If you’re looking for a little joy in the world today, we have it for you. A quiet elopement in Devon, set in a 20th century mansion which offers intimate weddings for 2 as well as celebrations for over a hundred guests. Lucy and Lewis chose to elope, as they have two young children and in Lucy’s words, “we wanted to be in the moment and enjoy it together.” The beautiful images prove they did just that. They celebrated three weeks later with friends and family with a wedding in Plymouth – but it’s their elopement story we’re sharing on English Wedding today.

Definitely the first wedding we’ve featured with an F1 simulator – and it went down a storm! It’s been a lovely morning for me reading all about Emma and Tom’s wedding, which was a real family affair. From mum Joanne’s exquisite cake and flower skills, helped by Emma and family friend Sue, to Emma’s “something borrowed” diamond necklace and rings from uncle David and auntie Angela who own Spencer the Jeweller, family played a huge part in the day. Emma owns a candle business and guests were given beautifully scented soy candles as favours, and the same candles were lit around the venue, giving off a beautiful scent of lavender and bergamot.
