Today’s beautiful, modern and romantic wedding is from London. Octavia and Steve make a stunning couple, and the elegant decor and styling and the most wonderful atmosphere make this day truly special. We’ve loved scrolling through London wedding photographer Ben Pipe‘s images of the day – and we’re thrilled to share Octavia’s story of such an amazing wedding.

Octavia and Steve’s Wedding at St Nicholas Church, London by Ben Pipe Photography on 7th May 2022

We got married at St Nicolas’ Church in Chiswick before punting down the Thames to my parent’s home in Hammersmith where I grew up with my five siblings. The house was decorated with wild flowers and ivy for a beautiful natural, undone aesthetic.

An interesting survey landed in our inbox a little while ago, and we wanted to share it with you. It’s ok not to be ok when the world around us is crumbling – and if you’re worried about planning your wedding and how much it will all cost, you’re absolutely not alone.

Weddings are expensive. But as we’ve said many times on English Wedding, we don’t believe the ‘average wedding budget‘ figures you’ll see in so many wedding publications.

The world of weddings is changing! We asked celebrity wedding florist Larry Walshe some of our biggest, burning questions – and we were thrilled to bits when he replied with such thoughtful insights on the future of weddings.

Before we dive in: yes, luxury weddings are bound to create more waste by volume. We’re not hiding from that. But no amount of Guardian coverage can stop luxurious weddings from happening; they’ll go on, and they’re already becoming more sustainable. It would be naive to ignore the existence of extravagant celebrations and assume everyone can have a thrifty little micro wedding. Finally, the wedding industry needs its shining stars to set an example: and here’s how that’s already happening.

This morning we’re bringing you a burst of joyful colour and oodles of romance. A talented and super creative team of Northamptonshire wedding suppliers came together for this glorious photoshoot at Brampton Grange, sent in to us by fabulous Northants wedding photographer Daniel Thomas. We’re in LOVE with that cake, the colours of the balloons and the stunning floral styling!

This was a fun, colourful summer shoot designed to show off the versatility of Brampton Grange’s outside spaces, including the gorgeous courtyard for ceremonies. Bright, vibrant colours have been used to stand out and contrast against the bride’s dress and the surrounding greenery of the countryside.

A Sanyukta Shrestha dress, a wild and beautiful location, and a weekend celebration with a lively ceilidh – Bex and Dave made their wedding incredible!

This is one of those ‘real life’ weddings we often rave about on English Wedding. it’s another by our members York Place Studios whose style you’ll absolutely recognise by now. These brilliant documentary wedding photographers capture the truth of weddings: with the beautiful styling of the day as a backdrop to all of those human connections and moments of humour which unfold as heartwarming stories throughout the day.
