Would it surprise you to know I often choose the weddings I feature based on a groom’s outfit? Of course I look for styling details and amazing flowers and dresses and decor – but if I see a groom wearing a fabulously fitting, bespoke tailored or really individual suit then I just know the entire wedding will be a beauty.
I do think grooms are overlooked by the wedding media. That’s unfair: not all weddings have a bride. And when they do, why is it the norm for brides to spend thousands on their outfits, and grooms only a fraction of that?!* Happily I’ve seen lots of weddings this last year with amazingly dressed grooms who’ve been equally as committed to planning their weddings as brides!
I’m utterly smitten with this beautiful Cornish wedding, and with all of the gorgeous personal touches Lauren & Ollie incorporated into their day. The venue is Trevenna Barns, and the beautiful images are by super talented Hannah Timm Photography, who’s based in Cornwall and captures weddings across the South West. The flowers are insane – seeing them was one of Lauren’s favourite parts of the day! – they’re by The Garden Gate Flower Company. As always, you’ll find more from this amazing wedding on our instagram @englishweddingblog.

I’m almost hoping that you’ll scoff at the title of this little article – does calligraphy really work for any wedding budget?! Well, I’m here to tell you that yes, it does. The beautiful art that may once have been the province of the aristocracy can be really affordable. You can hire a calligrapher no matter how much you have to spend on your wedding. It’s just a matter of choosing how and where to include calligraphy in your day. Let me explain!
Today’s winter wedding inspiration is a treat to be able to share with you. The floral styling is absolutely perfect, using carefully chosen blooms for a bouquet and arrangements which are full of character, while using the most minimal of colour palettes. This is winter wedding style at its best, created by a talented group of wedding suppliers at Huntsmill Farm, and with images by lovely Rose Rae Photography.
Planned and Organised by Flamingo and Fern, Winter Sky is a fresh, modern interpretation of a timeless aesthetic, offering couples a stylish yet approachable look for their special day.
I’m loving all the gentle autumn tones in this gorgeous Yorkshire wedding from The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey. Lovely newlyweds Sarah and Tom were married in October and chose North Yorkshire wedding photographer Joss Denham to capture their day. The colours are glorious, the styling is spot on – and the love and laughter bursts from the photos so beautifully!
