What better on a blustery Monday morning than a riot of glorious colour and a beautiful wedding to share? Today we’re joining gorgeous couple Kiran and Ross who were married at Stoneleigh Abbey in Warwickshire, and who chose lovely Hannah K Photography to capture their day. Kiran’s red lengha is just stunning: beautifully embroidered and made for dancing! We love how she teamed it with two dupattas: one with stunning gold trim for the daytime, switching up to a tartan version to match Ross’s tartan for the evening do! Lovelies, I hope this stunner of a wedding brightens your day.
Welcome to Monday everyone! How was your weekend? I hope you’re staying safe and well with everything that’s going on in the world right now. As ever, I want English Wedding to be a beautiful distraction, an escape from the day-to-day and a little reminder that normal life – and love, and weddings! will resume in time. Today’s is Billy & Bessie, whose outdoor wedding at The Swan Hotel in Bibury sings of summer days and love and laughter. The bride and groom are gorgeous, the day is moments of love and magic, and the setting is insanely beautiful – the word “quintessentially” was invented for this place! Bessie told us overall the day was just perfect – “the best day of my life!!!” and for me today scrolling through Sam Bennett Photography‘s gorgeous images of their day has been an absolute joy.
THREE fabulous dresses, delicious styling, and a celebration filled with pure joy – this is just one of the most wonderful, captivating weddings we’ve ever seen. I am head over heels with Priyal and Dan’s day, and I hope you will love it too! The photos really do speak for themselves – but don’t miss Dan & Priyal’s interview at the end of the feature. It’s a bit of a treat for me when a groom fills out our interview form, and Dan’s words are a lovely read: from the tear in his eye as he saw Priyal walking down the aisle, to his delight when she was the first to make a speech, to his very excellent tip about not drinking 3 vodka shots after the first dance… Images are by the awesome MIKI Studios, who I am thrilled to say are members of English Wedding.
So this one’s really close to home for me: a Lake District wedding at one of our finest venues, nestling amongst the highest English mountains in the charming village of Grasmere. The venue is the Michelin-starred The Forest Side – a gem I’ve dined at, organised a photoshoot at, and where my mum & dad used to stay on their Lakes holidays before I was born!
Jenny and Ben’s August wedding is instantly a favourite for me – they’re the loveliest, sweetest couple and their day just rocks my wedding bloggy WORLD!! There are some wonderful ideas I just know you’ll love – aside from the hundreds of pom poms, there’s a mobile gin factory on a VW camper van with jars of spices and copper pots to make your very own wedding gin right there on the day – genius. There are sunflowers and pinwheels in a rainbow of colours, along with fairy lights everywhere, and fabulous vintage style tea length dresses, and GLORIOUS florals – it’s just everything. Jenny looks stunning in her Brighton Belle dress. Ben’s relaxed look gets a huge YES from me: suits are not obligatory for weddings, guys! He looks fab – and more than anything, the happiness between these two is infectious. They describe their day as “a colourful rustic, vintage, craft collaboration with a gin twist!”
