This BEAUTY of a shoot landed in my inbox this morning. I’d been planning to write about my calligraphy for weddings today, but all the lush greenery and the connection between Rae and  Grey just blew me away. I couldn’t wait to share this! If houseplants are your thing, and the thought of bringing nature inside for your big day sounds amazing, you will LOVE this styled photoshoot!

The amazing wedding suppliers who brought this photoshoot to life include lovely Mercedes from 4YaParty Weddings & Events and Eastbourne’s fabulous Thorn & Found Photography.

This stunning botanical disco wedding with a touch of rustic décor compels a new inspiration for modern weddings.

This beautifully designed concept by 4yaparty also creating décor and props for this styled shoot was a perfect match to Kingswood Arts, a not-for-profit arts centre and cultural hub venue dedicated to supporting its local community through creativity. Based in a stunning 32 room mansion this space was perfect to help create an ultimate rustic disco themed wedding.

Our models, real life couple Rae and Grey portrayed a romantic story within the old halls of this building, beautifully showcasing the designs from each wedding supplier.

Our bride was fashioned with two timeless dresses provided by Couturiosity, paired with inspiring jewellery from Bish Bosh Becca. Hair and makeup from Made up by Ruby was a match made in heaven to bring together our bridal look. Bridal accessories provided by Glorious by Heidi include a stunning crown piece to elevate a classic look and bridal sunglasses for a touch of untraditional styling.

Our beautiful maid of honour Elle Andrews modelled a gorgeous jewel crusted emerald piece by L’Amour Curves Bridal which tied in exquisitely with the theme and décor of this wedding.

Speaking of décor, the floristry by Harleys Flowers finished our couple’s look with a blooming and abundant bouquet and buttonhole piece.

Table stationery tied together the look with unique designs by Twenty Stationery.

The cake by Simply Irresistible Cakes London was a perfect addition for our ceremony, making a wonderful centre piece for the cake table. Matching with earth colours and rustic design it pulled the décor into one.

The light and airy photography style was key to the story that Nick from Thorn and Found Photography wanted to showcase. Finding a photographer to match a certain aesthetic is always important when thinking about how you want to remember your special day.

We are head over heels in LOVE with this gorgeous styled shoot at Kelham Island Museum with real life couple Richard and David. The guys are gorgeous, the styling is dark and decadent with lush greenery and dramatic tones. Stunning stationery sets the scene and an enchanting array of sweet treats looks wonderfully tempting. Richard and David look amazing, rocking Master Debonair suits – and David’s gold crown is an absolute showstopper. Before we dive in, let me say we don’t get nearly enough LGBTQ+ weddings and shoots in our submissions inbox. Today is making us incredibly happy – and we want to see more! Huge thanks to lovely Sam, English Wedding member at Fantail Designer Florist, for sending this in. There’s a full supplier list below for all of you Yorkshire couples!

A natural and rustic wedding breakfast table setting on long trestles, peacock chairs and benches. Beautiful swagged velvet cloth sweeping through the middle of the table added texture and a focal point for the flowers and stunning square wedding cake with floral moulding to the edges.

Raffia placemats wrapped with gold and an elaborate dessert table filled of doughnuts, iced shortbread, brownies and mini cakes entice guests to be seated.
Wedding invites and menu cards are watermarked in emerald and gold leaf while beautiful stone name places create keepsakes for guests.

Photographed by the talented Charlotte from Captured Life Photography. We knew she would be perfect and was a master of creating a story. A staged ceremony backdrop of swagging drapes really softened the fabulous blank canvas the venue has to offer.

David’s crown was the showstopper of the shoot. Designed and made my Glorious by Heidi. Why shouldn’t men wear head accessories for their wedding day? We absolutely love this styling. Flowers for David include a floral shoulder corsage of regimented petals, leaves and berries. Flowers were created simple and elegant for Richard – a compact hand tied bouquet of Veronica framed with Fern and a buttonhole of Thistle, Hypericum Berries and Veronica compliment this against his check navy blue Master Debonair suit.

The love story….. They met through best friends who worked at David’s local pub (years later they went on to take over the very same pub). David was 21 when he met Richard and they’d been together for eight years before getting married. They love spending time outdoors, holidaying and gardening. Their favourite place visited was Prague and they hope to visit the Maldives and New Orleans! They have 2 dogs, a cat and parrot!

Wedding advice? David says “RUN….. No only joking!! I would say just to remember the day is about the both of you and try to enjoy the run up to it and not stress too much. Planning is key to ensure a smooth running of the day. Delegate tasks to anyone helping you with the wedding. Create a WhatsApp group to keep information central with people helping. Make a free website to put on your invitations so guests can check for any changes to times, directions or menu choices.”

Deliciously dramatic photography, minimal styling and a gorgeous wedding suit – from Zara! This blog is all about doing things differently, and allowing your own sense of beautiful to shine: no white dress required! The cake and florals are just sublime, the setting is magical… this is everything and I hope you’ll love it! I have been SO excited to share this one with you. Thanks to our lovely member and super talented flower person, Sam at Fantail Designer Florist for submitting this fabulous shoot to English Wedding!

Attention all brides….. White suit – check! Bird Cage Veil – check! Bespoke Headband – check! Florals and Cake to die for – check!

When we set out to create this shoot we wanted to keep it simple and concentrate on the finer details for the bride. With micro weddings being a dead cert for the years to come, Ange from the Snowdrop Cakery and Sam from Fantail created a stunning shoot with that at the forefront. Adding in ombre pinks and whites you’ve got the recipe for a funky city style wedding that could be incorporated into any venue space.

The venue: Hirst Priory – The Vaults at Hirst Priory is a wonderful space underground with exposed curved bricks that create a cosy, intimate and raw setting for a wedding. For 300 years The Vaults were only known to the occupants of Hirst Priory but now open for couple to enjoy for a truly unique setting.

Sam from Fantail says ‘We wanted to showcase the vaults as a modern setting using vibrant colours and contemporary styling. We opted for hot pinks and whites using a mix of Roses, Ranunculus and Phalaenopsis Orchids.’

The Snowdrop Cakery created a stunningly beautiful tiered cake with waafer waves and sugar paste flowers. Stationery by Sheaf, brought the table setting design together with ombre tones from pastel pink to fuschia pink.

The Zara Suit was definitely the outfit we wanted our model Jourdan to wear. It’s functional, comfortable and dateless for a wedding.
Combined with stunning headbands from Glorious by Heidi and coupled with a veil and birdcage veil by KMR Bridal created this beautiful city chic look we were after.

We used a rose gold Le Vian ring that sparked chocolate diamonds. Balloons were added as focal point to the end of the vaults and to draw your eye towards the ‘Fabulous’ neon sign on the wall. We were spoilt on the day from John who performed mesmerising magic tricks throughout the shoot.
