Wedding Venue Review: Matara
I should reintroduce English Wedding blog venue reviews as it’s been a little while since the last one. If you’re new to the blog (hello!) I ask wedding photographers to review wedding venues they know. It’s a great way to get an expert opinion of a wedding venue and its facilities, charm and atmosphere.
Today, Patricia from Howard Wedding Photography shares her wedding venue review of Matara in Gloucestershire.

Wedding venue review — Kirtlington Park
Kirtlington Park wedding venue is a Grade I listed 18th-century Palladian country house, about 0.5 miles east of the village of Kirtlington in Oxfordshire. It is set in 3,000 acres of parkland, landscaped by Capability Brown, with views over the gardens to the Chiltern Hills.

Kelmarsh Hall wedding venue review
Kelmarsh Hall is an elegant 18th century mansion near Northampton, steeped in history and perfect for a sophisticated and classy wedding celebration. With formal and landscaped gardens, topiary and roses, this wedding venue is perfect for a traditional, classically stylish English wedding.

Photographer Sarah Vivienne’s review of Kelmarsh Hall
Sarah Vivienne is a regular wedding photographer at Northampton’s Kelmarsh Hall and says: “I always look forward to a wedding at Kelmarsh Hall. It’s a very beautiful country house but has such a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. You feel completely at home there.
An inspiring wedding venue visit

Styal Lodge wedding venue visit in Cheshire — a fabulous venue with a unique perspective… and look at that sky!
One of this week’s highlights has to be my Thursday morning — a glorious sunny day and a trip to a Cheshire wedding venue with an inspiring story and a unique approach.
I will be writing a couple of blog posts inspired by my visit to Styal Lodge very soon, but just for now I thought I’d share these gorgeous photos by Manchester wedding photographer Jonny Draper, who joined us for the morning.
Fawsley Hall wedding venue review
Fawsley Hall is a luxury country house in Northamptonshire, combining Knightley Court for smaller, chic weddings and the Main House at Fawsley Hall for luxury celebrations. Parts of the hall date from the 15th century - its history is dotted with barons and viscounts and ladies... needless to say it's a magnificent wedding venue today.

Sarah Vivienne's thoughts on Fawsley Hall
Sarah Vivienne, a wedding photographer from Northampton told me, "Fawsley Hall is one of my favourite Northamptonshire wedding venues.
A very special wedding fair this weekend
There are so many wedding fairs going on at this time of year that I don’t blog them as a rule. But this one’s special — it’s my favourite venue in the UK for weddings, only minutes from my childhood home in the Lake District and a beautiful, enchanting location.
Lake District Wedding Fair at Muncaster Castle
Muncaster is a charming, historic and stunning venue for your wedding day. The castle overlooks a beautiful valley and is set on the main road around Cumbria’s west coast. It’s the perfect idyllic wedding venue, licensed for civil ceremonies and with grand reception rooms and a beautiful private garden for your guests to enjoy.
Your wedding in the roaring twenties — at the delectable Daffodil
Sometimes a breathtaking wedding venue can set the tone for your entire wedding day. If you book The Daffodil in Cheltenham you’ll be whisked right back to the art deco era, as Duncan and Natalie found, much to their delight!
I was completely bowled over by this incredible wedding venue and the beautiful ambience Duncan and Natalie created for their wedding reception.

Would you move your wedding for royalty?
Imagine the scenario: you’ve booked your wedding date, chatted to the vicar and are looking forward to getting married in a picturesque little church that probably means a lot to you… would you move over if another couple wanted it more?
Or, would you move over if another couple just wanted it, and were more famous? Or if they had more money?
The road to Scotland’s first royal wedding in 20 years
The story that Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall are getting married this summer in a church that was already booked by another couple is really making me think this morning. Read the full story on the BBC website.

Sarah Vivienne’s thoughts on Rushton Hall
Northampton wedding photographer Sarah Vivienne says: “I love working at Rushton Hall. The team there are excellent and really look after you. It’s a very flexible venue with lots of spaces to accommodate different types and sizes of wedding. They have a civil licence so you can get married there too.
Hello! And No. 1: The Venue
Well hello! I’ll get the gushy stuff out of the way first.
Well this is a bit overwhelming, isn’t it? Little old me? Blogging on English Wedding? I am honoured, flattered and just a little bit excited, that I get to share everything about my forthcoming wedding and marriage with all of you lovely readers! Thank you all for your votes and your kind support. I hope I can pass on what I have learnt by immersing myself in wedding talk and wedding blogs and wedding decisions — over the past 2o months I have spent engaged to Richard — about love, marriage, weddings and life!
