Luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent is pleased to announce the launch of their online Honeymoon Gift List Service.

The service offers wedding guests the opportunity to contribute towards a couple’s honeymoon by purchasing a specific experience or making a more general contribution.

Couples visiting the online service can order a ‘Honeymoon Destination Planner’ which highlights month by month some of Abercrombie & Kent’s favourite luxury honeymoon destinations and properties around the world.

This new interactive service, coordinated by an experienced travel specialist, will offer the bride and groom a personalised honeymoon itinerary, discretely available online to wedding guests using a password, and the ability to send messages and thank you notes to family and friends attending the wedding.

On return from their honeymoon, they receive an Abercrombie & Kent honeymoon album, detailing the gifts, contributions and messages.

Justin Wateridge, Managing Director of Abercrombie & Kent said “At Abercrombie & Kent we pride ourselves on offering a truly memorable travel experience. Our new facility offers an easy, relaxed and accessible way for family and friends to contribute towards a honeymoon and for their messages to be included in the lasting honeymoon album”.

Believe it or not, initially, all I wanted to do was run away to Gretna Green and tie the knot, no fuss, no big dress, but perhaps a big party at some point afterwards!

David and I have a young daughter, Vivienne, and always felt like a ‘unit’ anyway; we knew we would get married somewhere down the line, but it was certainly no priority and neither of us had a fantasy about a “big day” or a “fairytale wedding”. Then one sunny day on York river bank, David proposed and soon I found myself buying wedding magazines by the dozen and bookmarking anything bridal on the internet! (I don’t yet admit to being a Bridezilla, but there’s some sort of obsession going on..)

Poring over wedding material, I soon realised that, these days, “anything goes”. I didn’t have to wear a meringue dress, I didn’t have to be a princess for the day, David didn’t have to be my knight in shining armour wearing a stiff morning suit and a top hat.. we could be ourselves, get married and do everything exactly the way we wanted. Our priorities were: good music, good food and drink and good company, anything else could be a bonus.

Hello English-Wedding, I’m so excited to be writing here for the first time!

I can’t wait to share everything “wedding” with you all and hear what you think about plans, inspiration, ideas and how-to’s leading up to our day on the 30th July 2011. This is just a brief opening post as my fiance, David, and I are in the midst of boxes, brown tape and mess as we’re moving house this week, but I will be posting properly tonight and sharing a bit of initial inspiration and what we envisage our wedding to be and what we feel it’s all about.

Thanks to everyone who voted and helped rally-round to get others to help (even my grandma was posting “Vote for Sally’s” through anyone’s letterbox), it means to world for me to be given the opportunity to do this and I’m excited in anticipation to really get started! And to the lovely people at English-Wedding: thanks for having me!!

Don’t worry – you will be shedding happy tears as you read Jemma’s story about her winter wedding day. This is one of the loveliest things I’ve ever read and I was smiling and crying all the way!

Jemma did a write up for their friends and family who couldn’t be there on the day, which is such a lovely thing to do – and will make an enchanting keepsake for future generations! The text below is a collection of extracts from Jemma’s write up, just selected parts to accompany the beautiful pictures. Jemma’s an incredible writer and as this is her wedding I won’t interfere by adding my own comments – these are all Jemma’s words.

English Wedding blog sponsor Anneli Marinovich submitted the images of the wedding day. They make a wonderful team. Grab a cuppa and a cushion to squeeze and hide behind as you read a remarkable wedding story you’ll never forget…

I’ve been learning about wedding dresses this week, viewing some beautiful designs in a top bridal store and finding out a lot about trends within the industry – what are the designers doing – as well as trends for brides – which designs are popular for real brides.

More of that later, but for now I’ll share this with you: the latest catwalk show by Caroline Castigliano, which was held as part of the brand’s 20th anniversary celebrations at The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London.

This is a very fashionable wedding dress, perfectly on trend for 2011 with a figure hugging bodice and skirt flaring below the hips - strapless, fitted and elegant for a bride who will be the centre of attention on her wedding day

A beautiful embroidered wedding dress, figure-hugging and literally shimmering with crystals and detail. I love the sheer sash which contrasts with all the detailing on the gown

How to describe this wedding in a short title… yikes: couldn’t do it! Nicky and Martyn will be familiar to many of you from the English Wedding e-shoot week we did in January. Little did I know when I featured one of wedding photographer Mark Tierney‘s favourite engagement shoots that the couple were already married and that their wedding photographs would blow me away.

And yet I checked out the Tierney Photography blog just to see – and I found this gorgeous wedding which I had to blog! Beautiful bride Nicky’s look is out of this world: she mixes classic and quirky in the most incredibly exciting way. Not only that, groom Martyn is gorgeous and the photographs of their wedding day are knock-your-socks-off fabulous with a cherry on top.

This wedding is already a favourite of mine and I know you’ll love it too.

Nicky's quirky alternative fascinator is what first made me gasp out loud. Doesn't she look incredible!

Laughing bride and groom

This week is going to be all about smiles and happiness and wedding ideas. What better way to start than with a wedding, hey? So … your intrepid wedding blogger Claire runs off, checks files for smiliest bride and groom and… Oh yes. This is Perfect with a capital P! Nicola and Stewart at Cave Castle Hotel in East Yorkshire.

Nicola and Stewart’s wedding was just before Christmas at a venue I’ve not seen before (but instantly loved!) and their photos are beautiful and inspiring – their wedding photographer is Pete Barnes who’s based in Wakefield.

It made me laugh to read on Pete’s wedding photography blog that it was a freezing cold, snowy day but they were really keen to get some fantastic photos outdoors. It’s a sign of dedication that he soon found himself lying face down in the snow to get that perfect wedding photo!

I LOVE this photograph - Lucy looks regal and out-of-this-world beautiful

Sometimes everything in life comes together and a lightbulb flickers on, don’t you think? It’s happened for me – gradually – over the past month or so. I won’t bore you with details (well, I might, but in a later post) – suffice it to say that Creativity is my newest raison d’être.

I love how weddings provide everyone with an opportunity to be creative, and that those who do have their own very individual ways of realising their creativity. Lucy and James’s wedding is a beautiful, quite normal English wedding with a little twist of creativity which makes it ever so special.

There are two things I love about this wedding, and I hope you will too. The creative touches which sang out to me (you’ll get that in a minute) are Lucy’s beautiful fluffy white shrug – an accessory with a dash of originality which makes her look ice-queen-esque – and her performance.

Jo and Dom's wedding decorations are gorgeous - but the photography makes them magical, theatrical and more

Yesterday’s wedding was fantastic – but I had so many wonderful images to show you I had to hold back the very best for today. It’s time for Dom and Jo’s unique wedding reception at Dartington Hall.

This couple are fantastic, and their friends and family are real characters. Wedding photographer Chris Hanley said their day was full of warmth and love – and it really is special. The best thing about Dom and Jo being on English Wedding is that they’re just like you and me – the beautiful thing about their wedding is their personalities and how they’ve made their celebration really personal, memorable and just right for them.

I love this photograph - it's almost in layers, with Jo and Dom the centre of attention, framed by a gorgeous archway and Dartington Hall looking like a watercolour painting in the background

Wedding shoes for a quirky lady with bags of character and class

Wedding shoes for a quirky and sophisticated bride with bags of character and class...

What makes every wedding special for me is personality and character. And I believe with all my heart that everyone has a unique spark which makes them wonderful. The trick is showing it – and in the case of Jo and Dom’s wedding those little sparks are everywhere.

These two are best of friends, soulmates and so much more – and every photograph shows what a fabulous couple they are. Thank you as ever to “friend of English Wedding” and top wedding photographer Chris Hanley for sharing these photographs with us.

Chris has asked me to mention his second photographer for this wedding: Steven Brooks takes the credit for some of these beautiful, artistic and creative images. With Chris and Steven working so well as a team, I have to split this blog feature into two parts – there are so many amazing scenes, details and moments to share.

Part one today, and part two to follow in the morning. Enjoy…

Every time I see a new wedding from PR Photography I tumble head over heels for the Filmatography™ concept all over again. This is no exception: as Siqin and Dominik celebrate their wedding there is moment after moment of beautiful emotion to keep you on the edge of your seat.

I don’t know what gets me more – the elegance of the film, the wonderful styling of Siqin and Dominik’s day or the smiles and happy tears captured in this cinematic wedding film. It’s probably the perfect combination of all of the above!

Watch out for the incredible imagery of beautiful bride Siqin’s wedding dress with the beautifully distinctive floral neckline, and for the filming of her veil just afterwards. The pigeons taking flight is another exciting moment which I loved, but best of all Dominik’s nervous emotion turning into a beaming smile after the ceremony is wonderful to watch! Later it’s Siqin’s turn to well up a little during the speeches – all captured on film in the most sensitive and natural way.
