Happy Saturday everyone! I’m off adventuring today in Edinburgh – we have a bit of a crazy weekend ahead, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have an AMAZING wedding to share with you this morning as well. First though, I have to tell you about my next calligraphy workshop. This one will be on a Saturday afternoon in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, perfect for anyone (else!) who’d like to spend a girly day hitting the shops, learning calligraphy, then dancing the night away in my fave city. The date is May 26th, and you can book places in my Etsy shop now. I’d love to see you there!

Back to weddings, and today’s has some of the most breathtaking images I’ve seen all year. Rosie and Steve are the loveliest couple, and their Rhinefield House wedding is captured beautifully by lovely Gemma from Romy Lawrence Photography. Watch out for really unique styling touches and incredible golden hour portraits with more romance than anything you’ve seen on a  wedding blog in your life!  I’ll let Gemma tell you more about this beautiful day. Enjoy!   Claire xxx

I chuckled when I first saw today’s wedding – because all the boys went for a dip in the (freeeeezing) lake in the morning EXACTLY where I’d been stood in my wellies with four alpacas, my man and my mum & dad only a few days before. Fact. This is one of the best spots to get married in the whole of the Lake District, and gorgeous Rachel and Rob were thrilled with their choice of the Lingholm Estate for their summer wedding. I love it – the details are stunning, the atmosphere is as dramatic outside as it is heartwarming inside, and the images by Fairclough Photography are out of this world.     Claire xxx

The venue was so amazing and the views so fab that we didn’t need a lot of decoration. We also wanted to keep it simple. We had large candles and lanterns with cream petals and jars with Gypsophila for the ceremony and then slices of tree trunks with jars for the table settings, and cream table cloths.

If somebody could just randomly invite me to a wedding at The Matara Centre I would be so very happy! This place though… the water, the flowers, the atmosphere always looks sensational. Gorgeous bride Catherine looks amazing in her Victoria Jane gown (bought from Krystle Brides), which she wears with a satin edged veil and pearl accessories and Jonni is a very handsome groom in his 3 piece Ted Baker suit. Our venue was unique and amazing so didn’t need much styling. We kept it simple and tried to personalise it with our theme of music and lots of candles. Another amazing friend, Alex, from Burnt Orange Events made and provided some giant light up LOVE letters which were an great focal piece in the courtyard.

Martin had done some photos at a friend’s wedding and came highly recommended. When we went to see him he made us feel at complete ease and seemed genuinely excited to be able to photograph our wedding.

Happy Sunday lovelies! I hope you have a relaxing day ahead 🙂 We’ve been stargazing at Kielder Observatory so today will be spent roadtripping back home and thinking about how big the sky is! I totally recommend it by the way – visit Kielder if you ever get the chance! But anyway… today’s wedding is creative and pretty with little touches of vintage decor. Gorgeous Hannah and Paul chose our lovely friend and sponsor Ayshea Goldberg to capture their day at Suffolk’s charming Kersey Mill.

We didn’t have a theme as such but incorporated aspects of 1950’s into the day. Our colour scheme was pale pink and yellow, our favours were pretty bottles of sodas, our cake topper was a vintage bunting which said “Just Married” and we asked everyone to keep their phones and cameras away until after the wedding speeches. The Groom and Groomsmen wore bowties and braces all the way from the USA and we gave our Mum’s and Paul’s Grandma a wrist corsage. We had The House Hop DJ play 1940’s and 1950’s music on two wind up gramophones before the main evening disco.

Happy Friday lovelies! I have the sweetest wedding for you all today – Naomi and Chris declared their love for one another at Westwood Heath Church in Coventry. Their religious ceremony was such a meaningful part of the day – but that didn’t stop this wonderful couple from leaving the church dancing down the aisle!

People always ask you – what colour theme is it? What are using to decorate? What’s the cake like? You can get wrapped up in all these things very easily and don’t get me wrong they help make your day beautiful! But, I found that what made my day joyful was the thought we both put into the vows, the songs, the moment we would stand and commit our lives to each other. So don’t forget the ceremony! Putting care and thought into this was when I knew we would have the most joyful day.

Show me a bouquet with hydrangeas and you have my heart – they’re the loveliest blooms and so very perfect for an English summer wedding! Jade’s flowers are wonderful, and the images of the day are simply divine – Andy and Jade make the loveliest couple, and Headlam Hall is the perfect romantic venue for timeless wedding celebrations.

The ceremony took place in the Yorkshire market town of Thirsk in an almost Cathedral-like church, followed by a reception at the beautuful Headlam Hall, which is an absolute hidden gem of a English country venue.

Tucked away in the Durham Dales, Headlam Hall is a 17th century country retreat set within wonderful walled gardens and space for up to 120 guests for a reception in the beautiful Coach House Suite.

Beautiful summer wedding outdoors in an English vineyard, with Danielle Smith Photography (28)

Amy and Paul were lucky enough to be married in an English vineyard – it was a gorgeous summer day and the vineyard was the perfect outdoor setting for such a relaxed and informal celebration. Everything was very simply styled but the simplicity made everything look all the more elegant, don’t you think? West Street Vineyard is in the Essex countryside in Coggeshall with ceremonies literally amongst the vines. The sunset was incredible for our beautiful bride and groom, so do make sure you scroll all the way down to see every last gorgeous shot of their day!

I was looking for a tight fitting lace dress that was in all the magazines I was looking at at the time. When I tried these types on they were just not quite right. We were in Bridal Re-dress in Colchester when my sisters (also my two bridesmaids) actually made me try on my dress – the complete opposite to what I was originally looking for! When I couldn’t stop smiling and whirling around in it we all knew it was the one!

The other weekend I bought sunflower seed packets… lots of them. I know it’s early, but I’m excited for summer! And I don’t think you can ever really have too many sunflowers, right? I’m fairly sure today’s beautiful bride Kayleigh and handsome husband Scott would agree. Their wedding is vibrant and summery, wonderfully creative and gorgeous in every possible way.

Sunflowers started as a bit of a personal joke between myself and Scott but we started to see beautiful bouquets mixed with white roses and felt these would set our summer wedding perfectly. We met Ellen from Enchanted Florist on the sly at a wedding fayre where she wasn’t actually working but someone introduced us and she was just brilliant! We showed her a few pictures and she designed the rest including the stair swags.

Joanna lives locally to us and I’ve often seen bits of her lovely work online but we both met her at a wedding fayre where Scott liked her and her photos too so we never really looked too much further!

Happy weekend everyone! What are your plans for today? I’m heading home after a lovely calligraphy workshop and concert in Manchester last night… I’m ready for cat and boyfriend snuggles and a hot chocolate or two! Today I wanted to share a gloriously colourful and luxe wedding with a whimsical look – the blooms are vibrant and lush, and Kate’s stunning dress is insanely beautiful (and a little different, which I just love!)

Images are by lovely English Wedding Directory member Rachel Joyce Photography, and flowers are by the Flower Lounge in Didsbury – Kate told me Sian and the team at Flower Lounge were incredible and the flowers were amazing – “I’m obsessed with fresh flowers and really wanted them to be colourful and stand out which I think they definitely did!

Our happy couple’s choice of venue was the magnificent Thornton Manor, which Kate had loved since she’d looked around it with a friend – there was nowhere else she and Gary could imagine getting married. Their day was fun, colourful and relaxed – and blessed with glorious August sunshine!

Today’s wedding is wonderfully luxurious and beautifully styled – and our bride and groom are more than gorgeous! Lisa works at a wedding venue, and her natural talent for styling a wonderfully elegant celebration totally shines through in the images of her wedding to Joe. The look is simple and sophisticated with lots of white, silver and gold with hints of dusty pink & grey green.

Luckily I have some amazing contacts in the dressmaking business & designed my wedding dress myself! I designed an off the shoulder Mikado silk trumpet flare wedding dress with a dramatic ball gown over skirt for the ceremony & photos! My wedding dress was very simple with no lace or detailing, I wanted a very elegant look & had a train that was longer than cathedral length! I absolutely adored my dress!

My drop diamond earrings, diamond necklace & bracelet were all from Next. My shoes; ivory pointed heels with diamond detail buckle, were from Jenny Packham – they were so comfortable!

Good morning to all of you lovely folks – I hope your day is going well so far! Do you have sunshine? There’s plenty here for you to enjoy on your screens from Sian and Stephen’s wedding day which I hope will make you happy! I love this wedding: the images are lovely and light and fresh, and the styling of the day is pretty as can be – those dried flowers are lush! Words and images by Emily Crutcher Photography

Dominique and Nick’s wedding is beautiful – gracefully styled with exquisite florals and elegant touches throughout. Their venue needs no introduction: Pendrell Hall is one of our faves here at English Wedding HQ. Dominique looks so lovely in her dress, although she admits to having her bridal ‘moment’ when she fell in love with her shoes! (which are gorgeous!!) The focus of this fab couple’s wedding is most certainly on family, and that’s what we love most of all. Involving your children in your wedding is so important, and will make the day so much more special and memorable… even if you do end up lying on the floor in your wedding dress having Thomas the Tank Engine driven across your hair (seriously, one of my fave pics! Don’t miss it at the end of this blog post!)
