How many couples incorporate elephant poo into their big day, I wonder?! Today’s gorgeous couple Rebecca and Tom did just that… you’ll have to read their wedding report after the images to find out how! This is a wonderful wedding I know you’ll love… Rebecca had her wedding dress made for her by a specialist dressmaker, and it’s exquisite!

tipi wedding JTJ Photography (1)

I love how they made their wedding day very personal, welcoming and friendly. The tipis are fab (aren’t they always?!) and other decoration is kept sweet and simple. Tom and Rebecca chose not to have a wedding cake, which makes perfect sense to me as a) they don’t have a sweet tooth and b) if you’re not cake fans it’s a good way to save money for other things!

Oh! And today’s bride and groom are a down to earth couple whose wedding report makes me happy, especially this bit:

What’s the best thing about being married?

That our relationship is exactly the same as it was before we were married!

This wedding is a treat – a magical celebration full of character and style, and the most amazing images I know you’ll love! It sounds as exciting as it looks, with thunder and lightning, hailstorms and finally sparklers to end the day as beautifully as it began. The bride and groom – one of the loveliest couples I’ve seen on the blog this year! – are gorgeous Mish and Jai. Images are by lovely Pixies in the Cellar.
Rowton Hall wedding photography (2)The Pixies – aka Peter and Sara – said the whole day had a great modern/vintage feel. Jai and his best man wore stylish great suits and funky shirts whilst Mish took the brave decision to be herself by wearing her glasses, which definitely looked amazing and complimented the whole look of the day.
Rowton Hall wedding photography (1)Jai had made a ‘signing bench’, a great idea, along with card/pressie box and signs for the road to Rowton Hall Hotel. Oh! And the best thing of all? A rice crispie wedding cake, perfectly topped with playmobil Mr & Mrs figures. Awesome. Read more…

Spend any amount of time on a US wedding blog and you’ll soon love the idea of a vineyard wedding. I see so many inspiration shoots and real weddings from vineyards – they’re always gorgeous, but just a wee bit unattainable for UK couples! Or so I thought… when I saw this beautiful wedding on Benjamin Toms‘ photography blog I had to share it with you. Fancy a vineyard wedding right here in the UK? Now you can. And here’s your photographer. Enjoy!

Ben said, “Chapel Down vineyard is a venue that I’ve wanted to work at for sometime and it did not disappoint. The guests had plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful grounds on what was just the most perfect summer’s day before sitting down to enjoy an amazing wedding breakfast followed by great speeches. The evening’s entertainment was put on by the most amazing band I’ve ever seen. Gemma and Rudi came across them on a visit to the famous Ronnie Scott’s in London and convinced them to play at their wedding.”

A little while ago I wrote a feature about wedding venues and how sometimes we don’t see venues in all their glory on wedding blogs – and yet we should! Kiera and Peter’s wedding reminded me of that article because they have so many photos taken around their wedding venue, the magnificent Jesmond Dene House near Newcastle.

wedding blog photography Duncan McCall (1)Kiera and Peter had a timeless and classic wedding with close friends and family, with an emphasis on love and celebration rather than details and styling – and with a venue like theirs, there’s little need to decorate after all!

Laugh as plans fall apart and the chaos unfolds – that’s what the memories are made of!” Today’s beautiful bride Wendy is an absolute star for sharing this advice. To look at the gorgeous images of David and Wendy’s wedding you’d never imagine that anything went wrong! Blue skies, fabulous tepees, a relaxed wedding full of smiles and laughter… it looks absolutely perfect. And I suppose that’s the lesson… that no matter what else happens on your wedding day, so long as you’re married the rest is just there to be enjoyed. Smile and keep smiling… and your memories will be amazing no matter what!

Yorkshire wedding blog (1)

There are ideas aplenty here, from Wendy’s simple and graceful one-shoulder wedding dress to the classic rose bouquet, the warming tepees and festival vibe, archways of foliage and bunting lining the tepee roof… it’s just lovely, romantic and magical. Kingston Maurward wedding

This is just wonderful! An outdoor wedding in the Dorset sunshine, with a beautiful bride and gorgeous groom and some inspiring details for styling and DIY. I think the theme of Alex and Jonny’s wedding is wonderful: there’s a little of everything from paper poms to vintage books, a fingerprint tree (or is it a hot air balloon in the style of Up?!) and some of the prettiest wedding flowers I’ve ever seen. Wow. Images are by the lovely Howard Lucas Photography

The cream teas look delicious. The lawn games look like so much fun! Photographer Howard Lucas says “after drinks and canapés at Kingston Maurward the bridal party continued onto Herrison Hall in Charlton Down, an absolute gem of a place and a relatively last minute decision. This was the most handsome of settings for guests to enjoy a traditional cream tea and games on the lawn before taking their seats in the carefully set and delightfully depicted reception.

This is beautiful! Katy and Russell were married at Charlton House in Somerset in an elegant and sophisticated celebration with close friends and family.

country house wedding Albert Palmer Photography (2)

Katy looks stunning in her Caroline Castigliano wedding dress, Jimmy Choos and full length veil – but admits she wasn’t completely besotted with her dress! And you know what? That’s absolutely fine by me 🙂 She’s beautiful, and she and Russell look so much in love – the images of their day are heartwarming and magical.

country house wedding Albert Palmer Photography (3)

They decorated Charlton House with delicious little floral table displays, lots of gypsophila and exquisite stationery by Katy’s graphic designer sister, Emily. I love the ‘Nan Jams’ wedding favours and jars of snowdrops (I think it’s the first time I’ve seen snowdrops at a wedding, and they’re the loveliest flowers aren’t they?!) – but I’ll leave you to discover all of the pretty details for yourself. The fabulous images are by Albert Palmer Photography – don’t miss Katy’s wedding report at the end of the feature to see her brilliant reaction to seeing the wedding pictures for the first time! Enjoy.

Rachel and Jonathan’s wedding photos are guaranteed to make you smile! They’ll also give you plenty of ideas for styling your own day. I loved this wedding as soon as I saw it and I was so pleased Pixies in the Cellar submitted the images for an English Wedding Blog feature. I know you’ll love it too!

Wentbridge House wedding blog (1)For a Yorkshire wedding, there are certainly many more kilts than I’d usually expect… but I’m certainly not complaining! Everything about the day – kilts included – looks fantastic. Rachel’s look is adorable (she wears a Justin Alexander dress with pearl accessories) and the flowers are just gorgeous!

Chloe and Kit’s wedding is just beautiful: a classic English country garden theme in a light and prettily decorated marquee at home. Chloe is the most beautiful bride, looking amazing in a lace dress by Augusta Jones. All of the special touches and styling on the day come together to create a delicately pretty and romantic wedding style with a cream, white and light grey colour scheme.

This is a classic English country garden wedding with some wonderful ideas for flowers, fairy lights, jam jars and candles which light up the enchanting garden to make it the prettiest setting for an evening reception… I’m sure you’ll love it. With thanks to Chloe and Kit for a lovely wedding report, and to Camilla Arnhold Photography for sharing her lovely images with us all today. Enjoy!

Morning beautiful! Yesterday I featured Vic and Rich’s gorgeous wedding at Whittlebury Park on the blog, and you got a little peek at some of the wonderful special touches they created. Today I have some brand new pics from their wedding day courtesy of London wedding photographer Babb Photo (the lovely Laura). I loved all Rich and Vic’s ideas for wedding styling and wanted to share with you too… so enjoy!

rustic winter wedding ideas (7)

1. Use vibrant winter colours and a broad palette

Rich and Vic mixed vibrant winter colours throughout their wedding for a contemporary and exciting rustic winter style. Vic’s bouquet is fabulous with roses, berries, pine cones and sea holly – and colours include everything from rich red to dusky blues and pinks.

rustic winter wedding ideas (6)2. Combine textures in buttonholes

Rich’s buttonhole uses roses with seedheads, berries and even a pine cone… I’m sure there’s a little rosemary in there as well. Don’t limit yourself to a single rose and a bit of foliage – textures are more fun to make and wear!

So the best thing in Rich and Victoria’s wedding report is the impeccable logic behind their wedding cakes: a Victoria sponge and a Rich chocolate cake… geddit?! Genius – and this perfectly sets the scene for a wonderfully creative wedding with lots of DIY touches and vintage style. There were so many gorgeous images I’m not even showing you all of them right now – instead I’ll save some of my favourites for tomorrow in a ‘get the look’ feature to inspire you for your own creative wedding!

Today’s wedding blog feature is all about the beautiful bride and gorgeous groom. They describe their wedding as “The most perfect, unforgettable and incredibly humbling day with all the people you love in one room!” – and what could possibly be better? It looks as amazing as it sounds, with images by the lovely Laura of Babb Photo (who gets a rave review from our star couple!)

It’s nice to feature a local wedding whenever I can, and Rebecca and Ashley’s simple but timeless wedding comes from just down the road from English Wedding Blog HQ on the edge of the Lake District. It’s lovely – Rebecca wears a dress by Temperley London, hubby Ashley made the wedding cake, instead of bridesmaids they have three page boys. This is a very personal wedding with a focus on elegance and classic styling, no over the top frills but plenty of help from the happy couple’s family to create the perfect English wedding.
