I love this wedding! The flowers are gorgeous, Laura is simply stunning – I love Andy’s bright blue suit as well – wow! Today’s gorgeous couple were married in June in Herefordshire. Their wedding was a classic English wedding day in the countryside, with lots of pretty touches. Images are by English Wedding Directory member Cassandra Lane Photography, who gets a glowing review from the happy couple!

We got married at Lemore Manor in Hertfordshire (http://www.lemoremanor.com/) – an amazing country house with an amazing staff. Margaret and her team made the day effortless for us – we commented several times that we were so pleased to have chosen Lemore for our venue. Not only was it beautiful, but we could relax and enjoy every moment without stopping to think about the running of the day – Margaret and team had it covered! Special shout out too for Micky, the chef. The food was amazing, we had so many comments on how lovely everything was. The venue and food are such a large part of the day, so we were so pleased with picking Lemore.

Happy Friday everyone! Whatever you’re doing, have an amazing day and don’t work too hard! I’ll be blogging, planning some worksheets for my next calligraphy workshop and getting ready for a weekend of exploring and reaching new heights in the Lake District 🙂 First though, I have this beautiful wedding to share with you, submitted by lovely David of Married To My Camera. I will let him introduce beautiful Sarah and Ben and tell you all about their day. Enjoy!

Sarah and Ben’s wedding was at the gorgeous Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire. The couple are actually my neighbours, so no pressure there then! Both families were staying at King John’s House near to Larmer Tree Gardens and this is where both bride and groom got ready in the morning. It was an outdoor ceremony followed by some garden games and speeches outdoors too, before the wedding breakfast. All the 1000 paper cranes were made by Sarah!

Summer bank holidays are the BEST!! Whatever your plans for the day, enjoy. Relax, have summer drinks in the garden, smile and laugh and be happy. That’s my plan too! And allow me to bring a happy smile to your beautiful face with this gorgeous summer wedding in Cheshire.

Sarah and Simon’s day is truly personal, informal and fun. Their focus was on friends and family, on celebrating and having the most amazing day ever – and they nailed it! The joy on everyone’s faces is just making me smile so much today! The styling touches are lovely, with a definite summer garden botanical feel to everything. I adore the herbs on place settings, the little tags, home made alcoholic favour bottles, terracotta pots on tables and the bold colour palette of blues and purples.

Sarah looks so beautiful in her Joanna Hehir dress, which she bought from the Case of the Curious Bride – it suits and flatters her perfectly. (Do check out Joanna Hehir if you haven’t seen her dresses before – she’s an amazing New Zealand designer.) Simon looks fabulous in his Cad and the Dandy suit – they’re just such a great couple and I’m excited to share their wedding with you today!

Happy Sunday lovelies! Does anyone have sunshine this morning? It’s peeking through the clouds as I write… there’s nothing lovelier than driving back to the Lakes and seeing the sun on the mountains 🙂 Oh! Apart from Kayleigh and Dan’s wedding on the blog today of course! They were so lucky with the weather for their outdoor wedding in beautiful woodlands at Bodenham Arboretum. Their humanist ceremony was touching, beautiful and intimate: they invited friends and family who they see often and will see after the wedding, rather than feeling pressured to invite people they don’t know well – and for me this always makes a wedding much more relaxed and happy.

Images were captured by lovely Birmingham wedding photographer Clive Blair Photography, and have been featured already in West Midland Your Wedding Magazine – but I couldn’t resist sharing them with you again – this truly is a beautiful celebration with lovely touches and Kayleigh has kindly shared their wedding planning story with us all (below the images). Don’t miss it!

We’re all about the elegant styling and simple venue and table decor today on the English Wedding Blog! This is a beautiful wedding – I love Lisa’s dress, the flowers… and that summery sunshine at the end of the day is simply perfect! Lisa and George chose Rudding Park as their wedding venue, and Alfred and Co Photography to capture their day. Flowers are simple white roses with gorgeous foliage from Flowers by Colette in Harrogate.

We were recommended Kirsty by a friend, who used her the year before. After looking through their pictures, our mind was made up that we would like Kirsty to shoot our wedding.

We were very pleased with Kirsty from the very first point of contact with her. Not only is she a fantastic photographer, she also is very easy to deal with, and is very helpful with any questions or issues we had. When we saw our wedding photos for the first time we were thrilled, neither of us really like having our photo taken, but we both loved them. She captured so many natural moments, and that’s what made us delighted to have chosen her.

Happy Tuesday lovelies! I’m blogging from my patio this morning… it’s not often we have glorious sunshine in the Lakes while the rest of the country is gloomy, so no apologies for making the most of it while it lasts! But I do have something to brighten your day and bring a little summer to your screens…

Judith and Mat’s wedding is wonderful for the flowers, for the glowing smiles on the faces of the beautiful bride and groom, and for bringing Millbridge Court back to the English Wedding Blog! It’s been two years since we featured a wedding from this fabulous Surrey venue, but I hope we’ll see many more in the years to come! It’s a blank canvas venue, with high ceilings and white walls… perfect for decorating with bright, vibrant touches as Judith and Mat did.

Gorgeous couple Kate and Ben held a festival inspired wedding with elegant and creative styling touches. I love the colourful sign on a pallet, the bathtub full of beers, Kate’s stunning dress and bouquet… and Ben’s change from dress uniform to a casual evening look. Images are by Adam and Liz at Ayelle Photography, who told me this was a wonderfully personal wedding – a wed fest style that really told the story of the couple, who love a party, are regular Ibiza goers and got engaged at the top of a mountain.

Ayelle Photography did the photography and videography for our wedding and it was fantastic. Well worth every penny we spent on them. Adam and Liz are a great team who went out of their way to find out exactly what we wanted for our day. They welcomed us into their home several times in order to make sure we were happy with what they were delivering. They worked individually on the day to follow both of us through all the preparation and as seasoned wedding photographers were also on hand to give a bit of calming advice if nerves were getting the better of us. They have an eye for what will make for a brilliant memory and will manoeuvre you or themselves into the best positions to get some beautiful photos.

Hey lovelies! How are you on this lovely Wednesday morning? I’ve been beavering away at my calligraphy accounts since yesterday, and all the numbers are breaking me – so I thought it would be lovely to stop for a moment or two and write about Ella and Will’s gorgeous countryside wedding. Oh, and to swoon over their beautiful florals and all the pretty handmade touches they incorporated into the day. They’re the loveliest couple, and their wedding was captured perfectly by lovely Guildford wedding photographer Charlotte Razzell Photography.  Enjoy!    Claire xxx

Zelie from The Homegrown Flower Company made our beautiful bouquets and large arrangements for outside the chapel and marquee. She knew I wanted something totally wild and colourful to tie in with the flowers we were doing ourselves and that I really didn’t want a bouquet that looked formally arranged. She certainly exceeded expectations plus my bouquet smelt truly amazing! I still have it now dried and in a frame.

Happy Saturday everyone! I’m off adventuring today in Edinburgh – we have a bit of a crazy weekend ahead, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have an AMAZING wedding to share with you this morning as well. First though, I have to tell you about my next calligraphy workshop. This one will be on a Saturday afternoon in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, perfect for anyone (else!) who’d like to spend a girly day hitting the shops, learning calligraphy, then dancing the night away in my fave city. The date is May 26th, and you can book places in my Etsy shop now. I’d love to see you there!

Back to weddings, and today’s has some of the most breathtaking images I’ve seen all year. Rosie and Steve are the loveliest couple, and their Rhinefield House wedding is captured beautifully by lovely Gemma from Romy Lawrence Photography. Watch out for really unique styling touches and incredible golden hour portraits with more romance than anything you’ve seen on a  wedding blog in your life!  I’ll let Gemma tell you more about this beautiful day. Enjoy!   Claire xxx

Gorgeous Cumbrian wedding with early morning swimming! Fairclough Photography (22)

I chuckled when I first saw today’s wedding – because all the boys went for a dip in the (freeeeezing) lake in the morning EXACTLY where I’d been stood in my wellies with four alpacas, my man and my mum & dad only a few days before. Fact. This is one of the best spots to get married in the whole of the Lake District, and gorgeous Rachel and Rob were thrilled with their choice of the Lingholm Estate for their summer wedding. I love it – the details are stunning, the atmosphere is as dramatic outside as it is heartwarming inside, and the images by Fairclough Photography are out of this world.     Claire xxx

The venue was so amazing and the views so fab that we didn’t need a lot of decoration. We also wanted to keep it simple. We had large candles and lanterns with cream petals and jars with Gypsophila for the ceremony and then slices of tree trunks with jars for the table settings, and cream table cloths.

Show me a bouquet with hydrangeas and you have my heart – they’re the loveliest blooms and so very perfect for an English summer wedding! Jade’s flowers are wonderful, and the images of the day are simply divine – Andy and Jade make the loveliest couple, and Headlam Hall is the perfect romantic venue for timeless wedding celebrations.

The ceremony took place in the Yorkshire market town of Thirsk in an almost Cathedral-like church, followed by a reception at the beautuful Headlam Hall, which is an absolute hidden gem of a English country venue.

Tucked away in the Durham Dales, Headlam Hall is a 17th century country retreat set within wonderful walled gardens and space for up to 120 guests for a reception in the beautiful Coach House Suite.

Beautiful summer wedding outdoors in an English vineyard, with Danielle Smith Photography (28)

Amy and Paul were lucky enough to be married in an English vineyard – it was a gorgeous summer day and the vineyard was the perfect outdoor setting for such a relaxed and informal celebration. Everything was very simply styled but the simplicity made everything look all the more elegant, don’t you think? West Street Vineyard is in the Essex countryside in Coggeshall with ceremonies literally amongst the vines. The sunset was incredible for our beautiful bride and groom, so do make sure you scroll all the way down to see every last gorgeous shot of their day!

I was looking for a tight fitting lace dress that was in all the magazines I was looking at at the time. When I tried these types on they were just not quite right. We were in Bridal Re-dress in Colchester when my sisters (also my two bridesmaids) actually made me try on my dress – the complete opposite to what I was originally looking for! When I couldn’t stop smiling and whirling around in it we all knew it was the one!
