Our best weddings from 2018! #4 – Rosie & Steve

Published by Claire Gould on

A very warm welcome to English Wedding – especially if you’re just engaged!!! Congratulations, and I hope you LOVE the world of wedding blogs. I’m Claire, I write English Wedding along with all of the brides and grooms whose weddings we feature, and the photographers, stylists and wedding creatives who work so hard to bring you new styling and wedding planning ideas. Over Christmas I’m looking back through our favourite weddings from 2018, and today it’s the turn of gorgeous Rosie & Steve, whose woodland wedding at Rhinefield House in Hampshire is as magical as it is beautiful. Their photos are by lovely Gemma at Romy Lawrence Photography, Rosie’s dress is by Essense of Australia and Steve’s suit is from Hugo Boss.

Check out some more from our favourite weddings collection this Christmas – so far we’ve featured James & Keye’s festival wedding, Tig & Piers’ glamorous celebration, and Daisy & Will’s family-focused wedding. Enjoy!

Back to weddings, and today’s has some of the most breathtaking images I’ve seen all year. Rosie and Steve are the loveliest couple, and their Rhinefield House wedding is captured beautifully by lovely Gemma from Romy Lawrence Photography. Watch out for really unique styling touches and incredible golden hour portraits with more romance than anything you’ve seen on a  wedding blog in your life!  I’ll let Gemma tell you more about this beautiful day. Enjoy!   Claire xxx

I was so looking forward to shooting this Hampshire Wedding and it really didn’t disappoint. The forest location was so divine and created such magical images with it’s rich and earthy tones. This was my first time shooting at Rhinefield House in Brockenhurst, Hampshire and it really did live up to expectations. The house itself is so majestic and it has the most stunning grounds…not to mention completely surrounded by the New Forest….yep it was a bit of a dream. Both Steve and Rosie were getting ready at the venue so it was nice and simple for myself and my second shooter Alexandra (Alexandra Cavaye Photography) to nip between the two for those all important getting ready shots which always take on a different feel to the rest of the day as the nerves and excitement are building up.

We were so very lucky with the weather, the sun shone all day which not only meant Rosie and Steve got their wish of a glorious outdoor ceremony (yay for natural light) but also we got to do their couples shots at ‘golden hour’… which coupled with the location of the New Forest made for the most exquisite images for them both to treasure for the rest of their lives. The forest theme was continued throughout the Wedding, Rosie and Steve had really done the most beautiful job with all the details and it came together perfectly.

The love between this couple was so beautiful to see and it really shines through in the images below, I hope you enjoy leafing through them as much as I enjoyed taking and editing them! Gemma x

We homemade decorations and invites.

It was important to us that we bought the outside in and we achieved this through using real ivy, log slices and pinecones. Steve and I have always been very creative and we wanted the day to be very personalised adding paintings or calligraphy we had produced.

Woodland animals were featured heavily in our decor which made the theme more whimsical, we had great fun personalising wedding tables to suit each animal picked.

Another priority was to find a special photographer to capture our celebration; we found Romy Lawrence Photography on Pinterest and we were not disappointed. Treated to a engagement shoot in a stunning meadow we knew after seeing the photographs a wonderful decision had been made.

With all this said it was the people that made our wedding. We had fun rocking to our band ‘Six Bearded Fish’ and even managed to perform our first dance twice. But most importantly no one can explain the overwhelming feeling of happiness you feel when you see your soulmate standing at the end of the aisle surrounded by loved ones smiling. Best day of our lives.

We cannot think of anything more romantic than saying ‘ i do’ to your bestfriend in the middle of an idyllic forest. There is something magical about inviting nature into your wedding, we wouldn’t have done it any other way.

Your wedding is truly the best day of your life and what really matters is saying ‘i do’ to your best friend. You will put a momentous amount of time into the planning and preparation of your special day, but what you will remember, for the rest of your life, is the feeling of having everyone you care about in one place wishing you every happiness. Spend time with these people before, during and after the big day, they care about you and want to share in your future.
