I can picture it now: natural light pouring in as couples say “I do” in a truly unique setting. Guests taken aback as they enter the Spring Barn, beautifully decorated for every kind of wedding. The cathedral style ceiling and views over estuary waters making the perfect setting for a wedding in a relaxing, natural space. The cries of curlews as the sun sets over what promises to be one of Kent’s most sought-after venues for weddings 2026 & beyond.

The UK has some stunning destinations for a wedding weekend away from home. The Lakes, the Highlands and the Cotswolds are personal favourites for me. Having a destination wedding will make your wedding an unforgettable occasion for you and your guests, while a holiday on home soil saves on air miles and the carbon footprint of your wedding. Today on English Wedding, talented wedding planner Mel from Your Story Events shares her very best tips to help you find the perfect Cotswold wedding venue for you.

I’m so excited to share this with you all! As regular readers will be well aware, The Ferry House wedding venue in Kent is a member of English Wedding and listed in our wedding supplier directory. They reached out to one of their favourite wedding suppliers, Chris Blackledge Photography, to ask him all about their venue! It’s a brilliant read – and wonderful to learn about a place from the perspective of a wedding photographer. (Of course we’ve got some amazing photos from Chris to share with you too!)

Much-loved Kent wedding venue, The Ferry House, has announced plans to build a beautiful new wedding barn in time for spring 2026 weddings. Set beside the stunning Swale estuary between the wild meadows and wetlands of the Isle of Sheppey, the existing Oak Barn, Oak Gazebo and Event Suite have hosted countless celebrations.

The new plans mark the latest in a series of enhancements to the venue over the last decade, including landscaped wedding gardens, a waterside Gazebo, The Coach House luxury accommodation and, most recently, the Garden Lodge – a second ‘readying room’. The next, exciting chapter is to replace the current Event Suite with a stunning new Wedding Barn.
