We wanted to create a wedding look that inspire calmness and contemplation, that reflects the ethos of the Matara Centre and use a colour scheme that would complement that feeling and energy – the varying blues of the delphinium flower was perfect for this, which allowed us to create a monochromatic look that had interest and movement and that fit perfectly in the peaceful surroundings of the venue.
Sustainability was also an important factor in the choices for the shoot: all the arrangements were foam free with reusable mechanics such as wire structures, moss and reusable trays and vessels, and both outfits were borrowed for the occasion from friends and family.
The stationery suite was created with seeded paper so that it can be planted as a reminder of a beautiful occasion. This goes hand in hand with Matara’s ethos of sustainability, diversity and harmony.
We hoped to inspire couples to find moments of quiet to enjoy their precious moments and also wanted to capture the harmony and tranquillity of the venue by setting the chaise longue by the lake and enjoy the glowing light of golden hour, and finishing off with the rush, excitement and joy of the occasion with a champagne shower.
Stunning wedding style inspiration from two of our lovely English Wedding members. We knew when Stockton House got together with Nicola Gough Photography magic would happen. But this, oh this is a whole other level of beautiful. The setting is divine. The images are glorious. The styling is exquisite… you’re going to LOVE this! The floral styling by Big Little Things is incredible (we’d feature these guys every. single. day!), Evelyn & Elliot‘s stationery fits perfectly. Rob & Rebecca look amazing in a Peter Posh suit and dress from My Little Wedding Shop, with Rebecca’s hair and makeup by Mrs Kassi Mac. 
Within the stunning Shropshire countryside, nestled a few miles away from historical market town, Bridgnorth, you’ll find Stockton House. This Grade II listed Georgian property is now Shropshire’s latest wedding venue set to open its doors in 2022.
In the Spring of 2021, Nicola Gough Photography arranged and assembled the dream team of local suppliers to showcase what Stockton House can offer to their clients. This venue is unique; offering luxury, privacy, and tailoring each wedding to each couple individually. Marc and Jonathan, the faces behind Stockton House, are also the owners of award winning catering company, Caviar and Chips, so they are well versed in working closely with couples, ensuring they have everything exactly as they wish. This also means you have the opportunity to craft your own unique wedding menu with their amazing chefs.
Couples have so much choice here; with a civil ceremony licence in the unique one hundred seater secret walled garden dining room, any of the luxurious rooms on the ground floor, or the incredible Victorian turning house. You could also have your ceremony at the historic 11th Century St Chad’s church just down the lane.
Couples can stay as many days as they like, as there are no fixed arrival times and you can leave at your leisure. Every night you stay at Stockton you can enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast for you and all of your staying guests.
