Bespoke poetry can be a wonderful way to tell your story but how do you find a really good poet? A guest article by bespoke wedding poet Kathryn Anna Marshall
What do you want to remember from your wedding day? Cake? Flowers? Chair swags? I didn’t think so. All of these elements have a part to play in your big day but more and more couples are looking for a wedding day that just feels more “them”. A lot of this is about the fact that many wedding traditions belong to our grandparents’ generation, a time when a wedding was between a man and a woman, who lived in separate homes before the big day and a time when a wedding was more about doing what was required than celebrating love.
Today’s wedding is timeless, fabulously warm and sunny, utterly beautiful and filled with personality. Lucy and Alex were married on the Isle of Wight, choosing documentary wedding photographer SJ Jones Photography to capture their day at the Royal Hotel. The couple look amazing, the styling is elegant and with super cute personal touches. Oh, and the views are absolutely out of this world!

If you’re getting married this summer you might be almost ready to send out your wedding invitations. But when’s the best time to post them? How will you know? What if you’re getting married in Europe? Should you send Save the Dates? Are digital invites OK? And as a UK couple, what else will you need to bear in mind before you post your wedding invitations? Save this post for later if you need to: I’ll answer all of your questions so you know exactly when and how to send your wedding invites.

I’ve been singing ‘Bring me Sunshine’ as I write today’s blog because beautiful bride Laura walked in to her Grandad’s favourite song (and it’s totally stuck in my head now!) This is a gorgeous day with lovely personal touches, full of love and stunning florals. I adore the cat cake topper, and the images are absolutely stunning. They’re by Cambridgeshire wedding photographers Sky Photography.

A beautiful summer wedding with amazing images by Kent wedding photographer Benjamin Toms. Joe and Dilini are utterly gorgeous, elegant and relaxed and wonderful together. I adore natural wedding photography like this: Ben’s photography style has always been timeless, authentic and with a focus on the moments that matter more than anything in the world. I’ve saved some favourites of my own to share on instagram – watch out for a collection of hugs on @englishweddingblog which brought a tear to my eye!
