Hello you lovely people!

Have you had a wonderful weekend? I do hope so. I’ve been teaching calligraphy so I’m having a slow Monday, picking out the things I love most from the top of my to do list, and saving the rest for tomorrow! And very happily for a Monday morning, I have some cakes to share with you… on our screens if not in person! (I wish I had cake!) This month we’ve had some brilliant wedding businesses join us, and today I’m thrilled to be welcoming Amber’s Bakes and Cakes to English Wedding.

New and different is what wedding bloggers LIVE for! And today… well what can I say. Lovely Hannah at Botanical Cakes raised the bar for us. We’re in LOVE!

Stop licking your screen and go and check out @botanicalcakes on insta.

White boho wedding cake, with dried flowers and wafer paper petals

This is one of Hannah’s most requested cakes to remake for people’s weddings. It’s an amazing, showstopping wedding cake and yet still beautifully pale and natural in tone.

Today we have the most wonderful visual treat for those of you who will be having a wedding cake on your big day. Lovely Cakes by Tasha shared images of her stunning cakes with us, and we’re very, VERY happy to share. They’re so pretty we can almost taste them…

This printed cake is one of Tasha’s favourites and we can see why! It’s beautiful to look at, and must be so much fun to design! The top tier is printed edible icing. I’ve spent FAR too long today scrolling through all these photos of yummy wedding cakes. It’s been amazing… and I NEED cake right now! It all began when I found this email in my inbox – professional kitchen suppliers Maxima Kitchen Equipment sent their report of the ‘official’ top 10 wedding cakes. I looked, and I spotted a few I think were missing from the list (perhaps mine are top 20!?). Surely people are out there looking for #alternativeweddingcake ideas?

The folks at Maxima put the hard work in and analysed the average number of Google searches per month, number of Instagram hashtags, and percentage change for online discussions for popular wedding cake styles and designs.
