Traditional Kent wedding in an unusual venue, images by Kerry Ann Duffy Photography (8)

This space is the most amazing I’ve seen in a long time – a blank canvas wedding venue in a league all of its own. Gorgeous Nicole & Samuel were married at The Winding House in June, styled their day with elegance and simple homemade touches, and chose lovely Kerry Ann Duffy as their wedding photographer.

“Our venue was such a unique building with its painted white bricks, vintage wood and green trees and banks. THE perfect location and back drop for our wedding. The ridiculously high ceilings made the ceremony feel chapel like which was amazing. Especially with our music playing during the ceremony. The owners Vicki and Paul would do anything for you and go above and beyond to help achieve the best day.

I made bunting galore, so easy and enjoyable to make. I made the table plan, and tree decoration that hung over the top table.
Greta at The little cake company did the most amazing job on our wedding cake, which looked and tasted great. She had so many flavours to choose from. We went fruit, lemon drizzle and banoffee for the top tier (which our dogs stole and ate off the kitchen side post wedding)[!]

7 speeches, pretty spring florals and a Swedish twist make this wedding totally unique, beautiful and captivating. Gorgeous bride Malin wears a beautiful dress from Isabella Grace Bridal with the prettiest lace detailing – and groom Simon looks dapper in Ted Baker. I adore the florals and simple, summery colour palette and I know you will too! Images are by lovely English Wedding Directory member Damion Mower Photography, based in Buckinghamshire.

We looked for photographers online for quite a while. Damion’s portfolio really stood out for us. We also liked his documentary and personal style which really shone through on his website.

Damion was outstanding. He went above and beyond what we expected. We originally had a lower budget for a photographer and learning from friend’s mistakes in the past we opted to pay more and he was worth every penny. Right from the start he insisted on a FaceTime call to really engage and connect about our requirements. The engagement shoot went fantastically well and really built on our relationship with him so we had no doubts on our big day.

Today’s wedding is pure luxury, sheer joy and absolute beauty. Stunning bride Fern married her gorgeous groom James at Sherborne Abbey and celebrated with a beautiful reception at Brympton House in Somerset. Their day is captured by our friend and sponsor, Brympton House Wedding Photographer Martin Dabek, who is based in Somerset.

I tried on over 100 dresses and found it particularly hard to narrow the selection of styles down as I liked too many. My mum and I visited the Caroline Castigliano store in Knightsbridge and the sales assistant picked a gown I wouldn’t have chosen and the second I walked out in it, my mother had a tear to her eye. We then managed to accessorize it with the different trains, veils and belts to create the look for day and evening I was envisaging. The dress was also made to measure which was brilliant as it ensured it fitted like a glove on the day.

Wedding of the century? Keye and James at Chapeldown with Steven Rooney Photography (17)

I guess if we could all describe our perfect wedding it would be something like this: fun, relaxed, gorgeously styled, games, drinks, full of personality, laughter, love, unique. Keye and James nailed all of those – and then some. They added circus and carnival, wow factor, fizz and flames. The opulent floral displays are breathtaking and the styling is oh-so-pretty and perfectly on trend. Their day is spectacularly styled with beautiful summer blooms, calligraphy signage, smoke bombs, brilliant outdoor games – and our gorgeous grooms look fantastic in matching outfits with waistcoats and bowties.

The list of ‘above and beyond’ styling details is just amazing. Stilt-walkers, fabulous carpets lining the walkways between tents, a harpist, an owl ring-bearer, personalised plastic sunglasses in a rainbow of colours (and glorious sunshine to go with!)… but you’ll see from the pictures how incredible a day this was!

I am desperate for summer to kick in! I know it’s only the 4th of February, but still… I can taste spring in the air, I’m sure I can. Maybe it’s these sunflowers…

Katie and Richard are gorgeous. Katie’s dress is just divine, and (as I think I mentioned yesterday!) I do love a couple who choose outfits with something just a little different. Honestly – this is such a personal and individual wedding and I think it’s fabulous. The day is bright and summery, their smiles are infectious, the styling touches they chose for their tipi reception are fabulously colourful and creative…

We met Becky at a wedding fair at Knebworth House. We were so pleased with everything. She made us feel so comfortable throughout the day. She was super chilled out and relaxed which is very much like me and Richard. Her photos were super relaxed and natural. She was so easy to have around which I think added to why her photos were so good as people were relaxed and she was never invasive with the camera. She managed to get some lovely natural photos of the kids who are very camera shy but you wouldn’t know it looking at the pictures. We couldn’t have been happier.

The party of the year at Lily and Philip's Matara Centre wedding with Dale Stephens Photography (14)

We’ve featured a lovely selection of Matara Centre weddings on the English Wedding Blog over the years – it’s a fabulous and characterful venue which somehow makes for the most unique and vibrant wedding celebrations every single time. Today’s gorgeous bride and groom are Lily and Philip, who married in the summer. They were wed at St. John the Baptist church in Tetbury, and celebrated into the evening at the Matara Centre (which Lily’s grandfather owns!) It’s fabulous – you’ll love this! (Don’t miss the stunning floral decorations on the cake!)

Dale was recomended to us. We couldn’t have asked for anything more from our photographer. Before the wedding he organised a free engagement shoot, so he could get to know us. We were a little nervous about this as it is not something that either of us would usually do, but Dale made us both feel so at ease. The photos were also perfect which made us feel a lot more calm abut the day itself.

I love the lightness of Heidi and Shaun’s pretty Glemham Hall wedding. Their flowers are deliciously pretty daisies with peonies and roses – and they fill my heart with summer vibes! Glemham Hall is one of Suffolk’s most beautiful venues: a 16th century family home surrounded by 300 acres of countryside and with its own 170-capacity marquee which is perfect for elegant weddings. Our beautiful bride tells us a little more about the day:

Our suppliers were mostly local. Karen Lear Florist, Tonia Edwards Cakes, My big Fat wedding disco, Blue daffodil events catering, Ayshea Goldberg Photography, Galley Slaves ice cream bikes. Our wedding stationery was provided by Andrew at Vintage Designs. Andrew provided a very personalised service and was extremely helpful.

I had a natural looking bouquet, with peonies, roses and other garden flowers from Karen Lear Flowers. The colours were pale pinks, whites and lilacs. Flower girls had gypsophila crowns and a small bouquet of mini daisies.

I have been saving up this beautiful wedding for so long! It reminds me that spring is just around the corner: the flowers are beautiful, everything is so wonderfully feminine and romantic and seeing the happiness of stunning bride Sam and her handsome groom Martin just has me smiling right back at the screen! This is pure, unadulterated fairytale – the theme will very soon become evident as you scroll through all the super pretty “Happily Ever Afters” – and there’s a healthy sprinkling of glitter and Disney magic too!

I love my photography and I had a very specific idea in mind. I travelled from Leeds to London for the National Wedding Show where I met with Amanda and Hutch. I was immediately put at ease and just fell in love with their style and the beautiful images they had taken. I knew straight away that I wanted them to be the photographers at my wedding.

I love this wedding. The details and styling are fab, Solene and Adam are both soooo gorgeous – and their smiles just make me grin right back at the screen. Their wedding day was Lord of the Rings themed, and it was styled amazingly with their florist really seeing their vision. Their images are vibrant, natural, and capture the spirit of the day so beautifully. Huge thanks to Gemma Giorgio for sending me such a beautiful wedding to share with you all today!

Our venue didn’t need much decoration – the building itself was in keeping with our style. We made placecards with quotes on the back and little hessian sacks as party favours which were stamped with a personalised stamp. Our cake was a naked cake (red velvet, salted caramel and Victoria sponge) as it fitted perfectly with our general theme.

For my bouquet I had pale purple and red roses with foliage, and for the table decorations, lots of moss! The florist was Alison White Flowers. She was amazing! She designed and arranged everything on the big day.

Karen and Richard were together for 17 years before they got married. Their story goes back some way: they were even in the same class at school! Karen told me the best thing about being married is not having to call Richard her partner any more – because it always sounded as though they were in business together! (Honestly though, why has no one thought of a better word for partner… any suggestions?!)

Their Mansion House wedding is pretty, perfect, and full of love and family and smiles all day long. I love the flowers, I adore Karen’s pretty House of Mooshki dress – she looks so beautiful! – and the atmosphere of their day which comes across so perfectly in their images.

Elegance and glamour with plenty of sparkle for a wedding in Cheltenham with Special Day Photography (20)

Matthew and Selina are both musicians, and took inspiration from music when styling their wedding. It’s a wonderfully glamorous day full of sequins and sparkle, with a laid back vibe. The bouquet is breathtaking – and don’ you just love Selina’s glorious hair colour?

“Our wedding style was all about boho glamour with geometric shapes. We took inspiration from our favourite colours, hobbies, styles and eras.
Music plays a huge role in our lives due to both being musicians who met on a music course at university, which is why the table names were the surnames of our favourite musicians. We were inspired by music, the 1920’s, boho hippie style, nature and geometric shapes (the latter due to Matthew’s scientific and mathematical side).

Florals by Foxy Buds for a beautiful English wedding near Bath, image credit Simon Biffen Photography (5)

Today’s featured wedding was a classic white wedding with the most beautiful church arch. A very relaxed elegant feel with lots of involvement from the family – and the prettiest florals you can imagine. I just love the archway covered in flowers and foliage by lovely Caroline, owner of Foxy Buds Floral Design – it makes the prettiest backdrop for photos and has a traditional feel to it which I think is wonderful.

The brief I gave my florist (Caroline at Foxy Buds) was “White with greenery presented in a natural/wild style.” And Foxy Buds completely delivered. I was really nervous before the big day because I had completely overdosed on Pintrest and Instagram and so I thought it would be impossible to bring that picture in my head to life. That nervousness was a complete waste of time – Caroline’s flowers were more beautiful that anything I had seen elsewhere. James and I constantly referred to the word “relaxed” when talking about what we wanted from our big day and that’s exactly the same feel I wanted (and got) from the flowers.
