were talking about AI on socials, and there were podcasts and content creators everywhere saying it was a threat, or an opportunity, or desperately unsustainable. Perhaps I retreated into my shell a little (who wouldn’t?) and thought pretty deeply about how all of this was already affecting wedding businesses online.

In the light of social media and AI search changes, wedding websites simply had to evolve – and fast. Having a wedding blog is something I’ve always been proud of, and English Wedding’s independence feels so relevant right now.

The voices I seek out on social media are the most authentic ones: wedding suppliers talking honestly about our lovely industry. As a wedding blogger I know how important it is for any wedding business to have a human at its heart, because this matters to couples too.

English Wedding began as a classic wedding blog, sharing real weddings and styled shoots. It became a membership platform a couple of years ago, sharing advice and guest blogs for our wedding supplier members. Now, as I’m having more and more conversations with wedding businesses about visibility, sustainability, and what’s actually working for them – it feels like time to share all of this with more of you.

How English Wedding is evolving

This is old news, but worth repeating – the real weddings we feature on this blog are centred around lovely photography and heartfelt supplier recommendations. Oh, and they’re optimised for SEO to help suppliers in a way many wedding websites simply don’t do.

The supplier side of English Wedding is growing. My background is wedding calligraphy (and before that, marketing). I know the value of being featured on wedding blogs is visibility and at a basic level, keyword backlinks. I’ve seen how eloquent and honest wedding suppliers are being on social media – and I love reading those posts. I know they’re really popular, and a few of our existing members were already writing these kinds of articles to share here. So I’d love to publish much more from wedding suppliers.

I’ve made some ethical choices: to refuse press releases which aren’t aligned with this space. It’s led to some interesting conversations with MOSS (it’s all good – we’d like to bring grooms back into the conversation, because the “bridal” industry excludes a lot of weddings which don’t have a bride) and a deep dive into the ownership and business practices of major wedding directories (more on that soon).

The future of English Wedding is:

  • Real weddings (with genuine supplier reviews and beautiful SEO)
  • Styled shoots (to always include supplier / behind the scenes stories)
  • Your stories, expert advice, and honest opinions
  • Above all, a platform for suppliers to get published on…
  • …Exactly how, and how often, is up to you

Why membership matters

I’ve seen wedding blogs featuring a handful of photos and a tiny lump of text from real weddings – and claiming exclusivity so photographers can’t feature it anywhere else for months. Sorry, but… if lovely couples have said their day can be shared, it’s huge for suppliers – wedding blogs should make it count. Sadly, this kind of mini feature happens too often – but never on English Wedding.

I believe in visibility. I believe in blog posts that build trust, that shine a light on suppliers’ personalities and really highlight what a difference they make.

Membership is my way to make all of this possible in a sustainable way which really works – for suppliers, and for the beautiful wedding blog I’ve nurtured for seventeen years.

How it works

Every member of English Wedding gets a dedicated page on my website, a listing in the supplier directory, and the opportunity to enhance brand visibility for search by having articles published on the English Wedding blog.

There are 3 membership levels:

Starter – £15 per month
A gentle way to begin, with one article per year

Contributor – £30 per month
With feature opportunities once every 3 months to grow visibility

Publisher – £50 per month
For monthly features and consistent visibility to build trust
