Earlier this month we featured Luke Hayden’s top tips for planning a garden wedding – a great guide to bookmark and save if you’ll be saying your I dos outdoors – and today we’re looking at styling tips for garden weddings.

An outdoor space is basically a blank canvas, especially if you’re hiring a sailcloth marquee, tipi or Sperry Tent as cover for your wedding reception. It’s amazing to have total free rein on styling your outdoor space – but it can be a little overwhelming too. We’re here to help!

OK, so I’ve said this many times, but really today I would love for you to read today’s wedding blog SLOWLY. It’s the images, which are absolute proof that children lift weddings to the next level and then some. Of course our bride and groom are absolutely stunning and this is a day filled with joy and celebration (and pre-pandemic happy hugs!) – but honestly, the kids make it. You will smile, and I hope you’ll chuckle as you scroll through this joyful and relaxed celebration. There simply couldn’t be a more perfect wedding to brighten your Friday and lift your spirits!

I was over the moon when Nik from Trilion Productions got in touch to share this lovely little micro wedding with us. Gorgeous couple Roanne and Rey were married on Roanne’s birthday in July, celebrating with closest family and friends – and their adorable little boy is the star of the show! Roanne’s dress is wonderful for a summer wedding, with a beautiful skirt silhouette – I love it! Styling was kept elegant and minimal, with a simple calla lily bouquet. I fell in love with this wedding for the glorious images, and the joy and love which shines so strongly through the images. In 10, 20, 50 years time looking back on this day will be as perfect as any big wedding could ever be. Congratulations Roanne & Rey, we LOVE your wedding!“english

Did you know that your special day can be a source of amazing waste? No one wants to cut corners on their big day, but recent research shows that on average each wedding is responsible for over 20kg of single use plastic waste and over £500 of food is thrown away after each reception.

For an Eco-conscious bride or couple, they should be looking to reduce waste before the wedding even starts. Many couples now are opting for sustainable wedding rings, however the next stage of wedding planning offers a considerable opportunity to showcase your green credentials.

I’m always amazed by the stuff wedding photographers know. It figures – they’ve been to countless weddings and seen it ALL – but it’s only on the day itself when you realise the value of everything they’ve learned along the way. With intimate outdoor weddings a really popular choice now, I’m delighted to share our lovely English Wedding member Luke Hayden‘s tips for planning a garden wedding. He has advice on everything from landscaping to catering, what to wear and of course, having a plan B for the weather!
